Very Remote and Not as Represented

The house's location was not as described. It was not 2 to 3 km from Cortona but a 20-minute drive up a mountain from the town's center. Forget about any thought of walking or taking a short drive to town to retrieve early morning cornetti. For that matter, to walk anywhere from the house; it is very isolated. The access road is an impassable .4 mile, single-lane dirt road with a steep drop-off. At night, it is dangerous should you meet a car coming from the opposite direction. Ownership did not respond to the misrepresentations, non-functioning 2nd floor shower, etc. We booked for two-weeks but left after one-week to stay at another Cortona location.

I think it is no more shameful thing to say, in twenty years of rent no one has ever taken 20 minutes to get to Cortona in the city center, the house is 5km away and who takes 20 minutes to do 5 km ?? get to the house and 500 m with a 10% slope to be exact (verifiable on Google earth) and it is very difficult to meet other cars since there is my house and another rarely rented one also it would be good to look at the road to avoid to get lost. The house is isolated and it is written in the description it is in the middle of a wood and it is wonderful to take beautiful walks, the shower on the second floor that did not work you never said it and vrbo is a witness since in the messages I was never mentioned , instead I was sent some pictures saying that the air conditioning machines did not work, too bad that in the photo, you can see very well, the machines were all on off and no machine works on off, and you put it on off since i left the house with the cars all on cars, so you did not declare the truth, the truth and that you did not like the house immediately and this is not important, instead it would be very honest to admit that you made a mistake, and immediately you have put yourself in the situation of only annoying and creating problems in order to demand a refund that is not due to you since you have never complained to the assistance and that you expect me to be paid by vrbo and not by you, which is never happened in so many years, the house has a very clear profile anyone can see how it is, besides having never told me anything about the shower not working ... which I can hardly believe since the guest today said that everything is perfect for me you also put it in trouble because if it really didn't work I would have to call a technician to fix it and fix it for the next guest. Also, since I didn't trust it, I also had to make a call to the air conditioning technician that I should have charged you since you had moved all the knobs of the machines in every room to off. I really hope not to meet such unethical and crafty people who demand ridiculous things, I advise you to look carefully at the profiles of the next houses and to stop creating problems for those who do their job in an honest way, I am very sorry that my house there. has given stay, it is a wonderful place that can not please but this is your business and not mine, I can hardly believe anyway that with the things I have said about you another host will host you.

5 day trip

Lovely house, getting to it was a little difficult on the stoned forest path (our car was not fit for off-road!) but the pool and view were fantastic. The house itself is very secluded which is fun in good weather but we had a lot of rain so we had limited options for entertainment (the weather of course was by no means the host's fault!) Host was very friendly and very helpful when we had any requests. Cortona is a lovely little town and close by.

Casa molto bella, ricca di optionals, bellissimo il panorama, la piscina, la terrazza con lo spazio per il pranzo. Uniche note negative, tanti tafani in piscina in alcuni giorni caldi, la strada complicata da percorrere per lo sterrato e troppi soprammobili che non consentono una pulizia approfondita. Proprietari molto disponibili e sempre pronti per risolvere eventuali problematiche. Spazio perfetto per 3 famiglie.

Casa S. Egidio is a beautiful period property with stunning views over Cortona & the valley beyond.

My wife, two teenage children and I have just come back from a wonderful weeks holiday in Tuscany. We stayed at Casa S. Egidio, which is a beautiful period property, nestled in a stunning hillside location overlooking Cortona and the valley beyond, with the Chianti hills in the distance. The house has been very recently and tastefully refurbished. The house is very well equipped and whilst we did eat out on several occasions, we actually spent a lot of our holiday at the house, relaxing in and around the pool and catering for ourselves. The views from the table on the terrace outside the kitchen (where we ate our breakfast, lunch and dinner by candlelight) are breathtaking. When we were there the heatwave meant average temperatures of 40c so we were very grateful for the air conditioning and the swimming pool! We definitely would like to return Casa S. Egidio and next time we will do so for two weeks. In the run up to, and during, our stay both the owner and the local management company were very helpful and responsive to any questions we had. This is the first time I've booked a vacation home through HomeAway. I'm pleased to say I've had a very good first experience and will be doing it again.
