Getting Around:
Guests will need to make sure they have their own vehicle. Summer months are fine with a small car but four wheel drive is a must in the winter!
Other Things to Note:
What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

Nice, comfortable and spacious. There was plenty of space for our group to enjoy ourselves and had plenty of seating in multiple areas. The cabin was well equipped with kitchenware and such. The whole place was quite lovely. Thanks!
We enjoyed staying in the property! Lots of space for kids running around in and around the house. The fire-pit was great. The kitchen could use an update. Not enough coffee cups for everyone and I am no fan of plastic glasses and plates.Everything else was super!
Very pretty home, loved the decor. No AC but it was cool at night and we were comfortable and even chilly with the window open the week after July 4th. The drive to West Yellowstone wasn’t bad, about 42 minutes. We saw moose right in the area of the home.
My family and I loved the house! Super comfy and nice! We would definitely stay there again! The house was super clean, however the kitchen things that was inside the dishwasher was dirty, so we had to clean everything before use.
Well built large cabin satisfied our need for a place to rest while being on the road most of our week as we were sightseeing in Yellowstone and Grand Teton. We appreciated provisions in the cabin like cleaning supplies, towels and toiletries, coffee filters, spices, chairs for around the firepit. Super accommodating! Nearby, we went horseback riding and went to our first rodeo Since we're from Philadelphia, PA, we appreciated the mountain view and bonus moose and calf sighting out in the back yard. Great house!

satisfactory would not recommend to our friends. Too far off main road to go to Yellowstone NP. Also no closet space, or for that matter place to put any of our clothes. Owner needs to unlock closets. We had to live out of our suitcase while there. Also bathtub on 1st floor would not hold water so taking soaking bath after long day at parks not possible. Owner needs to think about updating entry to house, use of pin pad was difficult to use, perhaps go to keyless entry system

Thank you for letting us know, we will be sure to let the owner know about these issues. Thank you! - IP Reservations
The house is wonderful, very comfortable. Too many rules to follow from the property manager. When we go on vacation, we do not want to be subjected to so many rules and threats of being charged outrageous fees if we do something wrong. We chose not to cook as we were told after we arrived that the water was not safe to drink and we would have to boil water to even brush our teeth so we purchased extra bottled water and ate all our meals at restaurants who told us they were unaware of a water safety issue. The bedding was put on wet and smelled sour in one of the upstairs bedrooms and when I removed the pillowcase to wash all the bedding before we could go to bed, the pillow was stained and smelled disgusting. I'm sure the home owners would be interested to know that the property managers are not doing a very good job. I even had to call the two phone numbers available and leave a message to ask for the code to enter the house on the evening of our arrival as I had not received this information from them. Beautiful home, not so great property managers.

Thank you for leaving a review. We're sorry to hear that you were unpleased with our service. When you were booked in you were given a rental agreement that went over all required tasks before departure which you signed and agreed to. All laundry is professionally laundered and dried before arriving to the cabin. We wish we would have heard from you if you were unpleased with the laundry & pillow. We email the check-in instructions 2 days prior to arrival as instructed by your rental agreement. We apologize if you didn't see that email and had to call our after hours number. We're glad you enjoyed the home and the area.

I recently stayed at Mountain Meadows in Island Park and, unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations.Upon arrival, I found the property was not properly cleaned or prepared for guests. The dishwasher was loaded but hadn’t been run, trash cans in several rooms hadn’t been emptied, the refrigerator still contained leftovers from prior guests, and many towels and beds did not seem freshly laundered. These are basic standards I expect from any rental, especially at this price point. Most concerning, I encountered serious security and privacy issues. Over the course of my stay, it was clear someone had been inside the property without my knowledge or consent. The state of the pantry door changed, the deadbolt was unlocked, and personal items around the house—including a lunch bag and water jug—were moved. Tools and the grill outside were also found in different positions. This violated my sense of safety, which was especially upsetting as I was traveling with young children.I attempted to contact property management during my stay but was unable to reach anyone, partly due to unreliable cell coverage in the national park and a busy vacation schedule. After checkout, management did apologize and issued a partial refund covering one night and the cleaning fee, but I felt this was not enough to address the extent of the problems. In summary, while I appreciate the refund and apology after the fact, I am leaving disappointed.

We’re truly sorry to hear that your stay at Mt Meadows did not meet your expectations. We take guest concerns very seriously, and while we wish you had reached out to us during your stay so we could have immediately addressed the issues, we appreciate you sharing your feedback.
Our team prides itself on maintaining high standards for cleanliness and guest readiness. If the property was not fully prepared upon arrival, that is absolutely not the norm, and we sincerely apologize. Your comments have prompted a full review of our cleaning procedures to ensure this does not happen again.
Regarding your concerns about someone entering the property: We understand how unsettling that must have felt, especially with young children. However, please know that once guests arrive, no staff member enters the home without notice or permission, except in major emergencies.
We are also concerned that you were unable to contact us. Our office is located just down the road, and we are available by phone, text, email, and in person. The property is equipped with Wi-Fi, and we encourage all guests to reach out immediately if any issues arise so we can resolve them promptly. Unfortunately, we did not receive any messages from you during your stay.
We're committed to improving and hope to have the chance to provide a much better experience in the future.
The property was tucked back in the woods about 10 minutes from the town. It was quiet and comfortable. There were only four of us but this place would sleep over 20 people. There was a fire pit outside that we enjoyed one evening. There’s a wrap around deck with seating to enjoy your morning beverage. The only negative was that all the knickknacks needed dusted badly and inside the kitchen cabinets could use scrubbed as they were dirty. Everything else was clean. There were several restaurants nearby (within 20 minutes) and Yellowstone National Park was about 35 minutes away.
Mountain Meadows is more than advertised! the cabin is very nicely appointed, well stocked with any kitchen utensils you might need. The furnishings are very comfy and in great condition. the bedrooms are spacious and the beds are comfy too. the neighborhood is very secluded and quiet. Finally, the Property Managers are the best. I could not find the email with the lock box code and even though it was late (after 6pm) when I called for help. they were on it immediately and got it to me on the phone and followed up with an email.
Very nice place for our family to stay. A bit remote, do your shopping before going. My grandkids were super excited from the first moment they went in and that excitement only grew when they went upstairs. Tubs and showers are much nicer than normal. A handicap person may have some trouble accessing baths. Kitchen is amply supplied with necessities but pans are the cheapest. Bring a good fry pan or two if you plan to fix breakfast there. Coffee maker is a 12 cup, bring filters and coffee. Inside is wonderful, outside needs some repair. Careful, deck is a little soft on left side. Enjoy!
Very nice IP property that was super clean and large. There are a lot of rules for this place and some conflict between the contract and postings at the cabin. Needed clarification from the rental agency. They are very adamant about limiting persons to 6 or less at the cabin to protect their property. However the cabin is very large and can sleep nearly 20. We felt so intimidated by the strong communication about the 6 person limit that we could not even have our four adult friends over to see the unit or eat when the power was out at their cabin. Again...beautiful place but be aware of the rules.
This property was even better than advertised. We had plenty of space for our family of 5. Great location. We didn't feel like we were too close to other properties. Highly recommend for families of 5 or 6!
We truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin! It was well stocked with everything we could have needed and there was so much more room than the pictures made it seem. The whole process was so seamless and easy. Thank you!
Overall we had a great stay, the house and property was beautiful and so peaceful. There were a few small issues the bathroom upstairs has almost no water pressure, so showering upstairs was not an option. So that left all 6 of us using 1 shower. Also the bathtub downstairs didn't stay plugged so a bath was not an option either. The house is in need of a good dusting. The beds were also not very comfortable. But those small issues didn't ruin our trip we had a great time and enjoyed the outdoor BBQ, and fireplace. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was plenty of space for all of us.
Well worth the extra few minutes of driving each day. Spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Plenty of space for everyone, quiet, and relaxing location.
This is a fantastic property that feels very secluded. We enjoyed 6 days at this cabin and wish we had had more. The accommodations are very comfortable and the interior of the cabin is tastefully decorated. It had a great cabin in the woods ambiance. We saw a variety of wildlife daily. Would highly recommend this property.
This property was perfectly secluded with just a short 15 min drive to IP Reservoir, where we spent most of our days. We loved coming back “home” in the evenings to relax in the family
room and build a fire. After the first half of 2020 this is exactly what we need to reconnect.
Had a very relaxing experience in the cabin very quiet and comfortable.
Beautiful location and property nicely decorated inside location was very relaxing.
