Ideally located for La Jolla and the surrounding areas, this house is a gem. Very comfortable and incredibly clean. My family and I enjoyed a wonderful stay. Really very special.
We loved staying at this home. It was comfortable and charming and provided us with everything we needed. It was in a beautiful neighborhood and close to everything so we could walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. We hope to go back soon!
My family and I really enjoyed staying at the property. It is in a great location and very spacious to host several people. The furniture and bed are comfortable. Some of the furniture is a little older and some sheet surfaces could use a little cleaning, but overall very wonderful property.
Good location with older house with charm. Stayed here with my teenage daughter. I loved opening the windows and letting the breeze cool the house and my daughter loves reading in the bat window. Wished we had longer to enjoy the patio.
Beautifully decorated home with plenty of space for two couples! Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and the patio was lovely for enjoying breakfast. The home is in a great location that's walkable to beaches and plenty of restaurants. Check in and out was super simple. Host was friendly and responsive to questions. Would recommend for a stay in La Jolla!
This cottage is quaint and located in a perfect spot to explore all that La Jolla has to offer. Easy walking access to village restaurants and La Jolla cove. It’s a perfect couples retreat and communicating with the property owner was a breeze. 5 stars for a memorable stay!
Stayed for our daughter's wedding. Perfect location, walking distance to the cove and wedding venue. It was also great to have a dog friendly place. Had everything we needed for our stay.
We loved the quaint charm of this home. The luxurious bedding, the books, the conversation areas, the dining room with works of art and unique details. Our girls weekend was spent in the perfect place. Thank you Anna.
This beautiful house is located a block from downtown La Jolla, Had everything we needed for a wonderful, relaxing stay. Very charming! Anna was wonderful and very responsive to all our questions. Diana and Gordon
This charming cottage decorated with antiques and, oh so many books, was perfect for our weekend. Its location made it an easy walk into town and the coast walking trail. The house was clean and had all the amenities needed, except salt and pepper in the kitchen. (I realize that’s a very minor thing.). The bed was comfortable as well. We would stay here again the next time we visit San Diego.
Wonderful property and location; shops, restaurants and groceries within walking distance. Very comfortable stay and easy communication with Anna. Some items such as paper towels and more than one dishwasher pod would be useful. Overall, a great stay and we would definitely stay there again and/ or recommend to others. Thank you Anna!
Kinda like visiting Grandma’s unique and interesting 90 year old cottage in one of America’s most beautiful “villages.”
Tons of space for 4 adults and a dog, very comfortable beds and furniture too, fantastic kitchen and laundry appliances, almost unbeatable location a couple blocks from downtown AND the coastal walk.
The property does back up to a busy street so the quaint and peaceful-looking garden usually comes with quite a bit of traffic noise. Total peace and quiet inside the house at all times though.
We would gladly stay here again.

great location. Dated and aging but clean. Hot water limited somewhat for four of us and dishwasher and washing machine I think need a tune up. Noisy. Overall though, good value for the area.

Alan,
Happy you enjoyed your time in La Jolla. The cottage was built in 1928, it's one of the early cottages in the Village, built by the well known architect Tom Sheppard. The washer and dryer are top of the line & new, as is the Wolf Range. Most of my guests enjoy the location of the cottage as well as it's charm. Best
Well, the home is charming, cute, and the location is amazing. Cute little patios and lots of charm and flora. The street behind is busy and only heard while in the backyard. Inside it is quiet. My only improvement would suggest remove much of the contents as it is overly filled. This said, it is like going to grandmas. The second shower is limited on privacy. Location makes up for 99% of the challenges. Owner is sweet.
We liked the property overall and enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much, Anna!
Things we liked:
Comfortable beds
Great main bathroom shower
Washer and dryer
Lots of seating
Lots of towels, including beach towels (so grateful to find those)
Charming older cottage in a lovely neighborhood
Walkable to La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Shores Beach (there is a coastal trail a short walk down Park Row) and shops
Responsive host
Things we didn't like:
The kitchen gets extremely hot when using the oven.
Torrey Pines Road is SO LOUD. It was not peaceful to spend time on the patio, which was sad because the patio is beautiful.
La Jolla is a great place to vacation and we are happy that we had a chance to visit and stay in Anna's home.
Endless hot water
Love. Love the property. I am already planning another visit. I enjoyed the location. I was able to urban hike, walk, run and. visit the nearby shops and beaches. I was concerned about the traffic noise, but it wasn't an issue, even with the windows open. At times. I heard "traffic", but overall great location for everything. The only thing that I had a little problem with was working the keys and locks on the door, and screen doors. Loved the large kitchen, and amenities for cooking, beverages and food service.
I had my sister over for lunch, and she showed interest for making reservations for her own stay. Thank you. I felt like I was at home.

Cute & Quaint cottage, about 100 years old, showing its age.
It is old, cute, comfy, cozy, and under-maintained. There is lots of art and decorations. One spouse did not notice the street noise and the other spouse noticed it constantly. There was absolutely no parking at the property. There is no driveway. There is no garage. If you leave during the middle of the day you may have to park about 3 or 4 blocks away in order to park your car. We had to walk 4 blocks with our groceries when left in the middle of the day. The carpet is gross and disgustingly stained.

Close to shops and restaurants
Although we did like the location we found parking to be a nightmare at the property. There is street parking but many times we had to park blocks away. My husband uses a walker so this was impossible for him. And I had to spend at least 30 minutes just to find parking and walk back to the home.
Also when we arrived the home was very musty even with the windows open. With the higher temps and humidity the home was very warm most of the day and evening but the 2 fans were great in the MBR so we could sleep. We did enjoy Lajolla and the wonderful restaurants and being by the ocean. Unfortunately we would not rebook due to the parking issues.

I'm am very sorry to read about your disappointing experience, I wished you had called me while staying, there is a small spot across the street that works for most of my guests, day parkers must assume it part of the 2 driveways on either side, one of my neighbors lives here part time and permits me to use their driveway. I haven't had any guests mention musty smells, nor could I smell what you have described, perhaps it's being close to the beach, rather than the dry desert air. I hate to hear that any of my guests are unhappy, especially after the fact when I may have been able to resolve some of your discomfort. Thank you for your feed back.
Great location, great host, the house smells musty
As soon as we entered the house we were aware that it smelled very musty. Running the dehumidifer for two days did little to improve the problem. Opening windows, once the rain stopped, helped a little, but the smell came back. The house looks to be about 100 years-old, and the host has put some effort into redoing the kitchen and bathroom. But the house really needs a good code of paint. The host was very responsive to questions and when I suggested she needed a plumber to look at a leak in the water heater. Maybe wait until the rainy season ends before staying here.

Todd,
Yes we have a time of it with the rain in California, everything is soaked including the ground, turning up the heat and dehumidifiers help but everything is wet.
The washing machine had been over loaded with soap, this is why you saw some puddling of water., no leaks.
Thank you for your input on the paint.

I grew up in La Jolla and I am still awed by it's beauty. Beautiful ocean, wonderful hikes and local farmers market are some of my favorite things to do in this place I call home. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
