Beautiful Property In Historic Highland w/ Hot Tub & Expansive Pool!

5000 sqft. house set on a beautiful lot backed to a nature reserved park. Total of five bedrooms, three and half bathrooms. Four large bedrooms with three queen beds, one double, one single and a fold out couch on the second floor. A mother-in-law suite with a single bed, king bed, and a private kitchen on the first floor. Large eat-in gourmet kitchen, formal dining room, three entertaining rooms, private deck over looking inground pool. Off street parking on a large driveway.

Our property is very convenient and a super private spot! It is just a 5-minute car ride away from downtown, 7-minute car ride from airport. The best part is that it's only a 5-minute WALK from Bardstown Road (where all the great shops, restaurants, and bars are)!

The pool is Open from May 15 to October 15 and will be heated from September 15 through October 15.

Gas grill on the deck and propane is always available for you. Keurig coffee maker with pods are available.

The house has lots of space for a big group. It was clean and we appreciated the supply of beach towels. It is not a 5 minute walk to Bardstown Rd as it is 1.5 miles away. The steps to the pool from the deck are a little difficult. Main floor bath has a great shower.

5th annual family girls’ weekend at this Vrbo was so fun! 10 of us had a great time hanging out at the pool. There was so much room for all of us to spread out. The house was very clean and even bigger in person. Check in easy and Niloo very responsive in communication. Zero issues. Kitchen is large and well equipped. We cooked breakfast daily and grilled dinner one day. Highly recommend this home. Airport is conveniently close by.

Family Vacation

We spent a week at the house and had a fabulous time! There were 14 of us and there was room for everyone! The pool is a salt water pool, which was a real bonus and the young kids loved the playroom! The kitchen is huge and there is plenty of seating area for meals. We'd booked it a year in advance and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

Archery trip rental

We had 4 grandchildren shooting at the National archery tournament so we turned it into a mini vacation. Very nice neighborhood under 15 minutes travel time to all the locations we needed to visit. Louisville is always a good time!

Thanksgiving Family Gathering

We were very very pleased with this property. The communication with the owner was prompt, courteous, helpful and very responsive. I would absolutely stay here again if I am to return to Louisville and would highly recommend this property.

Nice house, nice neighborhood

We stayed here with a group of families/friends for an event in the area. It was a great house, plenty of space for all of our families to sleep, eat, gather and relax. The hot tub didn’t work great, but the kids sure enjoyed the pool! We will be back!!

This home met all of our needs perfectly! We had four generations there Tthe first floor bedroom was perfect for my mother(88) while my husband and myself were in the attached bedroom. The bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs worked well for our children and grandchildren The house had great appliances and gas grill which enabled us the cook all of our meals, saving money. We loved the location, so close to everything

Bourbon getaway

Great getaway weekend with family and friends. There were 12 adults all over 25 yrs. The house was just as described and perfectly suited our needs. Very clean and everything needed for our stay. Check in process was super easy and our host was easy to communicate with. Only suggestion we would make is for written directions for the cable tv use...it took a bit to figure out how to access the guide and available channels. Would definitely stay here again!

Great house

The house was beautiful on the inside, a mix of old and new! We had nine adults staying at the house and had plenty of room and a bed for everyone! The neighborhood was well kept and very quiet. Close to the airport along with downtown. The house has a pool, but needed work and was unavailable. The owner reached out and offered us a lower price. He was easy to work with and very responsive! Great house and great location!

Spacious Home

The home worked out extremely well for our family of seven adults and one toddler. The high chair and blocks were nice for my grandson. Lots of comfortable spaces to sleep and play in and a well stocked kitchen . The host was extremely responsive and accommodating! No sidewalks right near the house but we went to many parks with short car rides. Thank you

Great house for large group getaway

My friends and I stayed in the house for our annual buddies golf trip and it was perfect. The house is in a great neighborhood and very convenient to access city attractions. More importantly for us, the house accommodated our large groups of guys with several comfortable beds and multiple areas for relaxing, playing games, eating, etc. Kitchen was fully stocked and we took advantage of the quality grill. Deck areas were large with plenty of seating. We didn’t make much use of them because of the heat, but it looked perfect for mild days. We did spend plenty of time in the pool. Despite the extreme heat, the pool stayed relatively cool and was roomy enough for 10 big fellas. A perfect place to cool off and unwind after extremely hot days on the golf course. The house has a lot of charm and some quirky decor/features as you can see in the pictures.

Pros and Cons

This property had many positives. The owner/property manager responded when notified of issues. They supplied plenty of coffee, spices, pool towels, paper products, ice. The pool was great and definitely needed during some HOT weather! There was plenty of space for our group of 11 and beds were pretty comfortable. The location was within 10-15 minutes of all of our activities. The Xbox and upstairs family room were great for our kids. There were also several negatives. The listing itself is misleading and needs to be updated. We wanted a walkable location and chose this house due to the statement that it was within a 5 minute walk of Bardstown Road. It is about a mile from Bardstown Road, a 30 minute walk. There are no sidewalks in the immediate neighborhood and you have to walk through the grass along a busy road to get to a sidewalk to walk anywhere. That was disappointing. The landscaping needs some attention to make the outdoor area more pleasant. We had several issues within the first 36 hours of our stay. We contacted the owner/property manager and they took care of those problems in a timely manner. Some updating and TLC would probably have prevented those issues. The owner/property manager is working with us to compensate us for the inconvenience this caused but it was a rough start to our family vacation. Some care and updating of the listing and home could make this a very pleasant rental for large groups.

good location, many nice features - but some things to guard against

Overall this house is good if you have a very large group that needs a lot of space, and you cannot beat the location. The owners were very lovely people, and left nice amenities like drinks and some food for us in the fridge which was very kind. There were plenty of towels for the pool and tons of room - again if we had a crash pad of folks there for the derby it would have been fine. As a family of 8 that had higher expectations at the price we paid we had some things we wished we had known. This house has some things that really need some maintenance, cleaning and repairs. The Air conditioning upstairs dose not work evenly - so the master suite is much hotter than the rest of the rooms - so either some rooms are freezing or the master is a minimum 7+ degrees warmer - really uncomfortable. The owners were quite proud that the swimming pool was recently redone but please be extremely careful my niece fell and hit her head only to be followed by my sister in law - whatever material was used on the stairs was exceptionally slippery and a bit scary. The house is in a bit of disrepair, the stains on the mattresses were very disturbing, overall it is it needs some tender loving care e.g. the stove and grill ignitor didn't work. The laundry room had an infestation of bees - so we couldn't wash any clothing - which is one of the reasons we selected this property. When we texted the owners regarding the grill/stove and all the lighters in the house were out of butane - we didn't hear back for several hours and decided to buy our own matches so we could cook, and given the response didn't deal with the other items that surely would just further disrupt our stay. They did however eagerly text us before checkout to see when we were leaving, and also told us check-in was 3 hours later than advertised.
