The home was perfect and comfortably accommodated two couples and a dog. The hot tub was perfect. The distance to skiing at Baker is ideal just short of staying next to the Glacier Ski Shop.

Lovely, well equipped, relaxing place to stay

We stayed for 5 days to let flooring refinishers do their thing at our house after a pipe leak. This was a quiet, private feeling (cabins nearby but lots of trees and good orientation gave good privacy) cabin with all the amenities. Nicely located near small town services and the Mt. Baker area with all its gorgeous scenery.

Cabin near Mt Baker

Easy to find-even though the address lists a different street than it’s actually on. You have to search for the hot tub instructions and the downstairs bedroom light flickered constantly. I opted to just use different lights. There were also these buzzing plugins all over the house-they can be blocked out with ear plugs. Overall it was very cutely decorated and cozy. We didn’t communicate with the property manager at all. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels and blankets were provided.

Hi Keyosha: Thank you for the 4-star review for family Cabin #89! We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay, and that you found the cabin to be "very cutely decorated and cozy". The street is actually the one correctly listed on your check-in instructions/map. While it may seem a little silly/confusing, we go by the correct address in the event that a 911 emergency response is required during our Guest's stay (that's what they go by). We discovered that one of the light bulbs was failing and it has since been replaced. Please know that customer service is our goal, and whenever the need arises, we are just a quick phone call or e-mail away (the cabin is equipped with both a land line and wifi capability). The plug-in are designed to keep the critters out (which are plentiful in our heavily wooded mountain area). That said; you are most welcome to unplug them from the wall outlets during your visit, but we do ask that you plug them back in at the end of your stay. Many thanks for the exceptionally neat and tidy way in which you left the cabin upon departure. It was truly a pleasure hosting you. Cute cabin

We loved staying here for its easy access to Mt. Baker for skiing. They have ski/snowboard racks and a boot warmer, which are nice touches. The hot tub is bigger than it looks in the photo, and 4 adults fit comfortably! Due to local ordinances, they do not keep spices and cooking oils available for guests. But they did provide coffee filters, coffee packets, small salt and pepper, little bottle of olive oil, and a couple teas. The lighting throughout the home was bright white. We would’ve preferred warmer lighting to add to the cozy cabin vibes, but this is just a personal preference. The check in/out process is less ideal because we had to drive back out about 15 min to their office to drop off our keys before heading to Mt. Baker, adding to our overall time on the road. Overall, we enjoyed the cabin and would book again knowing these details!

We're happy to hear that you had an opportunity to take advantage of the outdoor hot tub (and hopefully the indoor fireplaces) during your visit. One slight correction; we offer a courtesy key drop box between Graham Store and Graham's Store in Glacier. This eliminates the need for back tracking to our office if you're planning on going up to the ski area after departure. Info regarding this option is included with all Guest check in materials, as well as posted inside the cabin. We're very sorry that you didn't see it. Pleasant Stay, but Improvements Would Be Welcomed

We've stayed in this development (in different properties) for several years now. We love how low-key the neighborhood is and how close it is to Mt. Baker. We found this property to be clean and generally comfortable. The hot tub with privacy was great. The kitchen was fully stocked with the tools we needed to make all of our meals in the home, although the dishwasher didn't work well so we had to hand wash a lot of dishes. The property is located right next to 542 so we did see and hear cars passing by. There were gadgets (bug repellers?) plugged into at least 10 outlets around the home that put off an annoying buzzing noise. We couldn't get the television in the main bedroom to work. The home was warm and cozy during the cold days that we were there, but I would have loved some instructions on how to deal with the gas fireplaces that turned on and off throughout the night, interrupting our sleep. There are labels all over the home with polite instructions on how to treat items on the property, and some direction about television and heat use would have been a welcome addition. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but I'll find a different property in this development to stay at the next time we visit.

Hi Susan: Thank you for your review for family Cabin #89. We're happy to hear that you found the cabin "to be clean and generally comfortable". We will pass your kudos along to our housekeeping team. They will be equally thrilled! Thank you for reporting the issue that you experienced with the dishwasher. We attempted to replicate the issue that you are reporting here, but was unable to do so. That said; we will certainly keep an eye on it. As for the "bug repellers". The heavily forested area in which our vacation properties are located includes many insects and small critters (e.g. mice, shrews, etc.). The repellers are designed to discourage insects/critters from entering the properties that we represent. Although they don't typically bother humans, they can be easily removed by simply pulling them from the wall outlets...very easy. Believe me when I tell you that you would much rather have the repellers that the insects/critters. The TV in the main bedroom is designed to work with the accompanying DVD player. Specific instructions are generally not needed. The fireplaces are set to operate at 68 degrees. We set them in advance of Guest arrival to make our cabins warm and cozy for our in-coming Guests. Similarly, we don't provide instructions simply because they are intuitively controlled by up/down arrowed buttons. Up turns the heat up. Down turns the heat down. That being said; we want our Guest's stay to be as comfortable as possible, and are here to assist whenever the need arises. Unfortunately, although the cabin features both a landline and wifi, we did not hear from you at any time during your 4-night stay. On a more positive note, thank you for the reasonably neat and tidy way in which you left the cabin upon departure. Respectfully, Dan

Great long weekend

Great cabin for exploring the area. Spent time at Silver Lake Park, Glacier and Mt Baker ski area. Found a nice 2 mile hike through woods and along the Nooksak River starting just 2 minute walk from the cabin. Enjoyed the hot tub and it's privacy. Great nights sleep in a nice bed. Kitchen had all we needed for cooking some great meals. Thank you very much.

Thanks for great accommodations!

Great cabin with all we needed. Easy access to hiking and short drive to Silver Lake and Artists Point. We were generously refunded for the hot tub that was on the fritz. There was a fair amount of weekday construction ....noisy at times and maybe a consideration for some who want super quiet. Thanks! We will be back.

Many thanks for the neat and tidy way in which you left the cabin upon departure. It was truly a pleasure hosting you. We would highly recommend you to other hosts, and we look forward to seeing you again during your next visit to the Mt. Baker area :) Happy trails, Dan

Beautiful get away

The cabin was beautiful and cozy. We enjoyed the king sized bed and had fire places. The kitchen was very equipped for cooking meals and spacious. WiFi worked well throughout our stay as well. The only negatives was it backed up to Mt baker highway so you got a lot of road noise , and the hot tub was a little slimy and cloudy, and needs to be updated. The space is not at big as it looks pictured but perfect for a couples or a small family.

Hi Jamie: Thank you for your review for family Cabin #89! We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay at the cabin, and had an opportunity to take advantage of the indoor fireplaces and the outdoor hot tub during your visit. As the Mt. Baker Highway dead-ends at the Mt. Baker Ski Area, (during the winter season) road noise is usually minimal, but typically begins around 8:00am and lasts for about an hour to an hour and a half, as travelers make their way to the ski area. It is then quiet until about 4:00pm to 5:00pm, when they head back down the mountain homeward bound. After that, things tend to be rather quiet for the rest of the evening. The hot tub was serviced just prior to your arrival, at which point the water was chemically balanced and crystal clear. We did find it to be a bit cloudy when it was re-serviced/inspected subsequent to your departure. Thank you for the neat and tidy way in which you left the cabin upon departure. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we look forward to seeing you again during your next visit to the Mt. Baker area :) Happy trails, Dan

We really enjoyed the area, hiking, views and the accommodations

We wish there was more or a yard / some area landscaping cleanup - made it difficult to do anything around the outside if the house / property

Hi Steven: Thank you for the great 4-star review for family Cabin #89! We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay, and hope that you had an opportunity to take advantage of the outdoor hot tub and BBQ, and the two indoor fireplaces while you were there. We apologize for the condition of the yard. A little bit of water and a few sunny days and, wow, everything really grows fast! It was supposed to have been mowed/weed whacked the day prior to your stay, but the vendor appears to have flaked out on us. Many thanks for the neat and tidy way in which you left the cabin upon departure. It was truly a pleasure hosting you. We would highly recommend you to other hosts, and we look forward to seeing you again during your next trip to Mt. Baker :) Happy trails, Dan

Looked Great Online, Needed Some Attention

We rented this cabin for 7 days recently. There were few current reviews to rely on (latest from 2009) and none through VRBO. Photos show a very appealing place, both inside and out, however we discovered over the week's visit that there were many small deficiencies that indicated no one was really giving this place the attention it needed. Location is optimal (close to hikes and amenities), an outdoorsy decor theme, hot tub, dog friendly, etc. We initially phoned the management company for a detailed explanation of the heating/fireplace system but chose not to keep phoning for the other issues. It just surprised us the level of upkeep didn't match the look of the place. We left a detailed review with complaints/suggestions for the management company and they did not seem very happy with our honest appraisal. In a follow up response they indicated many of our complaints had been addressed. Hopefully the renters following us had a better experience and can rate higher.

Hi Gayle: Thank you for your review of Cabin #89. We appreciate your patronage, and in bringing matters to our attention. While there are a few items that required attention, there are a few that we take exception with; This cabin has been in our rental program since it was built approximately eight years ago, and in that time has had literally hundreds of guests in residence since its inception. It has two gas fireplaces...one of which is located in the living room, and the other in the bedroom. Both are regulated by very simple and intuitive wall thermostats with up and down arrows that regulate the temps. In all of the years that we have been representing this cabin, no one has ever reported any difficulties in trying to determine how to operate the thermostats. Having said this, you did reach out to us by phone, and we explained how to operate the thermostats. You confirmed to us at that time that the living room fireplace responded as it should. Although you did not mention it to us until check-out, we checked the dishwasher, and it is operating fine. Having said this, you failed to start the dishwasher as a component of our established (written) check-out requirements upon departure. The vacuum did indeed not operate properly. The hose had a clog in it, and we have since cleared the hose of the obstruction. The wicker bench on the back porch did have several broken straps, and we have removed it until it can be repaired or replaced. There are no problems with the towels. They are not high-end, but are in good condition. We did note that some of the glassware and a few dishware items need replacement. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This is something that could easily have been resolved to your satisfaction if you had contacted us to let us know during your stay. Although the DVD player/monitor in the living room is advertised, the DVD player/monitor in the bedroom is not. There is very limited space in the bedroom for a larger unit, and the property owner thought that the small unit in the bedroom would make for a nice added plus...albeit an unexpected one. The right side of the laundry room door was functioning fine prior to your arrival, so it must have come off track during your stay. It has since been repaired. We do value our guests input, but in this particular case, some of the "issues" that you experienced were either non-issues, or they could have easily be remedied with a call to our office. Respectfully, Dan
