The Buffalo Suite is a large two bedroom apartment with private laundry room and bathroom. Entering the Buffalo Suite you walk into the living / dining room. The kitchen is the heart of this vacation rental with all doors leading though this vacation rental. I believe you will find all the necessities needed to cook a meal in our spacious kitchen tucked in our cabinets along with a full size stove and oven, refrigerator with freezer, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle and toaster. Air fryer upon request. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, breakfast bars and Italian homemade treats replenished daily.
Our walls are warped and our floors are slanted. We restored her history and bought in most of todays comforts like running water, electric, heat and air conditioning. Walk the floors the cowboys did over 100 years ago while you check out the" secret back staircase" that allowed the "ladies of the night" access to the second floor brothel.
Our location can't be beat, We are located in the heart of the downtown dining and shopping district. Crazy women square for city events is located across the street and George Washing Park is located one block behind us. The George Washing Park is home to Wyoming's largest swimming pool, tennis courts, playground and walking paths.
We are honored to be part of your vacation and are 100% committed and honest to our guest about our properties. What we advertise here is exactly what you will find upon arrival.
All Suite's are on the second floor. You will not find an elevator here, so you must be willing and able to walk the same steps the cowboys did over 125 years ago. (26 steps)
Get the real old west feel while staying in cowboy country. Check out the back staircase the “ Ladies of the night” used to hide from the “ decent folk “ on Main Street. Yes! When renovating we left the original “water closet” ( toilet ) in its original location at the rear of the hallway!
Take a step back in time and stay in one of the oldest buildings in Buffalo. Our unique vacation rentals have been updated with central air conditioning, heat, WiFi and televisions.
We are not a pet/animal friendly property.

Very historic and renovated into suites with charm, modern conveniences and a lot of room including kitchen and dining rooms. Would love to stay here again for a longer period.
We enjoyed everything about our stay. The property was exactly as advertised.
Met all our expectations as advertised. Manager very thoughtful and easy to with. Very clean and well stocked. Beds and furnishings excellent. Highly recommend as a fun place to stay while enjoying Buffalo
Loved it as soon as we opened the door. The historical atmosphere was so inviting and nostalgic. Yet every modern convenience was available. And it was so clean and well put together. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
And thanks for the rhubarb bread.

The renovation of this old hotel is wonderful! It's like walking into history. Our suite was so spacious and super comfortable. Everyone slept really well, and had plenty of room to do projects.
The rhubarb bread the host made for us was delicious!!
We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you!

Unique building with lots of space. Expect a few compromises with an older building, but overall fit needs of a family well.

Everything was perfect. Easy to book, easy check in process. Property had plenty of space and e use needed. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!
We stayed here for a weekend. Walking distance to all the downtown stuff in Buffalo. Cute, well maintained place above the shops downtown. We found the beds to be comfortable, even the pull out sofa. Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed staying in the Buffalo Suite. It was very spacious and clean. It’s also in close proximity to the pool, shops, and restaurants. We would definitely stay again.
Huge apartment on the main street in Buffalo. Our family of four had lots of space. There is one bathroom so it may be tight for a family for an extended stay. Modern conveniences but definitely a historic "occidental" feel. A short walk out the back to a beautiful park along Clear Creek. Owners were very responsive and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay.
I reserved this for my husband and 3 early 20’s sons after a backpacking trip. They were happy to have enough space and use of the washer/dryer!

My husband and I stayed here during our trip to Yellowstone. We loved the historic feel of the town. We booked the buffalo suite because it had Main Street views. Our suite was so large we could have stayed here for a month. Everything was very clean and well put together. We had our own washer and dryer along with a full kitchen. ( I didn't cook but I did do a load of wash)We liked that we didn't have to get back in the car to go out for dinner or grab a drink. There were plenty of dining options on Main St.for us to chose from. Cynthia the Owner was very nice and made sure we had coffee and homemade biscotti cookies for the morning. If you come in summer they offer free use of their Kayak boats and Backpacks!! It was to early in the season for us to use this perk. I will definitely be staying here again during our next trip through the area.

Centrally located to 'all the action'
Went for Fair and Rodeo, and the place is right there on Main Street, so you can walk to lots of places. Not for anyone who has trouble with stairs, however. It's a built-in exercise program...26 stairs to reach the suites. The owner was so helpful though, and we didn't have any trouble. For those attending Longmire Days, it's a perfect place to stay! The Capitol Hotel Suites are just down the street from the historic Occidental Hotel, but you get the added bonus of a kitchen, eating area and TV!

Terrific Hosts! Old World Charm With All the Modern Conveniences
This is a very cool old hotel that has been painstakingly and beautifully restored.
The rooms are uniquely furnished with vintage and antique pieces - it's totally charming. You really get a sense of being in America's West in the very BEST sense.
Our suite was very clean and we had everything we could need and more. Modern air-conditioning was really appreciated! So too was the coffee maker and delicious homemade cookies! WiFi was strong and absolutely no issues. Parking was onsite and free! Our gracious hosts, David & Cindy really made us feel at home.
They gave us excellent day trip information, history of the town, restaurant recommendations and just wonderful tourist information that was all the more welcoming and alluring coming from people who work and live in Buffalo.
The rodeo is not to be missed! A wonderful experience.
My husband and I highly recommend the Historic Capitol Hotel in Buffalo Wyoming. We stayed several nights and were in Buffalo during 4th of July celebrations. We loved every minute. So much that we're already planning our second visit.
Thank you Cindy & David for a wonderful holiday experience! :-)

Nothing special
Old and you have to climb 20 stairs to even get there. Not a free standing hotel but an old room over an old store. My kids were miserable with some terrible and strong allergen in the air.
When we wanted to leave, the door broke and we were locked and TRAPPED inside the room,
Overall, kind of eerie and scary.
Avoid.

I am shocked to have you leave such a miserable review. I met your husband and Aunt as they were packing your car. They said everything was wonderful, your Aunt even said it was lovely. Not once did your husband mention that you were LOCKED in your Suite or that there was a strange smell. All of our Suites are on the second floor as it is mentioned on our page. You also mentioned it was old, WELL it was built in 1894. We have spent the last 10 years restoring this beautiful building in historic Buffalo Wyoming. Maybe your vacation was a tad to long and perhaps a cookie cutter hotel better fits your personality.
I would also like to address your need to not only attack my family business but also attack another family business on Main Street. The family owned Sporting good store you attacked has been in business for over 50 years on Main Street and about 7 years ago expanded into our side of the building. They are known as one of the best sporting good store in the west. They carry the finest equipment you need for fishing, hunting, hiking and boating.
I wish you the best as well as your family practice and hope you never find yourself defending a false review like i am. God be with you

great!
We had a great time at Capitol Hotel. Much roomier than expected. The manager got us well oriented and I appreciated the coffee and coffeemaker. Unit was clean. WiFi worked well.
We worked out a couple times at YMCA and also enjoyed the pathway along the river. Buffalo is a beautiful place.

What makes this property unique
My Husband and I have been restoring The Old Capitol Hotel for the past 12 years. We have done our best to kept the original integrity of this 100+ year old building as well as add modern conveniences. When you stay in the Old Capitol you will be looking out windows and walking on hardwood floors that the old cowboys did over 100 years ago
