Located less than 2 miles from downtown Forestville and approximately one hour from the Golden Gate bridge, this spacious country house is centrally located between the lower Russian River with its many recreational options and the vineyards and wineries of the Russian River and Green Valley AVAs. Other Sonoma County AVAs, the Pacific Ocean, and Sebastopol are all within a 30-minute drive.
After a day of exploring all that West Sonoma County has to offer and perhaps visiting a farmer's market to obtain locally-grown ingredients, relax poolside and enjoy your own home-cooked meal using the facilities of this home's spacious, gourmet Kitchen.
Besides the Poolside Patio, there's an upper Back Deck adjacent to the Kitchen overlooking the pool where you can prepare a BBQ meal using the Weber propane grill. There also is a Hillside Patio on the far side of the pool, as well as another Patio in the Front Yard.
All the recreational facilities on the property make the Wine Country Hideaway ideal for family or friend gatherings. In addition to the onsite swimming pool, the property has a Pickleball practice area (portable net, no lines), a Bocce Ball Court, half-court Basketball area, corn hole court and a full badminton court. Or just relax on one of the two Balconies overlooking the Front Yard, with a view of the unspoiled vistas.

Our extended family had a wonderful relaxing stay at this lovely, fully equipped, homey property! Our kids loved the pool, we dined Al fresco on the deck, and all enjoyed lounging in the beautifully planted gardens. Can’t wait to come back!
Amazing property and hosts that made us feel as if we were borrowing a good friend's home. Great combination of private and public spaces both outside and inside. Epic Bocci ball games were had, excellent meals cooked in the very well appointed kitchen and the variety of birds on the grounds entranced us. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Our stay at Jim and Maureen’s home was perfect- the house is beautiful with lots of common areas to hang out and games to be played. We spent one day floating on the Russian River and the rest of the trip hanging by the pool, cooking (with a fully equipped kitchen and grill), and playing outside. We can’t to come back!
We had summer fun at the pool, sport court and playing games in the house. Great place to focus on being together with activities in the area.
The host was gracious and very responsive and easy to communicate with. It was our second time staying with him.
This VRBO property is my favorite one that I have stayed in. We loved all of the outdoor spaces-and there were many. The house had great amenities and the kitchen was well stocked. We spent many hours by the pool and really enjoyed the pool toys.
All six of us highly recommend this vacation home! This was the best place for celebrating my 65th birthday!
Spent a 3 night long weekend with 6 friends I have known for over 30 years. We found the home spacious and extremely comfortable for all of us. The landscape around the home is spectacular. Love looking at the gardens and hearing all the beautiful birds. I spent a relaxing afternoon in the pool which was a comfortable temp. It was nice having a washer and a dryer. The kitchen came equipped with everything we needed to make all our meals. We were close to the Russian River and spent 1 day tubing. Jim, the owner was easily accessible by text. Can’t think of anything negative. We hope to come back.
Wow. This place is not only gorgeous but it has everything! There was plenty of room for my whole family and plenty for the whole family to do. Bocce, basketball, volleyball, cornhole, swimming pool, you name it. There are multiple seating areas both outside and in and a great hammock for napping. There are so many wineries all around, so much to see and do. We had a great time and would love to visit again. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the owner/manager was really helpful and responsive, everything about this experience was perfect.
We were two adult couples visiting Sonoma for the first time. We wanted a house away from the busy areas, and that’s exactly what we got. The backyard had so many birds every day. I love watching birds, and really enjoyed seeing them every morning as I had my coffee on the porch. One night, we heard coyotes. The garden is pretty and tranquil, with lots of places to sit and hang out. The kitchen was very well stocked with lots of dishes and basic condiments and cooking implements. The beds were comfortable and the whole place was clean. It was a wonderful long weekend.
We wish we would have had more time to enjoy the house and all of the amenities it provided.
House is located in a great location to explore the Russian River valley and other wine regions and we took advantage of it. The house is in a remote area, very quiet. The property offers numerous sitting areas to enjoy the gardens and relax. Also, bocce ball and corn hole for some friendly competition.
We had a group of five adults. Plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated that it was supplied with paper towels, condiments, spices, coffee filters.....small things but makes the trip less stressful.
My family and I had a lovely stay in Forestville over the Labor Day weekend. The property itself is gorgeous and has a little something for all ages, and the house...well the house is also spectacular! We felt right at home, doing the things we love to do -- swim in the beautiful pool, cook in the kitchen while overlooking the garden, read in the hammock, do art on the front deck, and take walks in the neighborhood while admiring the views. It was a vacation to remember and we can't wait to stay again!
Three couples enjoyed this wonderful home as our starting point for a couple of days wine tasting in Sonoma and Napa. Beautiful gardens, pool and outdoor games. Easy check in and out, host even checked in a few days before our stay to make sure we were all set. We would definitely stay here again.
This house was perfect for 7 of us to spend a long weekend. We had a group of adults in our mid 30's, but it would be equally wonderful for families. The photos really do the house justice. The property is beautifully landscaped and makes you feel secluded and at peace. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need to cook. You feel completely removed and in nature, but are a short drive to the town. There is a lot to do at the property, as there is a basketball hoop, cornhole, bocce ball and badminton. Jim was a very easy, and communicative host. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone.
Lovely, tranquil (note the neighbors horse stalls are adjacent to the pool area, so you’ll hear them) property with a great balance of outdoor/indoor spots. The rose garden is stunning and has two shaded seating areas (great to curl up with a book, there are bees, but they don’t bother, just fyi if you’re scared of bees); the pool is solar heated with floaties and deck chairs; well stocked kitchen; rooms were comfortable; owners were responsive
We went for a 3 night stay for a short country get-a-way. This property is what I would consider rural yet only only 10-15 mins drive into downtown Sebastopol or a 5 mins drive to fabulous restaurants in Gratton. As I have mentioned before, we are cooks. We found this kitchen to have everything we needed including plastic containers for leftovers! The beds were extremely comfortable and the layout of the home worked well for my family. I could have spent a good chunk of my day watching the beautiful birds come to the feeders or just listening to them in the mornings - so peaceful. The outdoor area is fabulous fun for family members of all ages - basketball hoop, badminton court, bocce court, corn hull. Beautiful gardens, wild life, fabulous deck with a weber grill with propane tank. We did not use the pool as it was winter, but it was beautiful to look at. The outdoor deck off the kitchen is fabulous. I highly recommend this home and hope to return during the fall when we can use the pool. Thank you Jim!
The property is beautiful. The house is warm and inviting and well equipped. Lots of firewood for fires in the winter. Would love to go back in the summer.
What a beautiful home in a magical setting of gardens and redwoods! The owners of the home obviously put a lot of time and love into this property with beautiful, well-tended gardens, peaceful sitting areas all over the property and a meticulously clean and well-appointed house!
We had seven people in our group and we were in the area for wine tasting. This home is located near a lot of the great wineries in the Russian River Valley. We only wish we could have stayed longer so we could have taken advantage of all this property has to offer (pool, bocce ball, hammock, etc). We were going to go out to dinner, but decided after seeing the beautiful property, to eat at the house. The kitchen is very well-appointed and had everything we needed.
This is a fantastic property and we can’t wait to come back!!
