This property was ideal for our needs. The only small bump was the beds weren't made when we arrived. I rented linens from the recommended company and their website stated the fee covered beds being made upon arrival. Not a big issue just thought you might want to know for future reference.
Property had its ups and downs. Location was amazing. Property was not very clean when we arrived. We did our best to keep things clean and organized throughout the stay and still got charged with extra cleaning fees. The property in general was unkept and outdated.
We stayed at this location for a full week with a wide age range of kiddos, other than needing to get a baby gate for the stairs for our 1 year old we had no major issues within the home! What minimal problems there were the hosts were great at addressing quickly & were easily reached when needed
This was a wonderful house to stay in accommodating 5 adults and 2 kids. There was plenty of space for everyone. It was a great location on a quiet road close to a beach access. The only complaint we all had is the living/kitchen area was on the 3rd floor. It took a few days for it to cool off. It made it worse if we cooked on the stove/oven. If the air was set to around 75 instead of 80, it may not have been as bad. Maybe if you have the cleaning crew set it to a lower temp after they clean if guests are suppose to arrive that day, that may help. The dishwasher wasn’t installed very well. It took us a few times to get it running. Also, having an ice maker/water would’ve been very convenient. We had to purchase at least 10 bags of ice for the week. Overall, the stay was pleasant. We mostly stayed on the beach 5-7 hours per day.
Our family get-together of 10 really enjoyed our stay. The location was private and quiet, while having close access to the beach. The owners were very responsive and accomodating to our requests. One of our littles accidentally left a stuffy at the rental, and John was able to find it and ship it out to us - we really appreciated the quick responses and helpfulness!
We would definitely recommend a stay here and will be back!

Group of 10 family vacation
This home was in a great location, quiet neighborhood and a short easy walk to the beach. We enjoyed having the use of both decks and the swings were great, the common area was perfectly laid out for a large family and we appreciate the use of the wagon and beach chairs. However, there was lack of communication prior to the trip, leaving us unaware that towels, toilet paper, paper towels and linens were not provided until a few hours before check-in. So be aware you will need to provide these items for your trip.
The stay was amazing!!! The beach was amazing. Everything at the house was exactly how the owers said!!! My only complaint was the comforters in the rooms and the mattresses were all dingy and dirty looking. Other than that it was AMAZING!!!
Thank you so much for this pleasurable visit!!!!

Great house in a fantastic location!
If what you're looking for the glitz and trash of Myrtle Beach, stay away! But if what you want is a relaxing vacation, this is the place! Kure Beach is the perfect place to unwind and this house helps you do just that. John has always been great with making accommodations. Always in great condition and has everything you could need. Just a short walk to the water and pier, several local restaurants to choose and of course, Brit's Donuts! Cannot wait to go again next year!
This house was perfect for my family and my sister's family. There was plenty of space and the main living space was large enough for all of us!
Not sure if it was my lack of reading about the house, but the top 3rd floor that has the queen bedroom is also were the kitchen, living room and dining room are too. I assumed the 3rd floor only had the one bedroom and bathroom.
thanks for letting us stay at your house!
This was absolutely a perfect pick for our family. We have been going to Kure for years and this was our favorite rental of the bunch. We definitely hope to enjoy it again. It's a block from the beach, so it was easy to come and go and leave our stuff on the sand. And the house is so spacious, we got to sleep in even though our early-rising kids didn't. And speaking of the beds, they were so comfortable we wanted to bring them home with us. We felt so at peace in this house we were content to stay in most nights. Couldn't say enough about it.
House Location and everything was great except the dish washer smells bad and the couch was dirty under the pillows tried to call to notify but no answer or response other than that it was a success

Nice but could have been cleaner
Older property that could use a good cleaning and some fresh paint, new carpets and updates in the bedrooms. Although the kitchen is beautiful and has a lot of nice features and updates it had minimal supplies, pots that looked like they had been used over a campfire, and no sharp knives for cutting things like vegetables. If you’re looking for a large house with a nice amount of bedrooms and bathrooms and don’t necessarily care about aesthetics then this is a great place to stay!
In general the place is nice and has plenty of space. The cleaning crew should be ashamed of the quality of work. Soap scum on shower door, baseboards haven't been dusted in weeks, dust on ceiling fans and registers, there was even a pile of dirt left in the corner of the kitchen. I am not one to want to look for a full reimbursement but I feel that I should not be charged for the cleaning service as it was not clean when we arrived. Hoping the property owner/management will take care of the cleanliness. Other than that home accommodated our needs.

Find another place
We returned to this house because it is in a nice location. The house wasn’t very clean last year, but doable. The refrigerator had cooling issues last year, and nothing was changed or corrected. It smelled like rotten fish. This year it was much worse and we had a/c unit issues which resulted in a ceiling coming down in the bathroom on the second floor. Communication with the owner was subpar. Apparently, according to the a/c repair company, the problem has been ignored, repeatedly. He grudgingly reimbursed our family for two days and a ruined overnight bag, where we dealt with issues since mid-week. We are a family of 12 that had to manage using just two bathrooms. I would suggest finding other accommodations. With the right ownership, this would be a lovely property.

Disappointed
The house was in a great location...close to the beach and had a nice ocean view from the top deck. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the open floor concept of the third floor.
When we first arrived we noticed the house did not appear to be very clean. The ceiling fans and air conditioning intake vents were full of dust (along with the baseboards). One bedroom had a tv that no longer functioned sitting on the floor while the one that operated (i suppose) rested on top of the dresser against the mirror (anchored to nothing). The paint and carpet could stand to be freshened up. There were only 5 out of the 6 chairs at the dinner table. Additionally, the air conditioning was not working on any of the three floors when we arrived. John was helpful in taking care of getting this fixed but the repairman was there until around 9pm that night.
When we went to prepare our dinner the first night the oven caught fire so it ended up being a Dominos night while the oven self cleaned for several hours.
The next morning we tried to make breakfast only to realize that the stovetop was not functional unless someone went to the first floor to turn on the breaker. Then if you turned the left front burner it stayed on high until said breaker was turned off. So every time we wanted to use the stovetop it was down to the first floor to turn on and off.
When trying to get silverware (which didn't match) from the silverware drawer the drawer came off the hinges and ended up in the trash can. My brother in law fixed this as well.
The kitchen was not well equipped. When the kids wanted to bake brownies they found 2 measuring cups (1/2 and 1/4 cup) and no baking dishes. Also, none of the dinner plates matches and if you wanted a bowl of cereal you had about 4 plastic bowls to choose from. We ended up purchasing plastic utensils, paper plates and cups, in addition to aluminum baking pans and dishes in order to adequately prepare and eat food for the week.
The refrigerator also did not stay cold and we ended up throwing $80 worth of meat away.
Overall we were very disappointed with the accommodations. Thank goodness we enjoyed our time there with family and were able to still make the most of our time at Kure Beach. The town was lovely and everyone was so friendly. We will definitely be back to Kure but certainly not to this home.
The home is well appointed and spacious. Plenty of room for us to be together and enjoy some privacy. It is in a beautiful area and convenient to everything you need. Be sure to checkout the nearby aquarium.
We were expecting to entertain 18-24 people for my sons wedding and hurricane Ian disrupted those plans a bit. Ended up being only 9 of us but the house would have easily held us all for dinner/drinks. Abby and John were gracious and accomadating. Enjoyed the stay!
