Trullo Antica Aia is a typical house in the Puglia region with a unique building style shaped like a cone. These 'trulli' have been built with traditional methods from the year 700 and consist of stones without cement. This trullo is located in Valle d'Itria at Locorotondo
and is decorated with tradition and comfort.
It has 5 large cones constituting a living room with 1sofa, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedded room, a kitchen / dining room and a large cone containing the bathroom
The property is surrounded by a garden and an enclosed south-facing courtyard paved with traditional old stones (chianche). The courtyard has sun loungers for relaxing; a barbeque, garden table and chairs for al fresco dining
This is an authentic and fascinating holiday home to spend your holidays, because the trulli provide natural coolness held inside by the stone exterior. Trullo is situated on the west facing slope of a delightfully quiet valley with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and ideal place for relaxing and is beautiful to explore on foot or by bicycle. For beach lovers there are miles of unspoilt coastline, from rocky coves for snorkelling to long stretches of white sand with crystalline water. Trullo is ideally located for exploring the sights of Puglia region and to visit for example Alberobello with a trulli museum belongs to the Unesco World Heritage sites

We enjoyed our six-day stay here. You can't beat the location, since it's right in the middle of all the towns people want to visit. It's a spacious trullo house, which has been in the family for generations. Parking was free right out front. Upon entry, we were greeted by the host's mother, Enza, who showed us around. They provided a surprise welcome basket, which we appreciated and enjoyed. The outside patio area is great for relaxing in the evenings, and the kitchen is well equipped for an extended stay. One note: there is no AC in the trullo, but a standing fan is provided. Luckily, it cooled off while we were there, but I imagine July and August can be unbearably hot.Taziana, the host, communicates quickly and clearly, ensuring we had what we needed to enjoy our stay. It's not really walkable to town, so you'll likely need to drive, and parking in Locorotondo isn't easy.We found one thing that could be improved, and that's the double bed. It isn't very comfortable, being super soft, with no support. You could feel the springs. Maybe it's time for a new mattress. Other than that, no complaints. Despite these minor issues, you'll enjoy your stay. We did.

Very clean and cozy place

This place was nothing but the best. The owner - Vincenza was super friendly and helpful. Trullo was very clean and cozy l. It is also situated in the besg area of Locorotondo, not many people and very quiet. I recommend it to everyone!

A very good stay. The day bed in the lounge is uncomfortable and the shower could only be hand held which was difficult in a confined space. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay

Great Trullo

Overall we had a fantastic stay at this quiet and well equipped trullo. It is slightly further from the town center than indicated and about a half hour drive from a great beach. The two bedrooms are not separate but rather one big room divided by a curtain, which may be a factor for some.

"Spotlessly clean. Located in countryside 20 minutes walk to centre of Locorotondo. Owner thoughtfully provided wine and olive oil grown on family property. Basics, e.g. salt, pepper, washing powder, washing up liquid etc provided. Owner''s parents, delightful couple, live behind trullo. Mother had freshly baked bread from woodfire oven for us. 2 bedrooms, one queen bed, other 2 singles. Could accommodate another couple on large lounge. The owner met us in main square of Locorotondo as it is a little tricky finding the trullo the first time. Owner very helpful and willing to please. Easy drive to Polignano a Mare and Lecce, a little further to Matera (cave dwellers), 9 km to Alberobello (village of trulli)"

Autumn sunshine

We arrived a little later than planned due to a 2 hour flight delay but were greeted enthusiastically by the owner’s mother who spoke no English. We muddled through the walk through of this amazingly beautiful trulli but later the owner and her daughter came and explained a little more in English. The trulli is picture postcard beautiful both inside and out. I like to cook so found the kitchen a little lacking. I did however learn to use a Bialetti caffitiera and cook porridge on the stove (usually microwave). The trulli was further out of Locorotondo than expected so we needed to drive in to the town or supermarket. Locorotondo is perfectly situated to visit many of the towns in northern Puglia. Alberobello is very close by and an amazing UNESCO site. Did not disappoint. We ventured to the north and south coast with ease and even as far as Matera (not Puglia I know). Castellana Grotte is not to be missed. An amazingly awesome cave system. Although I have spoken of some negatives with the property, l would definitely recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Puglia.

Très joli hébergement typique ! Parking sur place. Cuisine équipée, condiments disponibles y compris dosettes à café (peut-être il peut manquer un grille pain :)). Le village de Locorontodo est juste à côté et le quartier historique très sympa à visiter le soir, nombreux restaurants. Idem pour Alberobello.Un grand merci à Vincenza pour son accueil, sa disponibilité, elle nous a apporté couvertures et chauffage d'appoint car le temps n'était vraiment pas au rendez-vous et même des gâteaux pour nous réconforter !

Sehr freundliche Vermieterin. Das Haus war mit einigen Vorräten wie Milch, Wein, Öl, Nudeln und Gewürzen ausgestattet. Leider aber Abzüge bei den Schlafzimmern. Es handelt es sich um zwei Räume, die nur mit einem Vorhang getrennt sind. Eigentlich ist es ein großes Zimmer, in dem ein Doppelbett und zwei Einzelbetten stehen. Es ist also keinerlei Privatsphäre gegeben.Das hat uns ein wenig missgestimmt.

très belle location et pleine d'originalité, vraiment typique

Que d'Histoire dans cette résidence... quand on connait les raisons de ce type de construction originale.. le vin est très bon dans le pays, les vignes nombreuses...les oliveraies forment une véritable marée verte du haut des points de vue jusqu'à la mer... Il nous a été très agréable d'être accueillis par la fille de la propriétaire... aussi de la dotation en complète pour préparer des petits déjeuner (café, petits gâteaux, beurre....) Il faut préciser que le logement était très propre... Nous conseillons cette location...et souhaitons à la famille Cardone beaucoup de succès dans leur activité..Liliane et André

Ad attenderci abbiamo trovato Vincenza e sua figlia Tiziana,persone squisite e molto accoglienti, per tutta la durata della vacanza Vincenza con sua mamma che risiedeva nel Trullo vicino cia hanno fatto sentire come a casa,tutte le mattine ci mandavano messaggi per aggiornarci su quale mare andare(Ionio ,Adriatico) spesso passava Vincenza per portarci frutta fresca del loro orto più tosto che una focaccia appena sfornata o dei dolci. Il trullo e fantastico ,abbiamo avuto temperature molto alte all'esterno mentre all'interno stavomo con il lenzuolino per il fresco che c'èra..grazie ancora a Vincenza per l'accoglienza e spero di tornarci presto...5 stelle non bastano per valutare il posto fantastico

Es war alles sehr schön und hat alles toll geklappt!

Alles hat gepasst – super nette Vermieter – waren sofort zur Stelle als Hilfe benötigt wurde – ich kann es nur weiter empfehlen. Uns hat alles sehr gut gefallen. Man muss 30 Minuten rechnen um ans Meer zu fahren.
