Cabin Baleen is located in the back pocket of some of the best fishing Alaska and America has to offer. The fish range from salmon and halibut to trout and cod. Laura, Alex's most loving wife, is also a great asset to your stay here, especially if you speak Spanish or Portuguese. Laura is a world traveler and great conversationalist.
This vacation rental is a fully equipped home including a stove and refrigerator dishwasher, as well as a washer and dryer. There are two bedrooms with four extra long twin beds and 1.5 baths.
I'm happy to share my extensive knowledge with you about all things Ketchikan which includes where to find the types of fish you're targeting and the techniques I like to use to bring them in.

About the host

Hosted by Alex MacGillivray

Host profile image
Alex came to Ketchikan in February of 1998 under a contact from the local hospital from Detroit, Michigan and never left, once he caught his first salmon. He was hooked, just like you will be.
Settling into the Clover Pass area, eleven miles north of town, to be closer to the docks and closer to the fish was a decision that lead him to open his property to the world and to share his love of fishing and Alaska to anyone who wished to come visit.

Why they chose this property

Clover Pass Resort and Knudsen Cove marinas are both in very close proximity to Cabin Baleen and both have boats to rent as well as blast freezers to capture the beauty and freshness of your catch for the time to come. But don't let the fish wait for more than 12 months or the freshness will fade.

What makes this property unique

Alex has an intimate knowledge of fishing techniques and all the sweet spots north of town as well as some high producing sites south of town and near the Canadian boarder. No matter if you're looking for salmon or bottom fish, Alex has the spots for you
