About this property

An old stone house in the heart of the Apennines

In the heart of the Apoceni region of Tuscany-Emilia, between Monteia and Reggio Emilia, this stone house—tastefully renovated with the utmost respect for its architectural details— is surrounded by 2.5 hectares of private land, partly wooded and partly lawn. Located just 600 metres above sea level, the climate is cool in the summer and not too harsh even during the coldest months. A short distance away are the historic centre of Montefiorino with its medieval fortress, as well as the village of Palagano, which features a very peaceful swimming pool and sports facilities (www. Championscamp.it),, restaurants, all necessary services—from the market square to the supermarket and pharmacy). The cities of Modena, Reggio Emilia, and Lucca are very close by—less than an hour from the first two. Nearby, you’ll also find Maranello (Ferrari Museum) and Sassuolo, home to the Balnea spa (www. termesalvarola.it /balnea) and the magnificent Estensi Palace. Ideal for a holiday immersed in nature, following the rhythms of the past, and seeking complete and undisturbed tranquility.

Cozy, charming cottage surrounded by stunning landscape!

This was the perfect spot for a tranquil retreat from city life. Paolo was wonderful and kind and gave many helpful suggestions for exploring nearby villages and helped make reservations for what turned out to be our favorite meals in Emilia Romagna. We enjoyed the peace of our isolation but also enjoyed a few days trips to Bologna, Modena and Parma which was a 1-2 hour drive. We would love to come back!

Casa spettacolare

Grazie mille

Erhohlung pur in traumhafter Alleinlage

Super Haus in landschaftlich sehr schöner Alleinlage.

Hidden Gem in the Woods

We had an amazing stay at Federica and Paolo's stone house. While the pictures are nice on the site, they really do not do justice to how beautiful their house and land is. We were looking for peace and quiet and we found it! The land is approximately 5 acres. It can be a bit steep getting to the site, but it's worth it. Once you see the stone house, it is everything you think an old Italian stone farm house would be. Paolo met us in the village and then we followed him about 5 minutes through the hills. He and Federica were very communicative about any questions we had and made sure to check-in during our stay. The place was clean and stocked with all the items you would need. Only thing missing was ice cube trays :) for G and T's on the patio. It was extremely quiet and the view was beyond compare. We would definitely come back!

Bella Italia

ritrovato uni spazio d'incontro

Siamo stati molto bene.

Meravigliosa Casa

Wundervolles Haus in sehr schöner Landschaft, absolut ruhig gelegen.

A hidden gem

Don't expect to just nip out for a loaf of bread - this is a very rural property. A beautiful and thoughtful renovation, full of little delights and charming decorative touches. The garden and views are lovely and the location tranquil. Perfect for those who just need to escape for a while. Paolo, Federica and Marcella made us feel more like friends than paying customers. In fact, everyone was very welcoming. By the end of a week even the man in the local supermarket was practically family. Thanks for a great stay.
