Authentic italian home great for large groups

Overall, a great place to stay - turned out really nice and practical for our families (5 adults - children) ! Simona, the host, welcomed us in person - despite our very late... arrival at 05:30 a.m. She was really attentive and helpful whenever needed. The house is quite old but original and of typical local architecture. Very cozy and ideal for a large group! . Fully equipped with everything you might need - The washing machine is also really handy if you plan to stay for a week or longer - there are 3 sun umbrellas available too! The neighborhood is typically Sicilian and all amenities are within 3 mins walk. Really easy access to the city centre and the nearby shops and restaurants on the seafront. Overall, super value for money! Thank you very much Simona, for everything!

abbiamo soggiornato una settimana e qualche giorno nella bella villetta. eravamo un gruppo di 6 ragazzi ma lo spazio era veramente abbondate. l'appartamento è ben fornito di tutto in necessario vicino alla piattaforma marittima di ognina e a vari negozi. Molto gradita è stata la cordialità e la disponibilità del proprietario.

Charmante Jugenstilvilla

Wir haben sehr gute Tips in deuscher Sprache erhalten wo wir gut Essen und Einkaufen können. Obwohl nicht Central ist alles gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Internetverbindung (WLAN) ist im Haus vorhanden. Die Ferienwohnung war sehr sauber und charmant und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Excellent home and very friendly owner

I've had an excellent stay with my friends (group of 10) and I would recommend this house to everyone who would like an enormous and relaxing house to have their vacation in. The house has enough room for everyone, there is a lot of room outside the house and it was very close to streets with great cafés and bars. The owner was nothing but friendly and helping, even managed to adjust everything to fit our budget and needs. The house was clean and everything was in order when we arrived, and upon departure everything was handled smoothly as well. Five stars!

Very nice and spacious house

Villa Liberty is a very charming house with ancient details. Very high ceilings, big bedrooms, a wonderful view on the Etna en very peaceful. It's comfortable and the house has everything you need. The big terrace upstairs is wonderful for dining al fresco. And also the sunny sitting area in the garden is cosy for having a drink. The nearest bus stop is only 150 meters below the house and runs almost every 15 minutes during day time. It brings you right into Via Etna, the center of the town and the Piazza Duomo. Simona is a very kind host, although she wasn't able to meet us in the house. But her mother welcomed us and did everything to make our stay comfortable. Catania is a beautiful town with lots of restaurants, the famous fish market and impressive old buildings. We loved it and also the villages of Taormina and Siracusa are very much worth a visit. Sicily, we'll come back!

Vakantie in Villa Liberty

We zijn te gast geweest in Villa Liberty in Catania met 8 personen. De eigenares Simona Ajon was niet zelf aanwezig maar haar moeder heeft ons verwelkomd en ons erg gastvrij bejegend. Het huis is gedateerd maar goed onderhouden en heeft een fijne sfeer en is van alle gemakken voorzien.Bushaltes en boulevard zijn binnen 10 minuten bereikt. W hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf en raden Simona eenieder aan. Vriendelijke groet. Bert en familie.

In villa sul mare

La villa in stile Liberty con lussureggiante giardino in cui c'è l'ampio appartamento di Simona con grandi stanze ariose e chiare,una cucina dotata di ogni comfort ed una lavanderia su veranda,si trova in un quartiere tranquillo,molto vicino al mare ed a locali tipici in cui fare la celebre colazione siciliana o pranzare con del pesce fritto.È veramente un'ottima sistemazione,perché seppur in una città di media grandezza,si soggiorna ad una cifra modica in un luogo di relax pulito e ben attrezzato.Consigliatissimo!

Très belle maison

Magnifique et spacieuse ancienne maison des années 1900. Vous disposerez de l'immense appartement du 1er étage, l'appartement du rez de chaussée étant inoccupé. Grande hauteur sous plafond avec des boiseries anciennes. Jardin agréable et spacieux. Parfaitement située pour visiter les alentours de Catane. (Noto, Syracuse, Acireale, Alcantara, Etna, Taormine) Excentré cependant mais permettant de se garer sans problème. Simona est très accueillante et chaleureuse. Elle nous a offert d'excellentes glaces pour notre arrivée dans la chaleur. La climatisation avait d'ailleurs été mise en route avant notre arrivée. Quelques petits bémols : manque cruellement de confort en cuisine (vaisselle et ustensiles de cuisine insuffisants, pas de torchon, pas de lave vaisselle dans une maison avec une si grande capacité d'accueil), la déco et le mobilier sont de mauvais gout, aucun savon ou lessive à disposition, l'odeur de gaz dans la buanderie n'est pas très agréable...

Bon séjour

Grande maison avec de beaux volumes et une terrasse très appréciable. La climatisation était obligatoire vu la chaleur qu'il a fait (juste dommage qu'une des chambres n'avait pas la climatisation a l’intérieur, et qu'il fallait laissé la porte ouverte pour profiter de celle du salon). Elle est localisée dans un quartier calme et pratique pour se garer! L'accès Wifi est suffisant pour les recherches internet et finir de préparer ces vacances. La propriétaire est très accueillante et disponible en cas de problèmes et parle parfaitement le français! Petit bémol pour la batterie de cuisine et la machine a laver un peu fatigués. Au final, nous avons passé un très agréable séjour et recommandons cette location.

Wonderful

We spent wonderful 4 days in the wonderful old mansion. Everything you need is in couple of minutes walking distance: A sicilan pasticheria, a sicilian butcher, a formidable fishshop, a small backery fantastic sicilian legumes and fruits on the streetcarts we loved it. From the balcony you can look at the etna, from the sea you get fresh breeze. thx to simona!

Sonnige Tage in Catania

wir (7Personen) haben einen sehr schönen Platz in Catania gefunden. Simona ist eine reizende Gastgeberin, die mit Rat und Tat zur Seite steht und perfekt deutsch spricht. Große Zimmer, bequeme Betten, sehr sauber, hell und gemütlich. Die Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel ist eigentlich gut, es gibt mehrere Busse, die in die Stadt fahren. Leider gibt es keine Fahrpläne und deshalb muss man ab und zu geduldig sein. (Einziger kleiner Nachteil) am alten Hafen (3 Minuten) gibt es einen Imbiss, der Tische aufbaut und leckere Fische und Fleisch grillt. Wir hatten dort sehr lustige Abende. Wir würden dieses besondere Haus jederzeit weiter empfehlen. nochmal Danke für die liebevolle Bewirtung! Wolfgang und Antje

Très belle location

Nous ne pouvons que recommander cette location très propre, bien agencée et spacieuse. Simona est une propriétaire charmante et très serviable qui n'a pas hésité, entre autres, à venir nous chercher dans Catane pour nous piloter jusqu'à la villa (N° 589 de la via Messina à l'angle de la via Pittoresca). Le petit plus serait .... une cafetière électrique pour faire du café "lungo" pour plusieurs personnes en même temps. Si nous devons revenir en Sicile, ce sera à la Villa Liberty sans hésiter.

Très bon séjour

L'appartement est vraiment très agréable et spacieux, avec vue sur l'Etna; Il y a aussi un joli jardin avec un petit bassin et des poissons rouges. L'accueil de Simona est très chaleureux. La propriétaire est effectivement très sympathique et prévenante. Elle parle aussi vraiment bien le français ce qui nous a bien aidé. La maison est très bien située, dans une rue calme avec la possibilité de garer la voiture très facilement. Idéalement située, il est possible de se rendre à Syracuse , Taormina, Aciréale (etc...à)très rapidement. En une semaine, nous n'avons pas pu tout visiter ; nous reviendrons donc à la "CASA DI GELSOMINO" de Simona mais cette fois sur une période plus chaude (juin par exemple) pour visiter les gorges de l'Alcantara, la vallée de l'Anapo et surtout rencontrer l'ETNA...

Appartement très agréable et bien placé

L'appartement de Simona est très agréable et spacieux, il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour y passer quelques jours et s'y sentir chez soi. Il jouit d'une magnifique terrasse avec vue sur l'Etna, un vrai bonheur ! De plus Simona est très sympathique, elle nous a très bien accueillis et nous a conseillé de bons restaurants. Je recommande cet appartement.

Sympathische Gastgeberin und schönes Quartier

Simona, die sehr sympathische Gastgeberin, die die deutsche Sprache liebt, auch gut spricht, nahm uns mit einem großen Paket süßer sizilianischer Köstlichkeiten (die auf Sizilien am Allerseelentag gegessen werden, passend zu unserem Aufenthaltszeitraum) in Empfang (!). Das Haus und die sehr großen Zimmer sind schön und geradezu riesig und sehr gut ausgestattet, z.B. auch mit Stadtplänen und Busfahrplänen, so daß der Gang zur Touristeninformation nicht so eilig war. Die Höhe der Zimmer mit Stuckdecken schätze ich auf ca. fünfeinhalb Meter! Dazu gehören eine Terrasse mit Etnablick und kleine Balkone in den Zimmern. Nicht zu vergessen der Garten - der Name "Casa di Gelsomina" (Haus des Jasmins) ist Programm, aber auch Bougainvilleen u.a wuchern dort geradezu, was nicht heißen soll, daß er ungepflegt ist. Da im Erdgeschoß niemand mehr wohnt, steht der ganze Garten den Gästen zur Verfügung. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind entweder in der Via Messina oder unten am Hafen reichlich vorhanden. Eine Empfehlung dort ist übrigens die exzellente Bar, Gelateria etc. "Quaranta" - dort schmeckte alles Probierte köstlich! Die Busverbindung vom nördlichen Stadtteil Ognina (hübscher Ortsteil mit hübschem Fischer- und Jachthafen, während man an den großen in Catania gar nicht herankommt) ins Zentrum (4 Linien), aber auch nach Acicastello (ein sehr hübscher Ort) und Acitrezza ist sehr gut. Es gibt auch den Bahnhof Catania-Ognina, der Fußweg dorthin (vielleicht könnte man auch das schlimmste Stück mit einem der Busse fahren) ist zwar nicht sehr weit, aber zum Teil schrecklich wegen des Verkehrs (Bürgersteige sind rar, man muß ein Stück auf einer vierspurigen Straße voll wahnsinnig aggressiver Fahrer laufen - überhaupt ist der Fahrstil in Catania ein Kapitel für sich). Züge fahren von dort auch nur alle ca. anderthalb Stunden - das kann aber an den gegenwärtigen Bauarbeiten liegen und sich vielleicht wieder ändern. Die Fahrt selbst dauert bis Catania Centrale nur 4 oder 5 Minuten, das wäre also schon eine Alternative zu den Bussen - einmal haben wir mit dem 448er im Stop-and-go fast eine Stunde gebraucht, ein anderes Mal mit dem gleichen Bus nur 20 Minuten. Jeden falls war es ein unvergeßlicher Aufenthalt in der Casa di Gelsomina, und wir würden dort jederzeit wieder Urlaub machen.

Vacances de charme

"La maison du jasmin" est un très agréable appartement aux grandes pièces simplement et joliment décorées, la cuisine bien équipée et la terrasse avec vue sur l'Etna. L'accueil de Simona est des plus souriants avec un grand plateau de délicieuses biscuits.Les allentours sont assez tranquilles et les places de parking ne manquent pas. De petits magasins d'alimentation permettent de se ravitailler, même en bio. Bref, que du bohneur!

Splendide villa !

Ce vaste appartement (170 m²), situé au 1er étage d'une sublime villa d'époque de style art nouveau (style liberty en Italie), offre des prestations haut de gamme : terrasse fleurie avec vue sur l'Etna, quatre très grandes chambres avec moulures et plafonds voutés culminant à plus de 4 mètres, deux salles de bains et un jardin particulièrement bien entretenu par Simona, la charmante propriétaire de ce petit palais qui nous a réservé un accueil chaleureux et s'est montrée particulièrement prévenante et disponible. L'équipement est complet et la décoration soignée. La "casa di Gelsomino" (c'est son nom) est parfaite pour accueillir une (très) grande famille, plusieurs couples, voire même un seul ce qui fut notre cas ! Seul tout petit bémol : la batterie de cuisine mériterait d'être renouvelée. Enfin, la voiture (indispensable) se gare facilement dans une petite rue calme au pied de la maison. Adresse parfaite pour rayonner dans tout l'Est de la Sicile : Taormina, Syracusa, Noto, Ragusa, etc.

Bel appartement dans une villa

L'appartement est grand et calme et assez bien équipé. Pas loin des grands axes, Il est bien situé pour découvrir le centre ville de Catane, l'Etna, le centre de la Sicile, proche de la mer. Et pour se garer, c'est simple. Nous avons passé d'excellents moments dans cet appartement avec vue sur l'Etna. La propriétaire est vraiment très gentille et elle parle bien le français. Merci

Très belle villa sicillienne

Cathane est une grande ville et son seul intérêt est sa situation: proche de mer avec ses petits villages côtiers et à mis chemin entre L'etna et Siracuse. La villa est magnifique. C'est une très belle maison sicilienne. L'appartement est à l'étage: Il est vaste confortable et jouis d'une très belle vue sur l'Etna lorsque le temps s'y prête.

Splendido!

Casa stupenda, spazi comodissimi, attrezzatura completa. Tutto corrisponde alla descrizione e alle aspettative. La posizione è perfetta per la visita di catania e di tutti i dintorni, in centro ma in zona tranquillissima. La vista dell'Etna dal terrazzino del soggiorno da sola vale la scelta! la proprietaria è molto disponibile e gentilissima. Ci torneremo!

Abbiamo scelto Villa Libe...

Abbiamo scelto Villa Liberty dopo aver letto le recensioni e devo dire che le aspettative sono state tutte confermate in maniera positiva. La casa è situata a poca distanza dal centro di Catania ma in una zona traquilla e lontana dal traffico cittadino. La villa è dotata di camere spaziose, ben arredate tutte in stile liberty con sanitari nuovi e confort...Al nostro arrivo la proprietaria Simona ci ha accolto con un bel vassoio di pasticciera siciliana (da noi molto gradito). Come inizio vacanza non è stato niente male! Consigliamo questa location per chi ama lo stile vintage e liberty e per la cordialità e disponibilità di Simona. Inoltre è anche in una ottima posizione per raggiungere l'etna, Taormina e tutti i paesi limitrofi. Benedetta e Alessandro

Séjour magnifique, superb...

Séjour magnifique, superbement situé tout près du charmant petit port d'Ognigno, la maison est très belle, l'équipement est parfait, l'accueil a été adorable,les chambres sont superbes et très propres, nous avons passé un moment magique, les soirées apéro sur la terrasse avec vue sur l'Etna restent un souvenir merveilleux !
