Lounge in one of the private outdoor nooks and listen to the whisper of the palms. The rest we'll leave to your imagination as Ernest would do. Arriving at your cottage in the Quiet palm-laden neighborhood, you will find your Nostalgic hideaway. We now have air conditioning and central heat
Parking for 2 cars in driveway.
You'll be greeted by carpets of green, pretty garden areas, assorted fruit trees: onward into a large encircled patio and into your private domain.

A nostalgic, cozy 3 bedroom cottage 2 blocks from beautiful Moonlight Beach and the quaint beach town of Encinitas, California. Myriad activities and events offer a super time for everyone. Located between Del Mar and Oceanside. Enjoy the outside bath. On your Hemingway safari gather, stretch out, see the sunrise from one of the two cozy decks off the dining room or the bedroom.

Hemingway's adventures at your doorstep: fishing; surfing; Golf- Encinitas Range, La Costa, Torrey Pines, Aviara (Four Seasons). Legoland; Sea World; San Diego Zoo; Wild Animal Park. All Close!

Great family place!

This place was so quirky and fun. All kinds of toys for adults and kids. Ping pong table and beach toys got used a lot. The kitchen was one of the most well stocked of any. Everything we needed. Plenty of towels for shower and beach. The outdoor shower was a hit! Would rent again in the future.

Perfect location in Encinitas, west of the highway and railway tracks, 10 minute walk to Stonesteps and Moonlight Beaches, in walking distance of the main drag: coffee, ice cream, lots of food options. The house is tucked away on a quiet street. The kitchen is tight for two people, but we weren’t there to cook. We would have liked to have some microwave dishes to reheat food. The outdoor grill works great. Bedrooms are good sized with comfy beds and plenty of pillows. The property has been described as “tired,” but unlike many places we’ve stayed, the living room couch and chairs are super comfortable. The outdoor space is the best part, furniture for dining and just relaxing. Finally, we loved the outdoor shower to clean the dogs after a morning at the beach.

Family Beach Getaway

We stayed a few nights with our kids, looking to have walking access to the Encinitas beaches. The walks to Moonlight Beach and Stonesteps were peaceful and not too far for our lower elementary aged kids. They loved the toys and games in the converted garage at the house, the outdoor spaces are expansive and comfortably furnished, and we all slept very comfortably in the two bedrooms. Communication with the house manager was excellent and one or two minor issues (including me forgetting an item at the house!) were handled promptly and with great kindness. The house does show its age in some respects, but it was a great base for our beach visits and I would happily stay again!

Wonderful beach cottage!

Great property in prime location with plenty of privacy and space to relax. The wifi was great and it was nice to have cable TV. We look forward to our next visit!

GREAT Location

Loved the location of this little house. Easy beach access and walkable to everything in Encinitas. The house itself is a bit worn - furniture and carpet could use an update, doors are creaky and two panel, back sun porch area is sloped. Outside patios are amazing and practical - easy to use!

Encinitas family vacation

Perfect location, quiet and comfortable. The beds are comfortable. The home is quiet and just as pictured. It’s a short walk to moonlight beach, and we also walked to ice cream, restaurants, coffee shops. Would definitely stay there again.

Great property. Very comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood. Excellent location relative to the beach and downtown Encinitas restaurants/bars. Property was well maintained and the host was most accomodating and supportive. Greatly enjoyed our vacation and are already planning on a return trip!

Darling beach cottage!

This house is precious! The neighborhood is quiet and the house was very comfortable for the two of us. We loved coming back here each day after busy gatherings with family and friends. Highly recommend!

The cottage was adorable! Very cozy with private outdoor garden spaces to relax in. The beaches were pristine and within a 10 minute walk. The San Diego Botanical Gardens was very close. The neighborhood was charming, as well. 🌺🌷🌻

Great location

We enjoyed our week at this cute, eclectic beach house. Very well appointed and comfortable beds. Lots of fun outdoor spaces to enjoy and relax. Walking distance to beach and downtown Encinitas. Manager very helpful and mailed us a couple forgotten clothing items.

Hemingway Heavenly

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hemingway House. The location is fantastic, in easy walking distance to Moonlight Beach and "downtown" Encinitas. The house itself is cozy, comfortable, and lovingly appointed with Hemingway memorabilia. The garden and outdoor spaces are beautiful. It was very easy to return to after full days of exploring and enjoying family and friends.

Lovely home!

We found the home to be even better than we expected based on the pictures. We especially enjoyed the outdoor living room area. We found the beds to be quite comfortable, and the house was cozy and comfortable throughout. It was clean, neat, and obviously well cared for. The landscaping was pretty and inviting. The beach was fantastic and a super quick walk. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved the neighborhood. We enjoyed all the Different gardens. The kids loved the outdoor Bathroom. The bed in the one small bedroom Was smaller than we expected. The kitchen was Well equipped. We were able to Eat meals outside in the gardens. Thanks the great Experience. We would definitely stay there again.

Walkable Surf Town Charmer

Outdoor paradise, comfy beds, central heat-A/C. Walkable to beach, restaurants, etc. quiet, safe neighborhood. Good air flow-through, with screened doors abounding. Well equipped in every way. Personal touch and charm in decorative theme “The Hemingway House.” Like dropping into literary history. Comfortable new living room furniture and updated dining room table. Lovely management. I’ll be back.

It was love at first sight! All three generations of our family agreed that this cottage was perfect for not just our family but others coming to this wonderful vacation spot. The kids run down to the beach barefoot with surf boards or boogie boards to ride the waves and swim. The rest of the family joins in and soaks up the carefree atmosphere of the beach community with friends and family. Memories are being created every day.
We want to share the fun with everyone and our cottage reflects how much we take pride in our special spot!
