Nice little place - excellent location with very quick walk to the beach! It has all the basics. It is very cozy, but we were not inside much. The bed leaves a lot to be desired - it is low to the ground and not very comfortable - could probably be remedied with a new mattress. It got very hot by evening even with the doors open - windows are not screened - but a couple of fans helped. Overall it was a nice little place and the location very good.
Kitchen is fully functional. Heat is via space heaters and cooling is via fans. Worked well in March. Layout is fine, cloths storage is near the bathroom and not the bedroom. That works fine. The washer and dryer worked well and overall no real issues.
My stay here was great! Fast and easy communication with the host, and the unit was well kept. Great location too, just a quick walk to the beach. Only downside was the assigned parking spot being pretty tight. It was doable with my Tacoma, but a larger vehicle could be a real challenge.
This La Jolla property exceeded my expectations. The location is unbeatable with local eateries and convenient beach access nearby. The area is safe, and offers plenty of activities. The property itself was clean. Recommend for a memorable stay in La Jolla.
Enjoyable, cozy property in excellent location. Room with a view it is not but not our expectation. Owner is communicative and pleasant. We'd stay again.
Location and price can't be beat. Took our fur baby to the beach every morning, local restaurants were superb. A little cramped, especially the bathroom, but overall it was fine for a week for the two of us and our golden retriever.
A great small studio in walking distance to everything you need! Though the studio is small, the decor, and layout is done brilliantly giving you the room you need! Also being dog friendly was a huge plus.
This little place is bright, airy, high quality & well thought out renovated space as described in listing. Would stay here again. Location is quiet, despite being on block behind restaurants, shops & main road. I stayed here with my 17yo daughter spending a night. Lots of storage space & all you need in kitchen. Thanks A&L!
Chose this place for my honeymoon stay! It was wonderfully located! A walk from arguably the most beautiful beach in La Jolla (Windansea), extremely close to all the best food places, and a quick drive into San Diego and the rest of La Jolla! Super easy to access and so so clean! 100% recommend to anybody! I could see myself staying here again in the future. My husband and I loved it!
The location is great -- within a few blocks of Windnsea beach and even downtown La Jolla. The construction next door was pretty loud, starting pretty early even on Saturday. I was working a lot of the time I was there though and thought this space was perfect! Good wifi and parking.
Super clean! Super small, but we knew that from the listing.
Could really use some curtains on those beautiful windows. Love it and would highly recommend it for the price!
So, I got in late at night. I had had a long day of travel. I was quite grumpy and had a hard time finding the place. I was just so tired. But I called the host and she was so calm and understanding! Helped me get settled in over the phone and made sure I was okay. The stay was PERFECT! Highly recommend the location and the host and the place. Location was wonderful, walking distance to the beach, everything worked, just can’t say enough nice things. And check out Candor for a nice meal within walking distance.

Nice place, solid location, but ant problem
My wife and I stayed a week in this cozy little place end of April/beginning of May. Love the decor and interior of the place. Location is right in the heart of La Jolla, a short walk down to the beach and several other great places to hang and eat. If you are used to central AC, this place does not have it, and it does get a little stuffy in the afternoons, but the owners do provide fans and you can open the window and let the natural cool air in (I personally loved the natural air). The only negative we experienced were sugar ants, and a lot of them. We bought food the first night and left some sitting on the counter (most of it unopened), and overnight it was covered in ants. We ended up having to put everything we bought in the fridge or else it would get attacked by ants. Ants got all over our toiletries in the bathroom as well and some even crawled on to the bed. I did call the property manager to let her know, and she seemed to think there was nothing they could do about it and that it was normal, which I found a little odd. The place is great, if there were no ants, it would have been an easy 5 stars, but having buy new food, toothpaste and toothbrushes after ants invaded was frustrating. Hopefully the owner gets this problem fixed soon. Aside from that though, great price and great for a couple who plans to spend most of the day out and about (there is so much to do in La Jolla/San Diego, you should be out anyway!). Comfy bed and smart TV for Netflix before bed.
Overall positive experience. Note: research states the average US hotel room is approximately 325sf. This unit is 125sf. It’s tiny. The space has been well designed but it’s still incredibly small. If you’re a large person, the bath and bedroom may be a challenge for you.
ADVICE TO GUESTS - Remember to bring or buy (7-11 close by) your own bath soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies, extra paper towels and extra toilet paper. Bring your own beach chairs. I couldn’t find any. Bringing a whisk broom and dust pan helped with inevitable sand.
UNIT PROBLEMS
ANT ISSUE - Although Guests are Advised by Owner to spray unit ants with the supplied Windex, it didn’t work well. I did this but still had ants in the bed and kitchen. That was upsetting.
LOCK ISSUE - The patio locks (screen and glass sliding doors) are broken and do not lock. The patio seems secure but I would have felt safer with a locking patio door.
SCREEN ISSUE - Mosquitos are a problem because the front door screen has a gap and the back screen doesn’t fit the door anymore.
COOLING ISSUE - No AC. No ceiling fans, but a good-working table fan is available. Ceiling fans would really help.
Most of these issues are deferred maintenance issues the Owner can easily remedy if so inclined. The ANT ISSUE is a deal breaker - the owner needs to get a pest control company contract.
That being said, I still had a good time. I cooked my own breakfast and lunch. Okay kitchen. I went out to dinner every night. Great restaurants. I walked 5-11 miles every day as I explored and truly enjoyed beautiful La Jolla. There’s so much to see and do. This unit is close to everything.
