What a fantastic stay! This cottage was perfect for our trip to the mountains, it’s tucked in the most gorgeous valley surrounded by nature. Our hosts made it very easy to locate and had helpful notes around the cabin to help use electronics and lights.

Weekend getaway

My husband and I decided to take a weekend getaway for the holiday weekend. The cabin is close to cashiers and highlands for anything you want/need to do, and Lake Glenville is just beautiful! The owner Chris is available for any issues, we had none. Exactly as the photos show, peaceful to sit on the back deck, read, drink coffee, and listen to the brook nearby. We had a very nice time!

Hospitality and Unexpected Compassion

We had a difficult journey to this cozy cottage, including vomiting dogs and deep exhaustion after a difficult year teaching. Mr. and Mrs. Prime were absolutely the best hosts we have ever experienced. They even washed the most "vomit-impacted" blanket. This lovely cottage is nestled across from a picturesque Christmas tree farm. It is a quiet, country setting. The cottage itself is curated with delightful reminders of the past. It is just about the cleanest place we have ever stayed in. The Primes even provide snacks and a personalized welcome to their cottage. Your hosts really care about your stay, your well being, and your comfort. Two things to mention that I did not see in other reviews. This cottage is a very short jaunt to Lake Glenville, a huge lake with lots of family activities. And there is a hot tub - 'nuff said. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Prime, for your extra-ordinary hospitality.

Wonderfully comfortable cottage

We love this area for hiking and waterfalls and based our latest trip from this wonderful cottage. It had absolutely everything you could ask for, including a nice tranquil and private location to relax after a day of hiking and exploring. Thanks to Chris for her hospitality and the great breakfast casserole, we can't wait to go back.

Great Week

The historic house is simple but has a great floor plan. Very large bedroom for this size house. We spent hours on the front porch enjoying the view of the field and old barn across the street. And our Lab really enjoyed the creek! Highly recommend.

The Perfect Cabin

The Cabin, which is a 100 yrs old, was just perfect. You walk in, and immediately just fall in love with the rustic, yet comfortable and cozy feel of the place. Just so quite and peaceful, especially with the creek behind the cabin. My wife and I absolutely loved it.

Perfect anniversary trip!

We had such a great time staying in the cottage to celebrate our anniversary. The cottage was cozy and perfect for two with lots of little extra touches provided by the host. The hot tub was a great way to spend a chilly November night. The cottage is super close to Cashiers and convenient to Highlands also. Chris and Jim were gracious hosts. We would happily come back any chance we can!

Reset Button

We adopted some of our grandchildren so we are an older couple raising teenagers!!! We needed a reset, a breather and this was just the place. Far enough out that privacy was great, close enough to town to get what might be needed. A great place to unwind.

Cozy and cute

Cute cabin that was very easily found in the dark! Comfortable bed, great fireplace, and handy little notes around to help us with lights and such. Chris and Cricket live just up the hill so they’re available for any needs and so easy to communicate with! The hot tub was great! Close to Cashiers and right off Lake Glennville.

A relaxing time watching the stars

Excellent hosts who respond to your every need. Cabin is clean and has all you could ever want for cooking, linens and blankets. Clean hot tub on patio. Walk over a small bridge on top of a small creek to find a large yard with a fire pit. We found an upscale restaurant named Happs which had great food, live music, an outdoor area and a large fire pit. We enjoyed our 2 days of relaxation and fun!

Snowy escape!

This cabin is perfect for two! It’s like a step back in time. It snowed both days and temps were in the 20’s, which made for awesome hot tub soaks. Chris made sure the driveway was cleared of snow. We had a WONDERFUL TIME!

Cozy and very comfortable.

Absolutely everything was covered, from top-to-bottom. The property owners were in touch almost a week out to ensure that we were properly prepared, and even offered up trail suggestions once they knew it was a hiking trip. We felt welcomed as soon as we walked in the door, and it felt like anything that we needed was only a text message away. Everyone will find the Cedar Cabin very comfortable.

Cabin in the Woods

Our stay was what we needed. The inside of cabin was fine, however, the back deck needs some attention. The cushions we’re wet, outside table dirty and there was a crab apple tree overlooking deck which dropped little apples and made it a mess. Front porch was comfortable. The cabin was convenient to Grenville Lake, which is a calm, quiet lake. Make sure to make pontoon reservations well ahead of time.

Delightful and charming

We had a delightful week at this charming and restful place, that is full of historical charm with all the modern conveniences. I grew up in an 100+ great old home, so this felt sweetly like going back to my childhood. The gurgling stream can be heard from inside the cabin and every nook and cranny is filled with delightful and relaxing mountain reminders. The hosts couldn't have been more kind and caring, even leaving little gifts and notes for our anniversary. We felt extremely cared for. This sweet cabin is for anyone who appreciates the charm of historical houses. We will definitely be back.

Very cozy cabin with wonderful hosts

The wife and I spent 4 nights in this 100 year old cabin. We brought our two dogs for them to enjoy some colder weather, being from Florida we all needed to cool off a bit. We had a wonderful experience. The cabin is old but cozy and has all the comforts needed. Chris and Jim Prime were wonderful hosts, very attentive and hospitable. Christine even made us a very yummy bon voyage breakfast casserole on the day we checked out.The cabin was clean and well stocked. It was perfect for the wife and I and our two crazy pups, they were very happy. There were plenty of heaters to keep us warm as well. The bed was very comfortable and cozy. We arrived with a thoughtful welcome note and a nice bottle of wine...as well as several snacks. The grounds are well kept and maintained. The back deck is awesome, large, clean, right on the beautiful creek behind the house, and has a gate so being able to corral the pups up there, when needed, was nice. They also had plenty of room in the back to run around. The cabin is close to the road but there wasn't much traffic so we never noticed while inside. I would say about one vehicle per hour on average during the day.The area is awesome, plenty of sightseeing and great hiking trails with some beautiful falls and scenery, shopping and some nice dining spots. We spent some time in Cashiers, Sapphire and the Highlands. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and greatly appreciated the wonderful hosts Christine and Jim Prime, highly recommend.
