The rental was comfortable and in a nice location. Unfortunately, with eight guests we were only provided seven towels and two washcloths. It may seem like a small detail, but it did impact our experience.
The cabin is beautiful, the location perfect, and the surroundings a dream. Unfortunately, the cabin was dirty—filled with spider webs and spiders, and the vents were full of dust, as was the rest of the cabin. We are allergic to dust and struggled to breathe. The bathtub in the downstairs bathroom was dirty, with actual dirt in it. I am sad to report this, because if it weren’t for these issues, it would have been an amazing experience.
Wifi did not work. Otherwise everything else was great. Spent quality time with my son and daughter in law and my two small grand kids. They love it. It was quiet and relaxing. Loved the lake, beautiful scenery.
Awesome property for our 4th of July at Big Bear Lake! Location near Snow Summit was close to Big Bear Marina for pontoon boat fishing, fireworks at Ski Beach Park, hiking at Snow Summit and the Big Bear Zoo. Check-in was quick and smooth and garbage disposal at 2 drop-off sites was really nice. The property was clean and roomy for 5 adults.
This was a nice house with a great location. Not lakeside but that’s only a 4 minute drive. Super close to ski summit. Check in was easy. My kids and I spent the 4th of July weekend here. However, the house had some downsides. The house itself was super clean and has everything you need to get by. Maintenance and TLC is where it lacks. We couldn’t get in because the front door handle was worn out and broke. Maintenance had to let us in. The shower heads leak and spray all over also the screws that hold the shower handle base plate on are falling out, couldn’t turn the handle so I screwed them in partially. The pool table is a balancing act, one good bump and it’s going over. The best one yet, I nearly cut my toe open as they have a nail at the top stair tread holding the carpet down I guess, it isn’t flush which makes it a hazard. I stepped on it several times even though I knew it was there. If the wrong person rents this place a law suit could happen if they do cut their foot.Ants were everywhere on the bathroom counters and occasionally on the kitchen counters. These items aren’t that hard to fix and not that costly, could save them a ton of headache down the road. We have a cabin in the woods in another state and have bugs and don’t mind them to a degree, but this one could use a good exterminator more frequently. Overall good place and with some minor maintenance/ upgrades could be better. We would stay again due to location.
Everything looked good when I was reading about the cabin online. They communicate thru email and text. They give you an address where to go to check in at 3 pm. When we get there at 3 pm . No one is there so after several minutes of waiting I call the number and they tell me check in is virtual thru email. They should have made that more clear instead of us going to the check in address and wasting time. When we get to the cabin everything looked good but after a couple of hours we start noticing things wrong with the cabin. First one of the windows is missing blinds so we had to get creative and find a way to cover the window especially at night because we didn’t want to feel like anyone could be peeping thru the first floor window at us especially when it’s really dark outside. Second we noticed the heater was not heating that night so it was pretty cold that first night. 3rd we wanted to try the jacuzzi but when we looked at the water it was pretty dirty and there was a dead squirrel at the bottom of the tub. So no jacuzzi that night. I called the management early the next morning so they said they would send someone for the heater and jacuzzi. When we were about to leave that morning to go to snow summit the heater guy came so we had to wait a few minutes for him to replace the thermostat so that delayed our morning plans. The only other issue we had was on our last day to check out was 11:00 am. If you forgot anything after that you have to wait for the cleaners.

The home was covered in rodent feces when we arrived. All over the kitchen, including in the drawers, countertops, cooktop and inside the toaster. Every bed had droppings on the covers, inside the sheets and on top of pillows. The living room had droppings on the couches. There was also long hair in the sheets, and some food stuck to the dining table. We contacted the property management company immediately upon arrival (4:55pm) and were promised someone would be there within 45 minutes to assess the situation and either deep clean or move us to another rental. No one ever called, no one ever came. We called 3 times and by 10pm gave up and had to go to the store to purchase our own cleaning supplies (the cabin has absolutely no supplies whatsoever) and were up until 2am washing sheets, quilts and scrubbing all living areas. We had to be at an event at 7am so this was extremely stressful. Upon departure, we still never heard from the host, we sent many photos showing the infestation issues and no reply was ever given. We were unable to cook any meals in the cabin due to everything being contaminated which added additional cost to the trip, along with the cleaning supplies purchased. We live full time in the mountains, I understand that sometimes these things can happen- what is not acceptable is being ghosted by the property management company when the place is uninhabitable without massive cleaning. Hopefully the homeowner finds a new company to manage their property!
Stayed there for the proximity to Snow Summit and the hot tub. Both worked out well.

Summit Estates
We had a very nice time at this property. The cul-de-sac location was ideal, and since it was mid-Sept, no one else was there. The house was recently vacuumed and was dusted fully. The home was comfortable and the 4 of us had plenty of room.
However, there are many maintenance issues that require attention: the door lock is a bit wonky, and really could stand to be replaced. A lock box or keypad code would be less time consuming, as well (esp. since there'
is construction and detours to get to the key pick-up location).
In addition, the pool table needs to be levelled, the DR table top needs to be stabilized; It would be helpful to have directions on activating the house heater and the alarm system, as well as for the spa. Regarding the spa, though we could enjoy the heated water, only 1 set of jets worked, and most dials were broken off, the control pad was not in full operation.
Since our arrival was scheduled, we would have expected the spa to be ready, heated and maintained, as well as having the cover swept of pooling water and debris (FYI, the cover is damaged and has a large dent in the middle). The deck should have been swept clean, rather than being covered with much dust and debris.
All coffee cups in the cabinet were unclean, and required washing before using, one was fully cracked and leaking.
There were items left in the dishwasher, which we didn't notice until we left, since we hand washed all our used items.
In closing, more attention by the cleaning crew is needed. There is a large cleaning payment required before renting, and we would expect more detailed attention to both inside and outside.
The family had a great time staying here. The location is central and close to everything that we did, from renting a pontoon to fish off of, grocery shopping & taking kids to speedway. The house was clean & property contact was very friendly. Very good experience.
Convenient location to snow summit.
Surprise by the location when I arrived, May consider digital lock as a post to old fashion lock, for security purposes but they did have a security system, That we got to see actually works
Great location. Nice place. We enjoyed our stay. If I am going to critique, the beds are hard and linens are rough. Not enough towels considering spa available at property.
This is a five minute walk to snow summit lift lines. It made our life so easy on a busy ski weekend. The check in process was a little difficult as the pick up for the key is not close to the property and we got in in the dark and it was not easy to find. The house was comfortable and fit our needs.
