Had a wonderful week here, hiking in the snow and hanging out by the extremely efficient wood stove! Loved the whole experience, had everything we needed.
This is a really nice cabin in a nice location! Really enjoyed our stay. Communication with the owner was easy and to the point. The cabin is much better than it looks on the photos :)
They house was overall in great shape. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with cooking supplies, and the rocking chair on the back porch with the view was amazing!
The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. It was my husband, four year old twins and our dog. It’s a convenient location to the National park and forest lands and the little town of Mazama was a cute and lovely surprise!
Great cabin in a secluded little neighborhood at the foot of north cascades. Had everything we needed to cook dinner and relax in the wilderness. It was extremely hot and the cabin would get very warm thru the nights (only one window air conditioner on the second floor). But I think that the 90’s temps were the exception in this area. We enjoyed our stay and all went great at the property. Try the salted baguettes at the mazama store!!
Comfy and cozy cabin in a quiet area— the wood stove made the house toasty warm. The bed was comfy, and the kitchen had all the basics. Everything was clean and well maintained. The big landing field in the back was a nice place to walk the dog.
Our second time here did not disappoint. We came here with our surviving dog to unplug from the hard year that was 2023. Peaceful falling snow on our walks, cozy warm cabin that lacks for nothing, Netflix and snacks = 3times’ a charm. We’ll be back.
My husband and I came to area to hike. Unfortunately we couldn’t get into the NP due to the fire but the surrounding national forest offered amazing hikes. Cabin is near a fun swimming hole and very close to trails. The night sky was unbeatable here and Winthrop was just down the road with some fun places and lot of nice people who gave us great recommendations.
This well crafted log cabin is set in a perfect location to access the many recreational opportunities in Methow Valley and the North Cascades. The cabin has all the amenities to enjoy your stay in total comfort. There was a minor glitch with my email address being incorrect but the owner was quick to respond to resolve the issue and made everything involving our stay go smoothly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. We loved the decks on two sides of the building. My father slept in the lower bedroom, and the two of us and Daisy Dog were comfortable in the upper loft. The woodstove worked incredibly well, we learned to put less wood in it so we could sleep comfortably upstairs. Everything we needed was in the kitchen plus things we were surprised they had. The location was convenient to all the hikes that we wanted to take. We look forward to returning for another visit.
Heidi was very patient with our confusion finding the property. (We traveled 1800 miles) we found the property clean and had everything we could have needed for our stay. The grill had not been cleaned by other guests, but I think we left it better than we found it. Over all very pleased!!
We rented the cabin to celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary with a thru hike of Cutthroat Pass. The cabin was excellent in both amenities and location. We would rent it again.
The only problem we had was initially finding it. There was address (51) posted on Mink street. We found it because it was located next to 55 and matched the pictures.
We enjoyed our stay, the cabin is much better than you can see on pictures. The only reason I gave 4 stars, there is no dishwasher. Washing everything by hand after family with 2 little kids was a bit exhausting.

Good overall with some caveats
The cabin itself was fantastic. Very relaxing and close enough to Slate Peak to make a nice little day trip. Unfortunately there were also a few issues. The grill was filthy and caked with grease, to the point that when we tried to use it the grease caught on fire and we needed to use baking soda to put it out. We cleaned the grill ourselves for the sake of future guests because it's a safety issue and we'd hate to see a fire. Lastly, there was a used tampon applicator on the bathroom counter next to the sink---definitely not something you'd want to find upon arrival. (Perhaps left by the cleaning crew?) Other than those two issues the stay was awesome and we would return. Lovely area and the cabin was quite comfortable and beautiful.
Nice location, suited our adventure travels, yet home needs maintenance.
It was comfortable for our needs, yet there were a few issues that I wouldn't have expected for the price. The fans and upper walls/ceiling were so dusty I couldn't turn them on to circulate the heat from the wood stove. There were bare walls, picture hangers without any art hanging so lacked personality. Also, looks like the hot water heater was replaced, yet the old one was left under the kitchen counter with a hole looking straight into the wall. Not very appealing to look at while you're cooking. It did seem like they've done their best to block of access from the exterior yet there was a mouse running around the house...This being said, Packwood is a beautiful area and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation.
We thought the pictures didn't do the place justice. It was really a great cabin, very comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. We had some difficulty working the stove - it has a full page of instructions on how to get it started! Once going, it provided great warmth for the cabin. The beds were comfy and well -outfitted with bedding and pillows. Our only difficulty was in trying to reach the hosts when the stove didn't work. The landline didn't work and none of our cellphones could call out. However, since there was wifi, they responded very quickly through the Vrbo website messages. It was worrisome because the stove was filled with smoke! The nice neighbor next door came over and helped us out. So very kind of him! It will help people who are staying there to know how to do wifi calling. We appreciated that the owners really did try to give us instructions and help us to try to use the wifi calling. We would happily stay there again. Thanks for a great stay!
Wonderful little cabin that we very much enjoyed. Cozy and comfortable and the wood stove makes the cool night air disappear. A short walk to the creek and lots of other cabins to wander by taking in the sights.
Owning a mountain cabin myself... I did have a few rubs that the owners should consider addressing. Some plumbing repairs in the kitchen (for the bathroom) has left part of a wall missing exposing the backside of the shower and hot water tank. Some general disrepair in the kitchen needs addressing (e.g. missing tiles, tired old particle board cupboards, and other minor issues). While the kitchen is "fully stocked" you'll find an assortment of stainless steel and cast iron pans alongside some scared and abused teflon pans and a mixed bag of kitchen utensils in varying states of usable to worn out. Other minor annoyances included no tinfoil in the kitchen, a dead mouse decomposing next to the reclining chair (it's the mountains... I get it but that should have been removed in the last cleaning) and a parade of carpenter ants in the kitchen. The neighbor cabin is, well, interesting... with odd collections of detritus spread about.
Don't get me wrong, while this cute little cabin needs some love, it's a worthwhile visit! We used the BBQ, cooked for ourselves most every night, made good use of the wood stove, and enjoyed our walks. We would absolutely come back.

We are the Chungs. We are a family of four and have owned our log cabin since 2003. The Methow Valley holds a very special place with us and we enjoy sharing it with others. It is wonderful community to stay for a weekend or longer. Plenty to do or a perfect place to do nothing.
Why they chose this property
We always wanted a cabin in which to share with family and friends. It's in a great recreation area of Washington state and it is quite different from our primary home. We enjoy the outdoors, the sunny weather, and the beauty of all four seasons. This cabin is our retreat away from the city where we can hike, swim, star gazing, and just enjoy all there is outdoors.
What makes this property unique
Perfect place to be situated no matter what you want to do, whether its summer activities such as hiking, rock climbing, fishing, swimming, biking, star-gazing at night and in the winter months we have snow-mobiling, skiing (supposedly best in North America), sledding. And there is nothing better than waking up, walking outside and see the Cascade Mountains up close. If you are trying to get away from the busy city noises, this is definitely the place.
