We had a wonderful two week stay at Gamrie Lodge. The holiday home offered us all the comfort we could wish for a pleasant and relaxing stay and the very delightfully landscaped garden, very discreetly tended by our host, offers additional relaxation. In terms of location, Gamrie Lodge is an ideal location for taking beautiful trips and walks along the coast. We look forward to seeing this beautiful place again soon.
Would highly recommend The Stables. Stuart and Kevin were lovely hosts and really knowledgable about the local area. The garden was fantastic and just right for a spot of garden cricket! Accommodation was very clean and very well equipped with everything we needed to have a really comfortable stay. We were a party of two teenagers and two adults and we had plenty of space to relax, eat and sleep. The local area was so beautiful. Would recommend the walk between Gardenstown and Crovie and great crabbing in Gardenstown too. So many lovely places to visit within an hours drive as well as slightly further afield. It was great to have such a comfortable home to come back too in the evenings. We had the best holiday and really hope to visit again. Thank you Stuart and Kevin.
Gerne wieder!
When booking this property I read all of the reviews and it sounded fantastic. The reviews were right. This is an idyllic property hidden away from everything but in reality only a few miles away from Banff and the seaside. With easy access to the main roads we managed to travel to both Balmoral and Culloden without difficulty.
The hosts were lovely and kind. The property was fabulous and certainly good value for money.
We have no hesitation in recommending both the property and the hosts.
As an aside if you’re looking for a nice beach Cullen Bay was really nice too and only about half an hour away from the property in the car.
Loved the property and although it was in a rural location, it was ideal for exploring Aberdeenshire. The house was a lovely place to stay - very comfortable and had everything required for the holiday.
Situated off one of the many "B" Roads so very peaceful as soon as we arrived. Tables and chairs dotted about cottage and one for 4 in garden. Cottage has all thats required . Coffee machine is for Tassimo pods not Nespresso pods.
All the coastal villages, cliffs and paths are so close and the views from car approaching breathtaking. If you love nature the RSPB reserve at Troup Head is well worth a visit. Its unmanned so just leave a donation.
Met Kevin and Stuart ( the Bee Boy owners ) and were there if required.
All in all the perfect place to unwind where the rule is No Rules
Thanks S & K
Property was spotless and while in the middle of nowhere provided easy access by car to Banff and the various costal villages and fab beaches. Aden country park also worth a visit. Good wifi connection also a big plus as was garden.
Hat uns sehr gefallen. Vermieter war sehr freundlich. Gute, ruhige Lage.

Comfortable cottage
Big modern cottage (beside from the coinmeter for electricity...). Rental price is very good! This cottage should be rented all year as the area (underestimated???) is wunderful. It offers you a beautiful coastline, little villages, hilly rural landscape, and as whole Scotland was suffering from showers, here it was dry with sunny spells! We did not have to use the car a lot, as almost all beautiful walks were in the neighbourhood. For walkers we advise buying the OS 29 Banff & Huntly at the tourist office Banff (open from March until the end of October). Gamrie Lodge offers no folders or visitorsbook so you have to find out for yourself.

Memorable stay in this delightful retreat
We booked one of the cottages for half term this Autumn. Easy distance from Aberdeen airport but felt that we were really tucked away from hectic life. The cottage was immaculate and spacious.
Whilst contemporary in its style, it still retains a cosy feel - the warmth from the fire in the living room when we set the logs was so welcoming after days walking in the countryside or by the sea.
We love good food and cooking and found that the kitchen was well laid out, well equipped and easy to use. We shopped in Banff - a lovely, friendly town with straightforward shops to keep you stocked throughout your stay.
The bedrooms were clean and well laid out - storage, even with all the winter clothing, was good. The main bedroom has a basin which was helpful given that there is only one bathroom - saved on any queuing to brush teeth!
Overall I would very happily recommend this lovely place - great for friends over Hogmanay I am sure but I am sure that it is also great in the summer.
The owners were around but not intrusive - helpful and obviously keen to make sure everything is there for you.
Enjoy your stay!!

Why they chose this property
Always wanted to live in a period property in the country but close to the sea. Gamrie Lodge ticked all the boxes although many of the renovations have been lengthy and costly.
What makes this property unique
The house has a spiral staircase extending up all four floors, who couldn't love that!
