Annual Lakehouse trip

Enjoyed the Olympic National park and the Lake. We had wind, rain and gorgeous sunshine. House was so comfy and enjoyable. Sol Duc Falls and Hurricane Ridge were awesome. Hall of mosses, Marymere falls and Madison Falls were great!! Eagles were going wild and the ducks were hiding under the docks. It was another great trip. Thank you for opening your home for us.

Comfortable house perfect for families

Great house. Very cozy and had all the house and lake amenities we needed. Beautiful views even better than the photos. My family with 4 kids ages 4 to 9 loved every minute of it and can’t wait to go back again.

Long weekend retreat

House is right on Lake Sutherland with amazing views. Everything you need is right there in the house. We were able to cook meals, bbq and there were kayaks, paddle boards and a canoe for use. It was a great home base for exploring Lake Crescent.

Beautiful location perfect for our family

We love Lake Sutherland and the property was perfect for us. Since the house was all one level, our baby could crawl around everywhere. The beach and lake were beautiful and it was close to lots of hikes and Lake Crescent. The house was clean and we enjoyed sitting on the deck and eating outside. We can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful stay for friends

We stayed as three families in the three bedrooms. Very comfortable. Two lounging deck chairs and plenty of deck tables with seating. Bring camp lounge chairs if you need more. The SUPs and kayaks were appreciated. All necessary but salt and sugar available in the kitchen. The general store a short walk away was a bonus. Sunny side of the lake is a bonus. Well appointed. My husband and I didn’t have our kids so we stayed in the twin beds. Very comfortable bedding

Visit to Paradise

Our 2nd trip was incredible. Visited so many amazing spots and enjoyed the sunrise and sunset on the lake. Missed the fish but it was fall and they were deep and not biting near the surface. Great food, fun and relaxation. This place has it all!! See you in the fall. Lloyd and family

Amazing place to stay in the beautiful outdoors!

This place is awesome! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy a nice, relaxing week in the pacific northwest. The lake is beautiful and the deck is spacious. Perfect place to stay if you want to enjoy the Olympic National Park, or just want to hang out and relax by a lake. Owners are great. Very accommodating and easy to deal with. Made us feel at home. We look forward to coming back!!!

Great weekend Get A Way....

We really enjoyed our stay...great location, lots of fun on the Lake. The house had lots of space! The only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are :ISSUES" with the Dishwasher ( needs to be replaced or something, water would leak out! We chose to do our fishes by hand!!

Excellent

The house was beautiful and spacious. The grounds were great with 2 docks and a fire pit. There were enough tables and chairs for our group of 10. The umbrella on the table was very much appreciated as the weather was sunny during our trip. The only need we had was soap in the bathrooms. Everything else was wonderful.

Fine, but the toaster oven is apparently kaput . . . We tried to use it but it started to smoke so we just stopped it and then unplugged it.

Relaxing escape

We had an amazing and relaxing time at the lake house. The hime had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The view of the lake and mountains was breathtaking especially at sun set. The water was clear and cool but not cold. We grilled out and played on the lake. The paddle boards and kayaks were good fun for my brother and me. Everyone else enjoyed hanging out on the deck laughing at us trying to get up on the paddle boards as this was our first time trying. The house is a but touched away and felt very provate and peaceful. We all agreed we would love to come back and stay longer.

Horrible refund policy

We had a wonderful stay at the lake property. However it is taking 2 weeks to get our refund back. Moreover, we were asked to either put down more for a deposit or buy a supplemental insurance policy (which we did). Called VRBO to inquire and they state it is their policy that they can take up to 40 business days to refund a deposit.

The Perfect Lake Home Getaway!

We have traveled and stayed in many VRBO properties but this one is probably our favorite! We traveled here with our four small kids and my two parents to stay for 3 nights. Not only was the house just comfortable and well decorated but it was FULLY stocked with anything we would need!! Kitchenware, bedding, life jackets, games, outdoor activity items, towels, basic food items, etc. We had so much fun with the stand up paddle boards, canoe, paddle boat, fishing poles and fire pit! My kids will never forget the time we had at the house!! Such memories created in such a relaxed and beautiful home and lake!! The owner and the property manager were so friendly and kind, giving us tons of information about things to do in the surrounding area too! The location was perfect for access to amazing hikes, to the Olympic Rainforest, Port Angeles and even day trips to Neah Bay and Sequim! Can not recommend this place enough!!!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

My family and I stayed here for a few nights earlier this month and had a wonderful time. The house is spacious, plenty of room for all of us and the view from every room and the enormous deck is incredible. The location on the lake cannot be beat as the house is on the sunny side of the lake, allowing us to enjoy the boats and paddle boards all day despite the April chill. The house is well appointed with comfy beds and had everything we needed to prepare meals. We appreciated the inclusion of a crock pot which allowed us to explore the peninsula during the day and come home to a home cooked meal. Crescent Lake and the Olympic National Park is just minutes away, and the house is less than an hour from Sequim and only 30 minutes to Port Angeles for shopping and more sightseeing . There is also a small market minutes away if you need something, and Granny's Cafe serves up great home cooked food. We rented a boat and life jackets from Andy, he was very helpful and his prices were reasonable.

Perfect location

This property was the perfect location and had the amenities needed to keep kids and adults entertained all day on the lake. We loved our stay!!! We were disappointed in the condition of the deck with many of the nail heads sticking up and paint chipping or peeling. Two of the teens got their foot caught on nail heads, which did not require stitches, but were deep and bleeding. Also several had deep splinters from the deck. We used the first aid kit daily. We all thought that the deck needs attention, perhaps using countersunk screws instead of nails, and a good weather sealer instead of paint. The ladder on the dock needs to be more securely attached. The boards the ladder is attached to have nails pulling out, so the ladder is not vertical but leans back at the top as you climb it, and then the body weight is levering the top loose even more. I also felt, for the price, the kitchen was not very well stocked or organized with clean utensils and pots and pans. We did love our stay but these were just a couple of things that stood out. We lost one of the small paddles, which sank when one of the kids capsized a boat, and couldn’t be located and retrieved. A small red and black child’s swim fin was also lost in a similar manner. Thanks again for sharing your place with us.

It's an expensive aging double-wide

It's a great location, with wide waterfront access to the lake. Overall, it's clean and reasonably tidy. And, it's in the last stage of it's life. The deck and docks feel borderline unsafe to walk on from settling and weathering. The double-wide itself is clean and reasonably comfortable, but it's tired. The shower in the master bathroom leaked the whole time we were there. The recently laid carpet and vinyl flooring are of moderate quality. You can feel the carpet staples when walking barefoot and the vinyl flooring would buckles from expansion when it got warm. If we didn't pay a premium for the property ($750 a night after fees), I'd be okay with it. But, I've stayed at much nicer VRBOs with waterfront access for less and would recommend looking around before you agree to such a hefty price for a worn-out double-wide.

Originally from Southern California, my father was drawn to the incredible beauty of the lake, and knew immediately how special this place truly was. Today it remains with the Bird family and is a place we all come together for special gatherings.

Why they chose this property

This home has been in my family for more than 10 years and has been the foundation for some wonderful memories! Were excited for you to make some great ones as well with your friends and family!

What makes this property unique

We want you to enjoy the property just like our family does. We provide paddle boards, canoe & paddle boats. You won't find another property like it on the lake. We're on the coveted sunny side of the lake, which enables you to truly enjoy the property during the long summer days. We're on an oversized double lot at lake level. Ample parking on site. No hiking to the property. No hiking down to the dock. We have 1600 sq ft of deck right off the house to spread out, lounge around and enjoy the beauty. A few steps down off the deck & there is about 200 ft of grassy lakefront between our 2 private docks. There's a fire pit to gather around & roast marshmallows. In addition, the community boat launch & dock & picnic area is a few houses away. No need to drive halfway around the lake to launch your boat. And, if you don't have your own boat, we'll put you in contact with someone to rent from. The house itself is an 1810 sq ft one-level ranch home. It's roomy & spacious. You will not feel cramped by small rooms on multiple levels. Almost every room has lake & mountain views that you can take in from bed. The house is tucked away at the end of the community which provides ample privacy. It's ideal for all types of gatherings, whether you're looking for an intimate retreat among friends or somewhere the whole family can enjoy. This property has it all!!!
