About this property
Modern villa in park swimming pool and floodlit tennis court
Villa offering high quality amenities such as a large heated (in season 15 May-15 September) swimming-pool and a flood-lit artificial clay tennis court, 6-7 twin bedrooms with en suite facilties and located only 25 minutes from the Nice Airport and with easy access to all that the Côte d'Azur has to offer.
The villa sits on a bluff 422 mtrs. above sea level, enjoying a fantastic panoramic view that stretches from the Cap Ferrat in the east by the Cap d'Antibes to the Massif de l'Esterel Mountains in the west.
The 9,000 sq. mtr. garden is organized on three flat levels and reputedly it took ten men three years to build the natural stone walls through the olive grove with more than 50 olive trees so as to create this wonderful garden. A professional gardener spends 2 days a week maintaining the garden which benefits from an automatic irrigation system.
In the garden, right in front of the house you will find a heated (in season 15 May-15 September) swimming pool of more than 100 sq. mtrs. with a swim trainer built in as well as a professional tennis court made of artificial clay, fully floodlit to exploit the evening coolness.
In the garden there is also a boulodrome so that a game of petanque can be enjoyed as well as a professional Ping-Pong table.
The property is located less than 1 kilometer from the lovely village Tourrettes sur Loup which has retained a lot of its authenticity with many arts and crafts shops while still offering a number of restaurants, including one with a Michelin star as well as shops for all your needs (two bakers, two groceries, butcher, a weekly market etc.).
The area has a number of well-known hiking routes and is often frequented by cyclists, both on and off road.
The Tourrettes sur Loup area is rightly known for its fresh air and never gets humid, even in the midst of summer so with the coast only 20 minutes away, it is a perfect location.
The villa is 400 sq. mtrs. on one level with Travertine marble floors throughout (heated with under-floor water-based advanced thermostat control heating in the heating season) and has been in our Danish family's ownership since 1985 and has been lovingly maintained and updated throughout so that it is today in an excellent condition.
The villa has a very large lounge with panoramic view of the sea with a dining area leading on to vast terraces including a covered barbecue area (with a state-of-the art Weber gas grill and a Solamagic terrace heaters) as well as a lovely Provencal style courtyard. There are also plenty of spots in which to put one of the many sun loungers.
There is an additional, smaller lounge, called the Champagne lounge, also with a panoramic view as well as a large sitting hall. This lounge converts to a supplemental double bedroom if 7 bedrooms are required
The house has two master suites with panoramic sea views and with lavish en suite facilities (very large marble and granite bathrooms with showers and bathtubs and separate toilet for one) and ample cabinet space.
There are four further bedrooms that can be either double or single, depending on requirements, also with en suite facilities (two are sharing a full bathroom and two having their own toilets and washrooms, sharing only a shower room and having direct access to the west-facing Provencal terrace). Further the Champagne lounge can be converted to a single or double bedroom as required.
There is a very well-appointed and large kitchen with a dining area, two ovens, induction cooktop, dishwasher, washing machine and a walk-in cool room (for fruit, vegetables, wine, etc.) with direct access to the two terraces
The pool is subject to weekly maintenance by a professional company.
The house is equipped with fibre high speed internet and wifi as well as a 55" television and a PS 4 and further two 40 " TVs, all with access to a large number of TV channels and any of the streaming subscriptions that you may bring with you.
All beds are premium quality multi-pocket spring mattresses with Scandinavian style light duvets and cotton bedwear from Høie Krepp. Most windows are covered by outside white wooden shutters. Towels are premium Egyptian cotton from John Lewis Oxford Street
The house sleeps 12 (can be extended to 14) and has four bathrooms and a total of seven toilets. The neighboring L'Aminexe (150 metres away in the parc) with full kitchen and bathroom can be rented separately to provide an extra two beds (and some quiet/distance to the main house).
We prefer longer rentals to give you the full experience and will offer appropriate discounts to long-termers. Please get in touch!
The town of Vence with a large Leclerc supermarket and a smaller Carrefour Contact supermarket and a number of very good food shops and some nice restaurants and cafés is only 4 kms. away. St Paul, another medieval town with shops and restaurants (including famous Restaurant la Colombe d'Or) and the Fondation Maeght modern art museum just outside, is also just 4 kms. away.
If you are a golfer there are more than 15 golf courses within easy reach of the villa and thus a possibility of playing some of the most famous golf courses (book ahead!).
The nearby big city of Nice offers a lot of cultural activities, museums and festivals as well as a very vibrant restaurant scene including in the Vieux (Old) Nice with its morning flower market and lovely Baroque churches.
Cannes is also worth a visit with its lovely Promenade Croisette and its many high fashion boutiques and art galleries as well as restaurants and bars - on or off the great beach. From there you can also board a ferry for a short crossing to the Iles de Lerins islands which are lovely.
Antibes is a lovely antique town that has a Picasso museum, a very good restaurant scene, excellent beaches and the largest yacht harbour around.
St- Tropez with its beaches and glitteraty can be easily reached on a day trip as can Monaco with its Casino and Palace or Italy to visit the Friday market in Ventimiglia or one of the lovely towns along the coast or in the hills behind.
We have been coming to this area for decades and guarantee that you will be hard pressed to be bored - in between all the relaxing.

About the host
Hosted by Claus Bennetsen

I have spent most of my holidays on the Côte d'Azur since the early 1970'ies when I was just a boy. We work in Denmark but try to spend as much time as possible in this lovely place and only rent it out when we do not use it ourselves.
Why they chose this property
The stunning views, the fantastic park, the fresh air, the quiet and the very high build quality of the villa made the acquisition very quick. Since then we have continuously updated the property to its current high standard.
What makes this property unique
Countryside feel, away from the hustle and bustle and yet only a short distance away from all that the Côte d'Azur has to offer. Or stay in and enjoy pool, park and play tennis, Ping Pong, petanque and stroll to lovely Tourrettes sur Loup to pick up fresh bread, fruit and vegetables, stop for a coffee or a meal or go there for dinner and enjoy the less than 1 kilometer walk back.
