Casa do Chafariz

Harmonious building and well framed in the landscape, was rehabilitated indoors in 2019. It is situated in a very quiet and peaceful location with a fabulous view of the sea and the mountains, a short distance from the picturesque town of Viana do Castelo, near a brook with natural ponds where you can take a refreshing swim and also close to beautiful beaches still wild with golden sands and corners sheltered by rock formations, good for fishing, water sports, cycling or simply to walk by the sea that joins the blue sky creating an atmosphere of pure relaxation.
This charming chalet surrounded by a large private garden, very flowery, with a beautiful fountain, is fully equipped for a stay of maximum comfort. The garden has a barbecue, making it a perfect place for long lunches and romantic evenings watching the sea and the sunset. It is the ideal destination for a holiday full of tranquility, in a calm environment that invites not only the walks but also the pleasures of the good table and is suitable for a couple alone or with small children.
Here travelers will be involved, pampered and snug, no matter what time of year, there is a wood stove to keep them comfortable in the winter while creating a very romantic ambiance.

Excellent in every way!

Jose fully deserves to be rated as a ‘super host’. The property exceeded our expectations and Jose was a generous and thoughtful host. The property is extremely comfortable and well-equipped (including a superb music selection!), conveniently close to a supermarket (though Jose also provides restaurant recommendations) and the garden is a beautiful and relaxing space in which to eat or simply ‘chill’ after enjoying a walk along the coast. We also appreciated the loan of bicycles. We had a really super week. Thank you, Jose!

Perfect quiet spot

José very kindly greeted us. The guest house, located on his property, was very inviting to enter. His wife had baked a cake for us, and he had some fruit in a basket, water and a bottle of wine; which was very much appreciated. The location is about a 10 min drive to Viana do Castelo. We loved the location because it was quiet and felt very relaxing to be away from a city centre. While it wasn't beach weather while we were there, there are a few nearby that are well worth visiting regardless. José recommended Praia da Arda and it was absolutely beautiful to go see.The house itself was a nice size for us, and the grounds are stunning. We didn't have much time to sit outside and eat, but wish we did because it was serene.All in all, we would absolutely return. Thank you so much José and wife.

ADORAMOS

Passamos 3 dias espectaculares. Tivemos uma recepção fantástica pelo Sr.Jose com imensa atenção connosco, a casa era maravilhosa e super acolhedora. Voltaremos novamente, e vamos passar a palavra a amigos, pois ficamos maravilhados.

Tolles Haus mit Meerblick

Das Haus ist komplett ausgestattet. Es ist alles in sehr gutem Zustand. Von den Liegestühlen im Garten kann man das Meer beobachten. Jose ist ein super Gastgeber und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Haus befindet sich an einem Hang, es ist kein Restaurant unbedingt fußläufig zu erreichen, aber dies war uns bei der Buchung auch bewusst und mit dem Auto sind Restaurants in 5 -10 min erreichbar. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Obrigada, Jose!

A ne pas rater

Quel plaisir dans ce très beau gite . Tout est conforme à la description; le propriétaire José est très attentionné. le jardin avec sa fontaine en granit est magnifique et offre un point de vue sensationnel sur la mer. De très belles promenade à faire. Les villages environnants (Caminha par exemple) sont très accueillants. Ne pas hésiter à louer ce gite vous ne serez pas décus. Bon séjour !!!

Gîte tranquille dans un superbe jardin

Nous avons apprécié de séjourner quelques jours à Casa do chafariz. Gîte tranquille au bord du chemin de St Jacques de compostelle. Très Bellevue sur la mer. bien équipé. Très propre et literie confortable. Un gros plus pour le jardin ! Magnifique !! José est un hôte charmant et très discret.

Tolle Unterkunft

Wir hatten ein herzliches willkommen mit Ostereiern, Kuchen und Wein in diesem sehr liebevoll eingerichteten Haus.Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und außerordentlich bemüht.Das Haus zeichnet sich durch viele nette Details aus welche es so wohnlich machen.Der Blick nach vorne zum Meer und nach hinten zu den Hügeln ist phantastisch und der Garten eine Augenweide.Wir empfehlen das Haus in jedem Falle weiter.

Very nice and clean little house

We spent a wonderful week-end at the "casa do chafariz". José the owner did everything to make us feel at home and we really appreciated his dedication. The house was clean, very well organized, with fresh fruits, nice coffee and a welcome gift. The view was amazing and we were near several hiking trails. We are happy to recommend this accommodation.

An Oasis away from home

We have traveled to Portugal several times and it has drawn us back once again. This time we have found an oasis on the outskirts of Viana. The house has beautiful views of the ocean and countryside, not to mention the lovely gardens and accommodations. There is easy access to the property and the great ocean beaches nearby to walk, swim and to enjoy great sunsets. As enthusiastic hikers, we were delighted to find the Coastal route to Santiago de Compostela passes by the house. Jose and his family made us feel welcome from the start with many special touches to make our stay delightful. Some rental homes lack character and charm, but we knew from time of arrival that House of the Fountain was special. We hope to make a return visit. Thank you Jose Howard and Giselle from Canada

Une maison charmante avec vue sur la mer

José est un hôte attentionné. Accueil avec vin et pâtisserie, une charmante attention renouvelée chaque semaine. La maison est très confortable et très bien équipée. La literie très confortable. Chaque semaine, on peut changer les draps et les linges si on reste plus qu’une semaine comme nous. Le jardin est joli, fleuri et on apprécie de se reposer sous les palmiers avec vue sur la mer au loin et la fontaine ou viennent boire les oiseaux. José est très disponible pour toute question mais il sait aussi être discret. Lui et sa femme sont voisins mais ils ne sont pas du tout intrusifs. La région du Minho est très belle et la maison est proche de nombreuses belles plages de sable blanc. Mais l’eau est froide... ce n’est pas la faute de José 😉 La ville de Viana de Castelo est proche et agréable à visiter. Il y’a un tas de très bons petits restaurants. Demandez à José ! On reviendra peut-être une fois, en tous les cas, je conseille cette location, idéale pour un couple en recherche de calme, de simplicité et de confort. Un super rapport qualité / prix.

La maison de la fontaine est faite pour vous accueillir, c'est un pur bonheur de tranquillité. Ses équipements sont complets, son jardin est magnifique, sa vue sur mer est imprenable et sa situation géographique font que vous passez des moments exceptionnels. Entre mer et foret vous vous trouvez proche de toutes les grandes villes tel que Viana do Castello , Braga, Guimarães, Porto etc... ainsi que de l'Espagne. Se réveiller et prendre son petit déjeuner face à la mer que dire d'autres... Un GRAND merci à José pour son EXCELENT accueil et toutes ses attentions qui ont fleurit notre séjour.Vous n'avez qu'une envie c'est d'y rester, malheureusement les vacances ont une fin. Je n'en dirai pas plus, je vous laisse découvrir par vous même cette Casa do Chafariz exceptionnelle. Encore Merci José, nous reviendrons. Bruno & Flo.

Traumurlaub

Wer Ruhe vom Alltag sucht ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Wir haben in dem gut gepflegten und perfekt eingerichteten Ferienhäuschen eine wunderschöne Zeit verbracht. Ideal für 2 Personen. Der Garten mit Palmen und exotischen Pflanzen lädt mit seinem zentralen Brunnen zum Entspannen ein. Die Mahlzeiten, ob am vorhandenen Grill, oder in der gut ausgestatteten Küche zubereitet, haben wir unter den Palmen mit Sicht auf das nahe Meer genossen. Der unaufdringlich stets um das Wohl seiner Gäste bemühte Vermieter bereitete uns mit Blumen, Sekt und frischem Obst einen herzlichen Willkommensgruß . Seine Empfehlungen für gute Restaurants und Ausflüge erwiesen sich als Geheimtipps. Ein paar schöne, ruhige Strände, welche man leicht zu Fuß oder mit den zu Verfügung gestellten Fahrrädern erreichen kann, befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Mit dem Auto erreicht man schnell zahlreiche weitere Strände und Sehenswürdigkeiten. Gut ausgebaute, kilometerlange Fußwege am Strand entlang, oder der Jakobsweg, welcher unmittelbar am Haus vorbei führt, laden zu ausgedehnten Spaziergängen ein. 5 Autominuten vom Haus entfernt befindet sich eine großer, gut sortierter Supermarkt der einen nichts vermissen lässt. Wir waren restlos begeistert und möchten unbedingt bald wieder kommen.

Un magnifique paradis

Un accueil si chaleureux par le propriétaire qui nous a comblés par ses gentilles attentions (une maisonnette tout ce qu’il y a de plus coquet, une bouteille de vin, des fruits frais, des fleurs fraîchement coupées, du bois bien sec pour alimenter le four à bois -il faisait plutôt frais pendant notre séjour -), un site divin, des installations de tout confort et d’une propreté irréprochable, un stationnement privé, une vue sur la mer qui se trouve à un peu plus d’un kilomètre : un havre de paix. Les photos rendent bien justice à la propriété, mais il faut s’y rendre, y vivre et rencontrer le propriétaire pour en apprécier toutes les qualités. Sehr schönes Ferienhaus mit Meerblick

Wir haben Ende Oktober vier sehr angenehme Tage in diesem Ferienhaus in der Nähe von Viana do Castelo verbracht. Das Haus ist modern ausgestattet und sauber. Es befindet sich auf dem Grundstück des Gastgebers in einem ruhigen Vorort der Stadt. Alles Nötige ist in der Küche vorhanden und die Wohnung war sauber. Der Garten ist sehr gepflegt und malerisch. Die hübsche Terrasse mit Meerblick ist bei schönem Wetter fantastisch um draußen zu essen oder zu entspannen. Das Willkommen durch den Gastgeber war sehr herzlich. Zur Begrüßung gab es außerdem eine Flasche Wein, frisches Obst und süßes Gebäck. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld klappte auch sehr gut. Wir haben alle notwendigen Informationen vorab bekommen und An- und Abreise konnten flexibel und unproblematisch geregelt werden. Wer auf der Suche nach einem kleinen, aber sehr feinen Ferienhaus und einem tollen Gastgeber ist, ist hier genau richtig!

An excellent 1st class holiday

We arrived to our beautiful villa welcomed by Jose, who had gone the extra mile by providing some little surprises , ( I won't spoil it for others who stay as it is Jose attention to detail that make the holiday, mean that little bit more special) We adored the whole Portuguese experience very much and as others have said, Jose goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable. The big plus for us was the gorgeous sunshine. We would love to visit again in the near future, Gary and Chrissy Williams

Wundervoller Urlaub in der Casa do Chafariz

Wir verbrachten zwei wunderschöne Wochen im Ferienhaus von Jose´. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich.Wir fühlten uns gleich wohl. Jose´ hatte für uns einen Korb mit frischem Obst,eine Flasche Sekt, Wasser und eine Flasche Wein zur Begrüßung bereitgestellt.Das Haus und der Garten ist liebevoll gestaltet. Im Haus war alles vorhanden, was man für einen Urlaub benötigt. Man hat vom Garten eine super Aussicht auf den Atlantik. Auch zwei Fahrräder mit denen wir abends ans Meer zum Sonnenuntergang gefahren sind, standen zur Verfügung. Wir bedanken uns nochmal recht herzlich, für die sehr gute Betreuung während unseres schönen Urlaubes in Nordportugal. Wir werden diese tolle Unterkunft weiterempfehlen.

Eine wirklich sehr schöne Ferienwohnung in Viana do Castelo

Wir haben uns bei José in der Casa do Chafariz sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Häuschen ist klein, aber völlig ausreichend für zwei Personen und mit allem eingerichtet, was man braucht. Besonders schön ist der Garten mit dem Springbrunnen und der Blick auf den Atlantik, den man genießen kann. Der Vermieter José ist sehr aufmerksam und wir möchten uns bei ihm für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft und die tollen Tipps für unseren Urlaub bedanken.

Romantischer Urlaub - Wohnen wie in einem Herrenhaus aus den Rosamunde Pilcher Filmen.

Sehr herzlicher Empfang. Auch die Urlaubsvorbereitung und Buchung war sehr fürsorglich. Das Haus und der wundervoll angelegte Garten sind wunderschön. Man glaubt, man wohne in einem Herrenhaus. Der Vermieter verstärkt noch diesen Eindruck. Er behandelt seine Gäate, als sei man etwas ganz besonderes. Er ist zuvorkommend und liest jeden Wunsch von den Augen ab. Dennnoch achtet er auch auf die Privatsphäre. Wir können die Unterkunft nur empfehlen. Ein Supermarkt zum einkaufen ist ca. 400 Meter entfernt und vom Haus aus sieht man den Atlantik.

Muy cuidado y estético

Julia y yo pasamos unos días muy agradables en este alojamiento. Esta muy cuidado, al detalle, tiene de todo, ubicado en una posición privilegiada se puede comprar y echar gasolina en España que es mas barata, como disfrutar del entorno que es mucho mas barato que España o sea un lujo.
