About this property

"Le Jardin", Fontenay Castle, 17 Ha Park with Pool and Tennis.

Your cottage "Le Jardin", for 4 to 6 people, is located in a private domain of 17 hectares of green spaces and forest and 15 hectares of vineyards.

You will take beautiful walks in our park and take advantage of our large heated swimming pool, tennis court, bicycles at your disposal to discover the region (the Château de Chenonceau is 7 km by the edges of Cher, Amboise at 10 km by cycle paths). All the other castles are less than 45 minutes by car.

You will spend a relaxing holiday in a fully renovated house offering all modern comforts in a historic environment.

Two other cottages: "La Maison du Boulanger" (for 5 to 8 people) and "La Closerie" (for 4 to 6 people), also located in our park, can offer the possibility of spending holidays with family and / or between friends.

Each cottage has a kitchen with dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, TV, CD-DVD player, WIRELESS...

Each cottage has its own space, BBQ, parasol, table and outdoor chairs.

Wine property, we offer the discovery of our vineyards, winery, and the tasting of our wines.

VISITS: the gîte is ideally located for exploring the region, near the Chateaux of Chenonceau, Amboise, Loches, Le Clos Lucé (Léonard De Vinci), and all the others including the remarkable gardens of Touraine (Chaumont sur Loire, Villandry, etc.) .

A relaxed, serene haven in the Loire Valley Area

We had a lovely stay – the chateau and grounds are beautiful – a few steps from the serene River Cher and cycle path; we could borrow bikes and play tennis, table tennis or lounge around the luxurious pool; it is a cool green oasis after a day of sight seeing. There are lovely walks into the forest and around the vineyards. We were able to live an outdoor life here. The lodge building was lovely for us 4 adults – good sized bedrooms with elegant furniture. And outdoor space to sit in – we could read under the trees. The position of the chateau is fantastic – so easy to get onto main roads go on trips to the amazing chateau and towns all around. It is very close to Blere for amenities, shops, restaurants – a calm Loire Valley village – and after all that you can return to the ground of your own chateau! The hosts are lovely, helpful and very thoughtful about details. Check in and check out very easy.

Philippe and Nathalie were fantastic hosts. They made us feel welcome and offered a great wine tasting session with their son, Pierre-Olivier. The property was fantastic. Beautiful estate on the banks of the river Cher and incredible castle grounds.The pool was fantastic, perfect temperature and clean. Bicycles were available to cycle to town for dinner and we could launch our paddle boards on the river infront of the castle for a beautiful paddle.We stayed in the garden gite right at the gate. The accommodation was clean and cool during the hot summer days. We had several barbecues and the kitchen was well supplied to cook. The beds was comfortable and firm.The property is close to many sites like Amboise, Château de Chenonceau and is an excellent base to see the loire valley. We had a five star stay and would go back any day. Thanks to Philippe and Nathalie for a fantastic stay. 5

Ideal for a family holiday

We stayed in the gatehouse cottage of Château Fontenay, which is in a beautiful setting with great facilities on the château grounds. We loved exploring the woods and wandering in the vineyards. The pool and the tennis court were perfect for unwinding from our days exploring the region. Fontenay is ideally placed for visiting many of the Loire's major châteaux and Chennonceau is reachable easily by the bicycles that are available for guests to borrow. Nathalie and family are diligent, friendly hosts and were quick to solve any issues. A great place for a family holiday.

Une dépendance dans le Château

Une dépendance au calme au sein du parc du château, on se croirait presque dans un château car on a beaucoup d'espace dans ce "trois pièces". Les propriétaires sont avenants et aux soins avec vous. Un havre de paix dans ce parc vous attend.
