Deo's Alaskan Cabin is privately situated amongst the trees 130 feet behind Log Dreamin' Lodge, just a short walk through the forest to Lost Creek. The cabin was designed to be efficient & comfortable, creating a space that travelers the world over could enjoy! You can find yourself sitting on the covered porch with a hot cup of tea or sitting in front of your private fire pit, opportunities to enjoy this beautiful property are limitless!

The downstairs bedroom features a queen bed and our upstairs loft features two full beds with ample space. The bathroom is beautifully done with a shower and bathtub. You'll find the kitchen to be fully equipped for all of your cooking needs. Complimentary organic coffee & tea is provided as well. If you would like to grill up your catch of the day, feel free to use our gas BBQ located on your private porch. For a rainy day take advantage of one of our movies, free internet, books or board games, or gather around your private fire pit, a beautiful way to end a great Alaskan day!

Cabin in the woods

Beautiful setting for this small cabin! We had easy access to hiking, kayaking and downtown Seward. It was cosy for 5 adults but we made it work. We were mostly out having Alaskan adventures! Great overall!

Cute and Cozy!

This little cabin was perfect for our family of 4! Conveniently located close to Seward yet secluded enough to feel tucked away. House was fully furnished with everything you could need and mattresses were excellent! We met our hosts one evening on our way in as they were roasting marshmallows for s’mores and offered us some. They live on the premises but we only saw them once, super sweet folks! The only access to the loft is by using a ladder with handrails. For our kiddos it was no problem. Great place to stay!

Cute and Cozy

This is a darling place for 2-4 people. We were a group of 6 so it felt very crowded. We would recommend but be aware the 2nd bedroom is up a ladder and there is only one bath downstairs. Its very clean and nicely decorated.

My wife and I stayed here. Didn't do much other than sleep at the cabin but it fit the bill nicely. Clean cabin with a cool story. Would surely stay here again.

Cabin stay

The property is a small secluded cabin. There is a main cabin with residents who are very friendly and took the time to check on us when we arrived. We were an hour early, so they wanted to make sure we were suppose to be there. We stayed downstairs but there were 2 beds in a loft that would be great for kids. The only criticism I would have is a family of 4 would be tight to eat together. It would be nice to have a small smart TV upstairs and in bedroom, but that is just a personal preference. We were only there to sleep or change clothes. All in all the place was great, renters were great. We happened to be there when it was raining so didn't get a chance to start a campfire or grill outside. I would fully recommend this cabin.

Perfect little cabin!

Deo’s Cabin was the perfect stay to kick off our Alaska vacation. The cabin is so cozy & has everything you need to feel right at home. Our big kids (17 & 20) absolutely LOVED the loft area - two full sized beds & a nice amount of room to spread out. The front porch was perfect for morning coffee & evening hangouts. We were super surprised at how private the cabin feels even though it is just off the road & driveway. And the highlight was the moose that was laying in the yard one night when we got back after a day of adventures. We would definitely stay here again!

Cute cabin in a great location!

This cabin was such a great location, and decorated so cute! We also enjoyed talking to and getting pointers from the owner. The only thing that was difficult, was where to keep luggage. We were in Alaska for 10 days, so we had large bags, and it was fine keeping them in the living room, but not ideal. I did read reviews that said this, so I knew before, and booked anyway. Despite that, I would stay here again. It was such a good escape, but close enough to town to go get something pretty quick!

Life in a northern town!

We loved Seward and your property. We came in on the trains, hung out with locals, went for a short hike and did the Orca quest tour. Only negative is the stairs to the loft.

Seward in the woods- Deo’s cabin

Nice cabin away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to town! Kitchen well stocked and nice bathroom. Downstairs bedroom is only big enough for the queen size bed, very narrow walkway to get in and out and no room for suitcase. Roomy loft with 2 double beds, stairs very steep. Beautiful grounds. Good lighting.

Nice stay at deo’s cabin

We had 4 adults stay for 3 nights in August. The cabin is very nicely decorated and comfortable. It is a short drive to Seward. The upstairs loft is large but downstairs is a bit small. Difficult for more than 1 person in the kitchen and bedroom was small including no room for luggage in the bedroom. The bathroom is very nice and good size. We enjoyed relaxing on the covered porch listening to the rain. The cabin worked for our needs. I do strongly recommend the cabin just know it is a bit on the small side.

Cute little cabin.

My husband, myself and my 2 sons (ages 13, and 11) stayed in the cabin for a week. The cabin is super cute and the gardens are beautiful. Check-in was really easy and upon arrival, we met one of the owners who was really nice and provided some information on the area. My one negative comment would be that the house is not really able to support 4 people and our luggage. While there are enough beds, there really isn't enough livable space. So, while I would definitely stay here again if it was just my husband and I, I would look for something a little larger if we had more than 2 people.

Wonderful Spot!

We had a very short trip to Seward to see the whales one day and this was the perfect spot to stay! Cabin was super cute, check in was easy and everything was super clean. I had one question regarding the fire pit, and Cathy responded immediately. Definitely recommend! Great experience. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

Deo's Alaskan Cabin...
Is a dream come true for owners Jared & Jasmine Van Driessche. Both grew up in this small town of Seward, Alaska, married in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California and together started traveling the world, one of their greatest passions! Although they visited many places full of new flavors, culture, languages & terrain, they found themselves sharing stories of Alaska's beauty, adventures and soon longed to share their home with others.
It was only in 2012 that a small city in Uganda would soon become a place they would come to love. After a dear friend of theirs recommended they volunteer at Keirungi Children's Village in Kabale, Uganda they wasted no time immersing themselves in the local culture & language that embodied this small orphanage and it's surroundings. Now, those children and all of Keirungi's staff have become family to Jared & Jasmine and there was no doubt they would combine two places on opposite ends of the world to create a warm space to be shared by many travelers alike. Thus, Deo's Alaskan Cabin was born!
But, who is Deo? He is a sweet little boy that stole Jasmine's heart during their first trip. As they watched him grow, his sad story started to fade into the past & a cheeky boy, full of personality started to immerge. His humor, even so young was unlike the rest of the children & the laughter he brought was infectious. Deo opened Jared & Jasmine's hearts, taught them many valuable lessons about life and ultimately inspired them to embody that spirit, always.
Deo, despite his hardships is a happy little boy being well taken care of at Keirungi Children's Village and Jared & Jasmine would like to see to it, that not only him, but ALL the children and staff continue to have what they need. That's why they have decided to donate a percentage of their profits to this awesome children's home, doing big work!

Why they chose this property

We're two proud Seward Locals giving back locally & internationally! Jared and Jasmine believe strongly in community, both local and international. They also know you have many choices in choosing accommodation when staying in Seward, so they wanted to share how you'll be making a difference with them!
Deo's Alaskan Cabin will donate a dance scholarship for The Apex Gym to children & youth in need through the Seward Arts Council, as they strongly believe in fostering arts in the community. They will also donate to help Keirungi Children's Village with everyday needs, such as food, labor & education materials in Kabale, Uganda. They hope you'll be a part of their journey!
