About this property
Unique Miami Getaway in Miami’s Top Rated Coconut Grove Tropical Paradise!
Indulge in the ultimate relaxing tropical escape! Unwind on a private deck amidst lush greenery & Costa Rican wood floors. Immerse yourself in a meticulously designed one-bedroom oasis with a fully furnished interior, incl. a well-equipped kitchen, coffee station, breakfast table, cozy living room, washer/dryer & blackout shades. Conveniently located in a quiet, upscale residential near vibrant Downtown Coconut Grove, with easy access to Miami's top attractions. Please NOTE: No events or outside guests are allowed at the property.
Enjoy a captivating paradise where majestic wild peacocks roam freely and are fed at the property daily.
As a guest staying overnight, you will....
☞ Wake up to the morning calls of peacocks from your comfy queen bed. The ability to dim ceiling lights at night is a nice touch. What a restful night after such a simple self-checking. The 15 min. Lyft from the airport was easy.
☞ Roll up the blackout curtains to discover double glass doors that open onto your “slice of heaven” & bring in a tropical oasis that feels like Costa Rica or Bali.
☞ "Drink in the smell of the flowering vines, including angel trumpets and night blooming jasmine".
☞ Step into your expansive natural wood deck that merges into a vertical green wall with passion fruit vines intertwined with string lights, hidden amongst coconut, palm, almond & oak trees manicured with orchids.
☞ Take out the yoga mats from your spacious closet & take your time to warm up for the day ahead.
☞ Prepare your complementary Costa Rican coffee in either the French Press or regular coffee maker possibly with milk prepared to perfection with the Nespresso frother.
☞ Why not prepare breakfast in the fully equipped & stocked kitchen. It even has under-cabinet lights like at home!
☞ Enjoy it in the hanging hammocks in the tiki hut, while admiring the orchids & garden birds.
☞ Time to enjoy the fully furnished bathroom & shower with awesome pressure, like a mini waterfall.
☞ There is shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, a hair dryer & even sun block, what a relief!
☞ Open your spacious closet to get beach towels + umbrella & head off to the beach!
☞ Time to explore the pergola in the afternoon! Turn on the fan & lay down in the hammock to start that book you finally get to enjoy, in between naps in the hammock. I almost forgot to bring the complimentary Bluetooth speaker.
☞ It’s so convenient to have clothes washing & drying at home – there’s even detergent onsite.
☞ Enjoy cooking in the Argentinian grill & sit down for dinner under the stars & cozy string lights.
☞ Sit on the coral rocks to enjoy conversation & dessert around the fire.
☞ How cool there’s a Sonos speaker to listen to music before finishing the day.
☞ There's a smart TV, a DVD player & DVDs but let me explore some of these books…

About the host
Hosted by Cat

I was born and raised in Costa Rica before moving to the United States for my studies. Along the way, I've had the incredible opportunity to live in diverse places such as Germany, England, and Los Angeles. These experiences have shaped my perspective and fostered a deep appreciation for different cultures and lifestyles.
Having had the privilege of extensive travel, I've developed a passion for exploration, movement, and adventure. I feel it is a privilege to discover new destinations and immerse myself in the vibrant tapestry of the world.
Despite my global adventures, Costa Rica remains close to my heart, as it is where my family resides. It will always be my cherished home, alongside the vibrant city of Miami. The warmth and hospitality ingrained in Costa Rican culture have influenced my approach to hosting, as I strive to create a welcoming and enriching experience for each guest.
In 2013, left corporate real estate life to volunteer & explore some more. From the Maasai tribe in Africa to Amazonian & indigenous tribes in Colombia & Costa Rica, I sought deeper cultural connections. In 2021 a new adventure began when connecting with my own neighborhood thanks to an orphan peacock called Magic which was delivered in my doorstep and magically has brought our neighborhood together.
Thank you for choosing my vacation rental. It is an honor to be your host and share my passions and experiences with you. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything I can do to help plan and make your stay truly exceptional.

Why they chose this property
Welcome to a place that holds a remarkable tale of perseverance and passion. Originally acquired as a foreclosure, this property was abandoned for numerous years, presenting a daunting challenge.
The journey began with the arduous process of clearing liens, a task that lasted over a year.. As fate would have it, I encountered an unexpected setback when the roof collapsed and the City, announced the imminent demolition of the property. Through tenacious negotiations, I was granted the opportunity to restore this dwelling to its former glory.
The true labor of love unfolded I undertook a complete gutting of the interior, while preserving the sturdy cement walls and floors. The transformation involving truckloads of soil to fill the previously overgrown lake and a dense "jungle" that once surrounded it. With unwavering commitment, every aspect was revitalized, from the fully renovated kitchen and bathrooms to the installation of hurricane windows, A/C systems, electric wiring, plumbing, sewer connections, trusses, roofs, and alarm systems.
Upon the completion of the project, I embarked on a life-changing journey to Africa, dedicating my time to volunteer work. Returning with renewed inspiration, I meticulously added the finishing touches, including a storage shed, beautifully crafted wood fences at the front and back, and an enchanting teak wood deck that seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape. The outdoor shower and bathroom, adorned with bamboo fences, harmoniously merge with the local lush beauty.
Stepping into your vacation rental, you'll sense the essence of Costa Rica, reminiscent of the place I proudly call home. Experience the extraordinary at my uniquely restored vacation rental, where a story of determination and transformation awaits your arrival.
Book your stay now and immerse yourself in the beauty of my labor of love.
What makes this property unique
The most extraordinary feature of my vacation rental is the abundance of Costa Rican teak wood throughout. This cherished wood holds a unique story, as it was planted by my father during my childhood. Together with the help of my brothers, we carefully cut the trees and applied the exquisite wood finishes crafted by our family business in Costa Rica. I personally took charge of the flooring and meticulous details, while the original cement walls and floors serve as a reminder of the property's history prior to our involvement: an abandoned crack house and the neighborhood's eyesore. Brace yourself for a tropical experience, as you encounter a Costa Rican retreat in South Florida.
