This was the perfect location to gather with our adult children for our annual family summer vacation. After canceling our original hotel-based trip due to the pandemic, we were looking for a property where we could spend a week relaxing, preparing all our own meals and never feeling the need to leave home.
We spent most of our time outdoors – playing lawn games in the huge yard, floating in the pool, sunbathing and enjoying cocktails. Pool towels, floats, noodles and even two ice buckets for the requisite Rosé were all provided. The large deck along the back of the house was perfect for morning yoga or a spirited late afternoon Ping-Pong game. The water views and perfect site placement for sunset viewing over the bay were spectacular. (Note: the private beach access to Peconic Bay, mentioned in the listing, is via a pathway about 3 houses away.)
The inside space is pretty special, too. When viewing the photos before booking, we didn’t really consider how much the artwork on the walls and the countless interesting houseplants would contribute to our sense of relaxation. There are numerous hangout and private spaces (both indoors and out) for conversing, playing board games, reading or participating in a Zoom class or meeting. The high-speed Internet was reliable and easily accommodated the needs of all 8 adults.
The kitchen was extremely well equipped for this group of amateur chefs. Any cooking, baking, prep or serving item could be found. The large island allowed space for multiple cooks and we had our choice of indoor or outdoor dining at two equally large tables.
Beginning with my initial inquiry and continuing throughout the whole rental experience, the owner Patti was pleasant and responsive, answering questions almost immediately. We would highly recommend this property.
