Perfect size for family of 4. All the luxuries of home in a beautiful wooded setting. Great place to escape the heat of summer.
Host Mike could not have been nicer.
Note that this stretch of the Savage River is protected and is fly fishing only.
We don’t fish but this cabin was wonderful. The backyard right against the river is so peaceful and beautiful. Close to a lovely trail through the woods along the river. Close enough to Deep Creek lake and all the activities there. We loved it would definitely stay again. Mike was awesome!
Stayed for 3 nights and it was a perfect little cabin. Very shady and cool so if you tend to be a cold person be sure to bring sweatshirts and pants. About 30 minutes away from Deep Creek lake. Property is exactly as described. No issues at all with our stay.
Cabin was very clean and fishing was awesome. Location is perfect for Upper and Lower Savage. Close to the Potomac also. Check with the Fly Shop for flies.
House was great for our needs. Not many places you fish have a fly shop on property. Gave some great recommendations for day trips to see different water in the area. Would stay here again. Didn’t have cell service (which is my preference) - but just stating for others (Verizon) that would want to know.
Cozy 2 br cabin perfect for family of 4, friendly fly shop on site, wide lawn for casting practice or frisbee, lakes, hiking and state parks all nearby, unbeatable location for fishing the Savage River or just to beat the heat relaxing by the stream. No WiFi, dishwasher or washer-dryer.
Wonderful cabin equipped with everything you need. Everything is in excellent condition. Unfortunately for us, there was no wi-fi connection so I would suggest in the listing that they recommend guests to bring a hotspot router.
If you are a fly fisherman, you can’t beat this location. The beautiful Savage River is steps away from back door and the sound of the river passing by makes for easy sleeping. The place is nicely appointed with all the niceties of good fishing camp.
Stayed in very nice 2 bedroom cabin, has pretty much everything you need. River about 20 yards from back porch, ate breakfast on back porch every morning we were there. Very quiet and peaceful if that`s what you are looking for. Looks to be about 6 cabins there but when we were there late August, no one appeared to be renting the others. Grocery store about 20 minutes away in WV. No dishwasher or washer/dryer in our cabin, but we brought enough clothes and didn`t mind washing dishes by hand. Visited several parks around with waterfalls, Deep Creek lake. We did have wifi on our phones in the cabin. Overall really nice getaway weekend.
Picked this specifically because it is on the water and my son had fly fishing equipment to try out. 2 bedroom, small cabin was perfect size for us. Charlie at the Savage Outfitters was an excellent teacher. Due to the weather, we did end up driving to Deep Creek more than expected, which is 30 min away. Still a great accommodation and loved listening to the water right outside our patio door. Kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed as well.
Everything was easy and no hassle from start to finish. Mike is a fantastic host. The cabin is well appointed, clean and comfortable but you’ll be out on the deck listening to the river and birds or down in a comfortable chair by the reading or talking by a campfire. Five Stars!!
Beautiful location on the Savage River. Cabin fully stocked and comfortable. Enjoyed morning coffee and dinner on the porch listening to the water. Fire Pit an extra as was the close by trails. Beautiful fall colors. Hope to be back again.
Nice cozy cabins in beautiful surroundings. The listing has a few errors regarding checkout timesnand we were surprised to find that there was no Wi-Fi in the cabins. That said the owner was very responsive and courteous. Will probably be back again soon!
Retired Navy...Married to Suzanne and together we have 8 children and 7 grand children. We spend time on the Savage River, Alta Wyoming and Punta Gorda Florida.....all fantastic places. I have been fly fishing for more than 50 years and still enjoy learning.
