We spent a very relaxed bank holiday weekend at this lovely bright comfortable property.Jen is a perfect host and we had everything we needed for our three night stay.We would recommend this property to any one who is looking for a relaxing, peaceful break in the country side.
A beautiful, well provisioned property and the views are fabulous. Jen was a pleasure to deal with and made sure everything was ok for us. We hope to be coming back soon. We had planned to visit lots of places in the surrounding area as it's a great base to explore from, but we felt so relaxed here, we barely went out If you do venture out there are several castles, an aquaduct, some good walks and plenty of places to eat and drink in easy driving distance
A lovely barn conversion with nice modern fittings. Excellent views over the countryside. Perfect for getting away from it all but also a good base for exploring the region.
The Gig House is a perfect getaway retreat in the most fabulous location. The views are stunning and the house well furnished and equipped. Would highly recommend.
A well appointed property in the most peaceful setting. We used it as a rest stop and base to visit the Llangollen railway. Oswestry was lovely and we met so many friendly people.
We had an amazing time, loved every minute of the gig house, the place itself is perfect you couldnt possibly want for more inside and out .We will definitely be returning to this gem of a property in the future.
The Gig was even better than we had expected from the description and photos. It was the ideal place to stay for 3 nights to attend a local wedding. The place was very clean and well equipped, we had everything we needed. The design of the house is very clever and a lovely space to spend time in. Our hosts were really friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable! The view superb. Just perfect.
The property is in a remarkable position with amazing views close to all facilities you need in Oswestry. The property is fully equipped to a high standard and is very comfortable.
We stayed for four weeks while we were in between properties. We had a lovely welcome, but we were then left to have complete privacy. It is so quiet & picturesque. We will probably return for a chill out at some time.
If you like being away from it all, being immersed in the countryside (right on the Shropshire/Welsh border) with gorgeous views and foraging badgers for companions, then this is the place. The ‘gig house’ is spotlessly clean, with modern decor and just about everything you could need including logs for the burner, staples in the cupboards, a smart coffee machine and good wi-fi. Highly recommended.
Wonderful hidden gem in the depths of the rural Shropshire countryside. The property is a real delight full of character and charm. Look forward to staying there again in the near future.
The owner was extremely helpful and the property was clean and as described. You won't be disappointed!
Nice property
Fantastic location.
Peace and quiet
Well equipped kitchen
Plentiful supply of logs
Downside was no instructions for coffee maker.
Bathroom was a bit grubby- cobwebs and tiles where floor joined walls could do with a scrub.
But overall we enjoyed our stay
Absolutely faultless hospitality - beautiful home, with everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. The views are heavenly and the walks in the immediate area were perfect (see the very helpful guides provided). One of the nicest breaks we've ever had.
