Tawnya,
Thanks for pointing out some of the many features this home has to offer. Sitting in the cove's "pole position" it has the easiest path to the dock and the longest afternoon sunlight.
John
Tracy, I am glad you enjoyed Cedar Cove and Norris Lake. This cabin is sitting right on the "pole Position."
I hope your spirited group comes back for more Norris fun. Thanks, John
14 family members ranging from 10-75 in age enjoyed this home without getting into each others way! The large kitchen with 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers, 2 microwaves and 2 frig made our cooking meals easy peasey. Comfy beds. Easy walk to dock and lake. The owner was easy to communicate with as well as the property manager. We will book Cedar Cove in the future!
The house was big enough for 9 families without us being on top of each other. The location was great and we had a wonderful time. I would recommend this home for other large groups.
The downside is the furnishings are a bit worn and some of the mattresses were uncomfortable.

Awesome week - beautiful house!
We went down with a group from our church and had an awesome week. This house was huge and fit us perfectly and wasn't overpriced. We had 33 people and we were worried about kitchen space with everyone's food. We had plenty of room with the doubles of everything in the kitchen (double dishwasher was a lifesaver!!)
Everyone had a great time and the place was awesome. John was super helpful with everything leading up to the trip and was always speedy on responses. We will definitely be back next year! :)

Kate,
I am glad you all had a good time. Your group was fun.
We will see you all again next May.
Thanks,
John
The house was a great size for our large family. There was enough room for everyone. Our only complaint was that none of the many TVs throughout the house had batteries or working batteries in them. They were either missing or dead. So that was a little frustrating when it came time to listen to music downstairs while playing pool, or watching college football on Saturday. Normally, we wouldn ’t be worried about the TVs, but Hurricane Helene was dumping water outside for days. It did not stop us from swimming in the lake which was still warm, and using the slide on the dock which was a blast. Overall it was an excellent trip and we made the best of crappy weather.
We all enjoyed the lake, the house does need a lot of work. You have to make your own bed, (not an issue) but our sheets were wet when we arrived. The house is in need of repair, the dryer doesn't work well, neither do the refrigerators. We did have plenty of room but I think the house needs a cleaning crew, not just one person, it is dirty. The cove is a great place to swim. The upper deck only had two chairs, one of which is broken. The couches are very stained and dirty. We expected a cleaner house for what we paid. The location and neighborhood are great.
Cedar Cove was absolutely perfect for our large family reunion! The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacey and just as described. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we ranged from ages 10-75. Loved having two stoves, two refrigerators, two dishwashers, and two kitchen sinks in the same space. There was plenty of room for everyone to eat together and enjoy indoor time together. The large gas grill and fabulous dock brought the great outdoors to us. Televisions were everywhere and we all could watch movies and games together. If there was a complaint it would have been that the water in the lake was very low and we did not feel comfortable using the slide on the dock because not enough depth In lake and lots of logs and rocks sticking up. We realize that VRBO had no control of that but should we come again we would try to determine earlier what the lake situation would be. Definitely would recommend.

Diane,
You provided a spectacular illustration of this very special and wildly popular cabin.
With the lack of rain all summer the lake level did suffer greatly.
John
It was great to have 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, and 2 ovens/ stoves for our large group. There were ample bedrooms and baths. Washer and dryer were relatively new and nice. The dock was also very nice. The owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with. He gave us great directions for finding the place. Another plus is that there are only about 50 steps from lower level of house to boat dock. Some homes are located up multiple stairs but this one is not and we appreciated that.
The biggest disappointment was that the home was a little shabby. Some upper bunk bed’s underlining was falling down, lamps by bedsides didn’t work or were not provided, and the house could use some major sprucing up. The houses in the cove are close together and some groups stayed up very late with loud parties. Others got up early and raced their remote control boats— at 6:30 am.
Even though the house needs some TLC, we had a fun week and enjoyed our time there.

maryellen,
I am glad you pointed out all the fantastic features this spectacular property has to offer including the rare, close proximity to the nicest, most expensive dock in the cove.
We'll work on those new lamps & bunks. Good luck finding your remote/isolated waterfront property on the wildly popular Norris Lake.
Our family had a great time! If you are looking for a basic home for a large group in a great location for a reasonable price, this is your place. If you are looking for a perfectly decorated, high end luxury home, this is not your place. It was our first time at Norris Lake we and fell in love with the beauty and fun. It did rain on and off during our stay but we still had plenty of time to boat and swim. The dock and slide were a big hit with the kids and adults. The cove was like the end of a cul-de-sac with room for the kids to swim and play in the water.
Pros: Lots of rooms, great for large groups, beautiful cove location with no fast boats or traffic, nice new dock with slide, fire pit, hot tub, double kitchen, and plenty of parking. Game room tucked away in the basement for kid to play away from the adults.
Cons: You need to bring ALL soaps and paper products and you need to make your own beds upon arrival. This is clearly stated in the description and I’m sure this is to keep costs down, just be prepared. The bed linens and mattresses are a bit worn out, so if you are picky about that, bring your own sheets. The house and furniture could use some cosmetic maintenance, but everything functioned well. (We did need to reattach the dryer vent, but it worked fine after).
Overall, I would stay again. We looked at dozens of homes in the area and for the price, this house is a great value.
The kitchen was wonderful, bedrooms were great. Over all it was a great home. We are coming next year.

Family reunion
The house had plenty of space and bathrooms which was great. The house was not cleaned very well as many of the sheets had stains so we washed and cleaned the house up a bit. Other than That it was a great stay.
Great location on Norris Lake. Since this is the off-season it was quiet and peaceful. Great place to paddle board! The house is perfect for large groups. However, it is well used, needs some maintenance and some new bed sheets and towels. The maintenance items mentioned in previous reviews are correct. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars. But we did enjoy our stay there.
We enjoyed our stay been staying couple times a year at Norris lake this was one of the better homes we rented air conditioner an fridges kept everything cool
Plenty of space for our group
The property was pretty clean. The house was clean. This house is well used. It is not elegant or fancy. It was an average house for lots of people to enjoy each other’s company, which is what we wanted. If you want elegant, this is not the place for you. Definitely need new sheets! The bottom sheet would not stay on the most of the beds. The oven in the left side does not heat properly and the toaster is broken. The 3 refrigerators we perfect! We had the best time celebrating our parents 50th wedding anniversary. Plenty of room for 20-25 people. The decks were perfect. The dock is great. In the cove there is more debris in the water, but overall the water is very clean. We would rent it again for a family gathering. A boat is a must to fully enjoy the beauty and the lake.
We had a family reunion and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms were awesome. Some weren’t able to attend last minute but we had 20 people which meant we had a ton of space! One thing to keep in mind is this location is past the jumping bridge so don’t reserve a double decker boat. We were lucky that the marina had another boat to accommodate the bridge. The kids loved the slide and jumping off the top of the deck, it was a fabulous time!
Big house - need more toilet paper
Add tissues to each bathroom
Add wall hooks in every room or stand alone closets. Some rooms had very very little space to hang clothes.
One bottle of hand soap in every bath.
Add electric to dock. If not at least to dock steps.
Family friendly with 2 of everything in the kitchen
We spent MLK weekend for our family Christmas getaway. We are all cooks so having 2 fridges, 2 sinks, 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers and 2 microwaves made meal prep easier.

Donna,
The dual kitchen has been a big hit. I thank you for the 5 stars. You and the other 'chefs' are certainly welcome back anytime. John
The kitchen with double ovens and refrigerators, the amount of space, bedrooms, bathrooms was awesome! We had plenty of room. The hot tub with the fire place so nearby was convenient. The owner was a great communicator. The whole cove had a friendly respectful vibe. We loved our stay and would go back every summer.
Great place for kayakers and close to the jumping bridge and marina. The house had plenty of room for everyone! Nice game room for that one rainy night!
Thanks for a great family get away!!
We chose this house because of the number of bedrooms and the online pictures. Would we stay there again? It wouldn’t be our first choice. The management team was great to work with, but they are managing a house that has seen lots of traffic and needs updates and tender loving care. Some are simple fixes - deep pocket sheets that stay on the bed all night for all the beds would be wonderful. Others updates will take more time and money - like repairing stair treads with nailheads poking through and replacing carpet that has seen better days; sticky doors, a bathroom doorknob that doesn’t lock; and perhaps updated kitchen appliances. They are very honest about the freezers inability to make ice on move in day. By midweek we had full ice buckets. There are two dishwashers, only one worked while we were there. There is a four slice toaster, only 2 of the slots worked. The master bath is beautiful, but the drain plug on the tub doesn’t work. So for us, it was a nice house, but….
However, we were impressed with the cleanliness, the large capacity washer and dryer, the well stocked kitchen cupboards - plenty of utensils, small kitchen appliances, LOTS of coffee mugs, and having 2 coffee pots was clutch. The guys loved all the TV’s.
The outdoor furniture was ok. It was nice to have a dozen or so chairs by the fire pit, the dock area could use some updated furniture.
We knew the house was at the end of a cove, but be forewarned, it takes at least 10 minutes to get to open water - and then you’ll need to slow down again because of the traffic at the jumping bridge. The jumping bridge was lots of fun for the brave-hearted in our crew!
Ultimately for us vacation is about the people you are with, a house this size allowed us to spend a week with people we love. For that we are very thankful.
