About this property
Fabulous one double bedroom flat in garden setting by the river in Battersea
Just across the road from The Thames. Set in mature and attractive gardens, this generously-sized one double bedroom flat is newly refurbished in a classically-contemporary style. Just 200 metres from trendy Battersea Square, there are vast numbers of great restaurants and bars within minute's walking distance. Or promenade along the lovely river walk and cross Battersea Bridge to Chelsea, just an easy and scenic12 minutes walk away from the flat. Located in a purpose-built Edwardian gated complex with its own well-tended gardens, where in the right weather you can sit outside with a drink or picnic. Just across from us, there is a small park, including a municipal tennis court which is free to use.
GETTING ABOUT! The nearest station is Clapham Junction (Europe's busiest railway station!), a 10 minute walk away. From Clapham it is a 7 minute journey to Victoria, Waterloo or 35 minutes to Gatwick Airport.
There is a super-convenient bus stop just outside our complex which can take you to Chelsea, Pimlico and Victoria or towards Clapham Junction ( just 5 minutes away) and Roehampton.
We are also an easy riverside stroll from the Plantation Wharf stop for the Riverbus, which takes you east along the Thames, past the Houses of Parliament and on to some of the most iconic London landmarks, or west to Hampton Court Palace. An easy and civilised way of getting about and taking in the City! There is also a 'city bike' rank just outside our complex.
As we have tried to explain in the information regarding the apartment...its is NOT particularly near an underground station.
However, it IS at the centre of several red bus routes which will take you everywhere you would ever need to go, and they run regularly, conveniently (you just use your contactless card), and they are clean and civilised. I have been on buses is some US cities, and they are not like those! Above all, you can sight see en route, and they are rarely full......unlike the underground. Riding along on the top deck of a red London bus is one of the MUST DO things to do in London! The 170 bus stops right outside our complex, and numerous other really useful routes are available at a stop 6 minute walk away.
In addition to this, we are a close stroll along the river to Plantation Wharf river bus stop. This is THE BEST way of travelling right into the centre of London in a civilised and scenic cruise, going past loads of landmarks, including the House of Parliament! The cost is only slightly more than the tube, and, incidentally, the cost of the bus is somewhat less than a typical tube fare.
In addition to this, the location of the apartment is terrific for walking around Battersea, along the riverside to beautiful Battersea Park, or into historic Chelsea and the famous King's Road. You can walk to Chelsea in around 15 minutes alongside and then across the river. London is one of the GREAT walking cities generally, and we are in the perfect location to enjoy this aspect. Quiet (there is NO traffic noise!) but easy to get anywhere from.
The flat has excellent wifi and wifi Smart TV. It also has it's own parking space which is available at extra cost. This is stylish spacious flat for two people in a well maintained building in an attractive and peaceful setting, close to the river. It is in an excellent position to make the best of the fantastic facilities close by. It is not suitable for children, as there are a number of mirrored/delicate furnishings and fittings which will not withstand careless usage. But it is those things which lift it above the average rental! Guests must be 30+ years old, and are expected to act with consideration at all times to neighbours in this quiet and peaceful location! 7 night minimum booking, two people only.
WHICH AIRPORT?! If you have a choice of Heathrow or Gatwick, GATWICK is much easier for reaching the flat, in that the train goes from the airport to Clapham Junction in 35 minutes for modest cost (book via www.trainline.co.uk Gatwick to Clapham Junction) and the 170 bus which stops outside the station (Grant Rd. exit) takes you in 5 minutes to right outside the Battersea Village complex (Battersea High St. stop). Contactless cards work on all London Buses. From Heathrow.. Uber is probably the cheapest and easiest way to get to the flat, or a black cab which is reliable but much more expensive. Some web based transfer companies seem to offer transfers for £60+. You can take the Piccadilly tube line from Heathrow to Gloucester Rd. or South Kensington, and get a bus or cab from there, which will take about 10 minutes to the flat.

Very cute place. I really enjoyed the unique decor. The location is really great- lots of restaurants and cafes nearby as well as being in walking distance of Clapham Junction. Just a few minutes from the Thames which is also nice for a river walk. It’s a quiet neighbourhood as well.
Bright, spacious, well maintained, has everything that you need for a great stay. In a good location close to pubs and restaurants and bus transportation. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
My husband and I stayed in this lovely flat for 2 weeks in December. Perfectly located, very clean, well equipped, bright and spacious. Felt like we were coming home each day. Comfortable bed and lovely bedding. I would definitely return. Nicer than the pictures

Better Locations
Attractive space but difficult for International travellers with heavy bags to negotiate to Need to be fit and lively to walk to local amenities and costs build up getting to London attractions. Probably great for locals who know how it all works.

Thanks for your review Joanna, albeit with a very disappointing rating.
I was concerned and mystified when I heard from our apartment manager that it had taken you 5 hours to cover the 15 miles from Heathrow to the flat. This is a journey which takes 35-40 minutes (at worst) in a cab or Uber. We had to pay Gosia 3 hours additional waiting time for your arrival. She also helped you with your bags into the flat.
I cannot understand the route you took for this, given that we do make recommendations in the arrival instructions.
There is a 170 bus stop right outside our complex which can take you to Chelsea, Pimlico or Victoria Station one way or the other way to Clapham Junction (in 5 minutes) the busiest rail junction in Europe, which gives you access everywhere, basically.
There are also 5 different bus routes that take you all over London accessible within a 5 minute walk, at Battersea Bridge. There is also a wonderful MBNA River Bus that stops 10 minutes away, and takes you all the way through London on the river...a relaxing, cost effective and fascinating way of travelling past the Houses of Parliament etc etc at modest cost.
All this is covered in some detail in our comprehensive guide sent before your stay, and also in the folder in the flat. Nearly all our guests are North American, European or Australian, and please see their reviews to assess how they enjoyed and optimised the excellent location of the flat.
Fantastic property in fact one of the best .Set up as a home and you want for nothing .
I could not fault any part of this quaint apartment in a fantastic location.
Well done to Paul & team for making my stay so easy . Definitely come back here when I visit London again ❤️❤️❤️
The apartment was lovely … comfortable, well-equipped and beautifully-decorated. It’s in a gated complex and quiet. Close to bus and Underground and train services. It’s also within minutes of the Thames River Walk. Paul and Fiona are responsive and provide an excellent level of detail about the apartment and neighborhood. Thank you!

Many thanks Scott and Jennifer. Glad you had a good time....come back soon!!
Great central location to all of London, the 170, 44 and train all very easy to get to and use. The owner and his staff went out of their way to help us do to the timing of our arrival from Southampton to Battersea. I would recommend this as a excellent choice, it's a bit noisy due to the helicopter that comes and goes during the day, but very quiet at night considering it's central location.
Very well equipped london apartment.
Check in was easy, very quiet location.
15 minutes to nearest tube but always a taxi available if required.
Kitchen well stocked and a comfy bed.
Rooms all a good size, we will definitely think about returning next time we visit London.
Paul.
If you are like us and want to get away from the crowds this place is great. Very comfortable for two people. It is a short walk to several bus lines. One of the buses (344) is 4 stops to the new Battersea Power Station underground station on the Northern Line. There is is a Tesco Express and Sainsbury Local near by. The is a large M&S Food Hall at the Power Station.
We had a great stay in this flat. It is exactly as pictured. Very comfortable with all the amenities. Not close to a tube station but we were able to manage on the bus(es). It is also on the second floor with no elevator. The owner was very responsive and provided a lot of helpful information on the area. Great place to return to after a day of touring. And great walks close by along the river and in Battersea Park.
We were so very pleased with our stay at 24Winfield House a week or so ago. The flat was equipped with all we needed and was delightfully decorated.
Best of all, was the attentiveness of the owner, Paul. From our initial booking to checkout, he was cordial, always helpful and at hand for anything we needed.
From plumbing to directions to initial tour and even a few provided groceries, Paul and Fiona ranked at the top. Thank you, both.
This is someones well maintained apartment. A good size for London. Nicely decorate. A higher end property in general. The host even thought of things you might have forgotten like a plug adapter or charging cables. It is close to a little square with coffee shops, the river, and Clapton junction. If you don't want to cook you can eat cheaply because you will pass about 30 eateries of all types on the walk to Clapton junction.

Many thanks James. It has been a pleasure having you stay for all that time! For anyone reading this lovely review, and are slightly mystified by the station reference, it's 'Clapham Junction', not 'Clapton'....which is in East London!
Hope to see you again at some point James!
Our stay in Battersea was beyond expectations! The flat is such a comfortable place to come home to after exploring London. We didn't really cook but the kitchen seemed well appointed enough if you wanted to. The bed was super comfy and the host/manager were both very responsive in regards to any questions or issues we had. Location wise, it isn't the most walkable for the main tourist type things but there is tons of stuff to explore on foot nearby including groceries, coffee shops, cafes, stores, parks and pubs. And the bus picks up right out front for those must see things farther away. The proximity to the Thames is amazing too, great for evening strolls. Overall, we didn't want to leave!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 8 day stay at Paul and Fiona’s flat. It was easy to find and is accessible by public transportation. Each day we ventured out by the 170 or 344 on our various journeys around London. We feel like experts because this was our fifth visit in seven years.
The flat was exactly as described. The decor was tastefully done. (I actually picked up a few ideas for our home)
The supplies for a comfortable stay were numerous. The kitchen was well stocked for making meals.
The bathroom had all the necessities and the bedroom was very comfortable. I love the decor in the living room.
Paul was a gracious host and Gosia was very helpful, even expertly carrying my luggage up the flights of stairs.
Overall, it was a great stay and I would highly recommend this flat as a location to access all of London.
Clapham Junction is the nearest rail station with access to the London Overground and Southern Rail. It is also close to Lidl, ASDA, and local versions of M&S and Sainsbury's for picking up easy to fix meals.
There are lots of nice eateries nearby within short walking distance.
Thank you much Paul, Fiona and Gosia for making our holiday wonderful!
We recently concluded a three week stay at Paul’s apartment and our experience was unequivocally great. Although we’ve visited London often, this was our first time staying on the south side of the Thames and the apartment is in a great location to explore the area which has a friendly local vibe and wonderful access to the Thames Path for great walking and sightseeing along London’s rapidly evolving riverfront. The apartment was impeccably clean and furnished well above a standard rental (the photos are very accurate). The complex was quiet and the surrounding expansive grounds well maintained. Paul and the apartment manager Gosia were great communicators, professional and friendly. Battersea Square, a few paces away, is a fun area to relax with a coffee, wine or whatever and people watch. A bus stop to get you to where you need to go is even closer. There is no lift but the walk up a few steps to access the apartment is effortless. Paul’s apartment allows one to live like a London local in a nice residential neighborhood avoiding the congestion, hustle and bustle of the tourist attractions yet having easy and quick access to them. To us, it was the best of both worlds. Highly recommended!

Many thanks for the wonderful review. It was a real pleasure to have you stay at our apartment and we very much hope to be able to welcome you back again sometime!
Paul and Fiona
Paul (owner) personally met me at the property and walked around the neighborhood with me (thanks Paul!), unusual because he normally isn’t onsite. He and Fiona were so incredibly helpful when I was planning my visit and I can’t thank them enough! Regarding the condo itself, it is simply beautiful. Well-maintained and the decor is outstanding, they certainly didn’t skimp on linens or appliances. It’s a gorgeous place, everything I needed and more. The bed, omg THE BED. So so comfortable!! I don’t ever recall sleeping so well outside of my own home. Getting around is easy, either on foot or by bus, Uber, taxi, and overground trains. I particularly loved the walk to Clapham Junction station: easy, flat and approximately 12 minutes. On the way, you’ll see many cafes and small business you can visit. Nothing like an early morning stroll with a hot coffee in hand after a light London rain. I’m a single woman and felt very safe. The neighborhood is clean and gorgeous, surrounded by greenery and well-kept properties (and the Thames!). I loved every minute of my stay in Paul and Fiona’s flat, and can’t wait to come back in a few months!! 5 stars, wish I could give more. Outstanding!

Sehr freundliche Leute in unserer Wohnanlage. Paul hat einen Ordner in der Wohnung hingelegt, in dem alles Wissenswerte genau erklärt wird. Absolut zu empfehlen!!

The apartment is very cosy and tastefully decorated. Bathroom with window. Pretty kitchen. Very nice bedroom with good mattress! We were very pleased with apartment and surroundings. A stone's throw to the Thames, quiet location, but by bus to Victoria Station in just over 10 minutes. Beautiful walks along the river to Battersea Park. Very friendly people in our condominium. Paul has put a folder in the apartment, in which everything worth knowing is explained in detail. Absolutely recommended!!
Lovely apartment well fitted out and close to all amenities.
Short walk to Battersea square where you can find coffee shops, bakery and restaurants.
Thank you Paul and Fiona for a great stay.
Such a lovely property. Very quiet neighborhood. Easy walk to bus stops, small neighborhood groceries and restaurants. Paul was a great help when needed and responded quickly. Very enjoyable.

About the host
Hosted by Paul Abadjian
Fiona and Paul Abadjian live mostly in Dorset, with their two cocker spaniels, Sophie (mother) and Guinness (her son!) and 14 alpacas. Fiona is an independent corporate travel agent and Paul is a classic Jaguar specialist dealer and collector. They use all the properties listed on the Owners Direct site themselves, so they are furnished and maintained as proper luxurious homes rather than 'rental machines' They are therefore better specified and equipped than usual, and Paul & Fiona ensure that they identify and fix any issues they discover when they are living 'on site'. Living in each place also gives them the best opportunity to impart good local advice regarding eating, shopping, cultural aspects, transport etc.
Why they chose this property
It is rare that one can find a purpose built, generously-proportioned and luxurious flat in a central London location designed just for one couple. It is tucked away from any road noise, and has recent double glazing throughout. The complex has it's own generous and well-tended gardens, giving it an unusual combination of space and serenity. The apartment is close to some fabulous amenities. It is a lovely place to base yourself if you like walking, as the river walk just by Battersea Village, gives access to wonderful and historic places without needing to resort to public transport or taxis if you don't want to. It is an oasis of calm in the middle of one of the world's great cities!
What makes this property unique
Whilst there are numerous brand new high rise developments on the banks of the Thames at Battersea, this complex has been where it is, set in its lovely gated gardens, for nearly 80 years. It has an air of peace and tranquillity about it, which the new developments, crammed onto their small plots, on busy roads, do not have. The flat itself, though only one bedroom, is a good size, so the bedroom is quite large, with a UK King size bed and has ample double mirrored wardrobes with lots of hanging space and case storage space for longer stays. There is an attractive eat-in kitchen, with all the equipment you would need for your stay. The sitting room is elegant and, again, a decent size for a central London property. There is a proper reception hall and a nicely styled and equipped bathroom. The flat is on the second floor of the building, and there is no lift, so you will need to carry your cases up the stairs. The location for local restaurants, bars, pubs, transport and river walks is really outstanding.
