'We had a fantastic time in France, thank you. What an idyllic setting' . . . 'We liked the beautiful views from the upstairs bedrooms.' Joanna H, England.
'We had a wonderful holiday and the Maison au Coin was absolutely delightful, thank you.' Angie N, Axminster
The cottage has recently been renovated to the highest standards whilst retaining much of its character, such as exposed beams, large fire place and traditional kitchen with wood burning stove.
The cottage is on 4 levels. The front door leads to a hall, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom on the middle level. Up a few stairs are a further two bedrooms each with en suite bath/shower rooms. Down from the hall is a sitting/dining room with a large open fire place and doors leading on to the outside mezzanine deck which overlooks the pool and has stunning views across the local vineyards (where you can buy the local wine!).
On the lowest level there is a further bedroom with en suite shower and a laundry room with washing machine. There is air conditioning which also heats in winter for the living area and the two upstairs bedrooms. Doors from the lowest level open to a terrace, swimming pool and open grass area to the front. The front door leads out to an enclosed courtyard which is very safe for children. The kitchen window opens onto this courtyard. The television has all British free view channels. A variety of bicycles are available for use by guests on request.

The house is full of character and the owner has made the best of an old property. The pool and air condition was a necessity as we had temperatures of up to 41
Plenty of space with 4 bedrooms a farmhouse style kitchen and large lounge dinner.
This property is not suitable for any one with mobility issues, lots of steps
Good location for a lot of interesting visits.
A well-appointed property in a stunning elevated location with tremendous views. We were there in not-very-warm spring weather, but were entirely comfortable. Excellent bakery in Sigoulès (10 mins by car), useful supermarkets there also and in Eymet (15 mins). Parking close to the property very easy.

House a bit disappointing and too rural
The upstairs is light and airy but the living/dining area is dismal and dark. There are many steps between rooms which vary in height and can be tricky to see at times.
Chairs on the decking lack cushions.
Only way out of village is via a variety of country roads some of which are only single vehicle width. The countryside however is lovely.

The majority of our guests just don't agree with your view of the living area! It has double doors out on to the terrace that has terrific views across the vineyards. The large traditional stone fireplace is a great feature of the room. The room is lit with modern LED lighting.
The house is built on a hillside so I'm afraid there is little we can do about the steps! We're also unable to impact the quality of the local roads which are actually looked after very well!

Arrived late afternoon to a fantastic looking villa.
It was the best three weeks we have had for a long time.
Thank you James for a stay that ticked so many boxes for us.

The house is amazing! Very large living areas, brilliant view from the balcony. Very peaceful and tranquil. Pool is definitely needed in the sunshine. Air conditioning works really well.
For anyone renting here, definitely visit Eymet on Tuesday night and Thursday morning for their fantastic markets
James- the property owner has been really great before we arrived with advice.
Only negative- certain area of how were not really cleaned before our stay.
la maison est bien ,très bonne literie;

Perfect French gettaway
Wanted a cosy post-Christmas break to unwind from the festive madness. Boxes which needed to be ticked were a) quiet b) close to foody area c) comfortable and d) clean. The cottage and surrounding area delivered on all aspects. We were able to explore the local towns and villages, eating and drinking our hearts out. Back at the cottage we could fully relax and feel at home. Will be returning next year!

Excellent family break
We had a great fortnight in France. The house was just right for our needs. The pool is small but perfect for small children, and the overlooking terrace was an ideal spot to keep an eye on them - especially with a glass of wine in hand!!
The bedrooms have incredible views and the location is so tranquil. The nearby towns however offer plenty of places to eat and there are numerous family activities within an easy drive.
