Graystone Lodge is a charming 2-story 4,000 sq. ft. cottage on Lake Latoka, featuring a yard designed for family fun! Enjoy shallow, sandy lake front perfect for swimming, or cast a line from the dock. During the summer months, enjoy cruising the lake on the 22 ft pontoon included with rental. The home features 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, and a dining room table that seats 12. Indoor fun includes a 50 in screen TV, indoor fireplace and plenty of table space for games or crafts.

OUTDOOR LIVING: Dock and 22 ft pontoon (May-September), covered upper deck with ceiling fans and dining table that seats 6 with additional chairs, gas grill, covered lower patio with ping pong table, Adirondack chairs that face lake, playset, lakeside dining table, fire pit, lounge chairs, volleyball/badminton net. Room to dock smaller private boat.

Kayaks, paddle boards and lily pad available for rent.

THE LOCATION

LAKE LATOKA: A deep, clearwater lake great for swimming, fishing and water recreation. Lake public access and a public swimming beach located on the north side (lifeguard staff present at this location). Latoka is made up of two lakes connected by a small waterway, Big and Little Latoka. It is stocked with Northerns, Crappies, Rock Bass, and Walleyes. The lake is 763-acres with a mean depth of 35ft and a max dept of 108 feet.

The property was great for our large family. Plenty of bedrooms, and the upstairs and downstairs spaces gave everyone plenty of room to spread out. The upper deck overlooking the lake was a favorite for everyone, and the pontoon made it easy to enjoy the lake. Plenty of dishes, cookware, towels, and other accommodations to make us feel right at home.

Annual Family get away

The house was spotless, in a great neighborhood, well stocked and the hosts were wonderful to work with. Really enjoyed taking the pontoon out and having a fire at night. Would definitely recommend for a family or group get away!

Great house on a nice lake

Plenty of room in the house for our group, we thoroughly enioyed the backyard, but it was especially nice taking the boat out on the lake for refreshing swims!

Family Weekend

What a beautiful stay! The house was great and the kids loved the play equipment and had a great time in the lake! The pontoon was a great size and everything was set up great! The hosts were very prompt when we had questions and very pleasant to work with. We highly recommend staying at this beautiful house.

Very nice place. Clean, rooms very comfortable, accommodating, everything we needed was available. The scenery beautiful and so peaceful. Enough towels, bedding, cooking needs. Just can't find anything wrong. Maybe one thing.....it was over to soon. Made wonderful memories. Thank you all.

Family Getaway

We had an absolutely delightful time at Graystone Lodge. The property itself is spacious, well-maintained and stocked with modern appliances, games, and toys. We particularly enjoyed swimming off of the dock and in deeper waters off of the pontoon. Our hosts were friendly and organized. I highly recommend this property to anyone staying in the Alexandria area.

Friends for fifty years.

We are a group of friends that are like a big family. We had a great time at the house playing games, talking and riding the pony when it didn't rain. We highly recommend it.

Great Lakehouse for large groups

We had a large group of teachers getting away for a weekend over MEA. The house was beautiful and worked great for our weekend away. The lake the house is situated on is beautiful, and it would be a great spot for a summer at the lake. The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. The double kitchens came in handy for our large group meals. The back yard overlooking the lake was amazing and perfect for yard games!

Family Vacation

The location and home are beautiful. The playground area was a hit with our 7 grandchildren and got plenty of use. My grandson was super excited the first day we arrived when he caught a nice bass right off the dock. The lake has a variety of fish including a 28" & 25" walleye that were caught & released (pictures taken : ) while enjoying some night fishing. The owners are easy to work with and quick to respond. We had a great week and highly recommend this home for a family getaway.

Wonderful Stay!

The house was perfect and so spacious for our girls weekend. It had everything we needed and more in the kitchen for cooking and entertaining. The bedrooms were comfortable and stocked with extra blankets and pillows. The yard had lots of space for games and hanging out. Our favorite feature was the huge deck that overlooked the lake with stunning views at night. Our hosts were very attentive at responding to questions and made the check in and out process so easy. It's also in a perfect location - not too far from the city and close to several activities in Alexandria. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Ok. If you are looking for a family stay...this is the place. Seriously, we have been renting different homes for years in October and this one was fabulous. 2 totally separate spaces so works unbelievably well for families. And the owners were above and beyond helpful. Even helped us find a charger for an OLD laptop..which was essential for a business deal. Did that on a Friday night! As for the house, they provided absolutely everything a family could need. We were stunned! The kitchen was as well appointed as any kitchen I have ever been in...and Ive been in a tin of great kitchens. Lest I forget, we forgot a critically important stuffed Bunny that my granddaughter was devastated over. But guess what? The owners scoured the house, found it and make an amazingly quick return so our granchildren could sleep once again.Serioulsy rent this house!

This property was perfect for the whole family! All ages 2-68! The water is awesome and depth was a peace of mind while watching the three little ones play on the dock and dip in and out of the water. My oldest boy caught several bass all over the lake and saw a variety of fish in the water during our stay. There wasn’t a table we didn’t use… We were ALL able to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner together; be it eating downstairs, upstairs, out on the deck, or down by the water! This place was worth every penny! The owners were so easy to communicate with! We will be back and next time for longer!

Family Weekend

Our family, 10 of us ranging in age from 2 to 71, had a wonderful time at Lake shore cottage! It is a beautiful home, with a lot of room to spread out. Having two large tables, one off the kitchen and one on the lower level, was great for us. We used one for meals and one for a craft table. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could need for cooking for a large group. The extra stove and fridge in the lower level came in handy too. The highlight for the kids was the playground equipment and the pontoon. It was wonderful to have the boat included! Wonderful memories!

Great amenities, good communication

Loved all the amenities for kids. Toys, plastic plates, utensils and cups, etc. The playground there was great. The hosts were pretty quick to respond if we needed anything. A couple minor safety things: none of the plates were actually microwave safe which was pretty frustrating when we were doing leftovers and the lawn person came to mow the lawn during nap time without any notice. Totally get mowing, but some heads up would've been helpful as our kids were playing outside and the person mowing came very close to them.

Well equipped and comfortable

We really enjoyed our stay at this lake home. The home had so much more than we were expecting like a kitchen with just about any gadget you could need and toys/games for the kids. We loved having the pontoon for taking boat rides and the water in front of the cabin was shallow for the kids to swim. While there is no sand for building sand castles at the property, the public beach is a few minutes away. The home is located just minutes from the heart of Alexandria, so is close to shopping and activities. We liked having 2 living rooms so there was plenty of space to spread out and we cherished our dinners on the covered porch overlooking the lake. The owners/staff were very pleasant to work with and responsive.

Wonderful family MN summer getaway

Our family rented this home for a summer lake gathering. We had 8 adults & 7 young children. It accommodated all of us comfortably. The play set, beautiful yard, ping-pong table and swimming off the dock kept the kids busy outside most of the day. The outdoor spaces (covered deck, patio, bonfire patio) allowed for great places to gather in all weather conditions. The lot was private and the minimal interaction we had with neighbors was friendly. The lake was very clean & clear. The pontoon was a great addition to the weekend. I can’t say enough about how well organized the hosts were. Great communication. Very prompt in responding ahead of our stay and upon arrival. I would highly recommend this location and we would visit again!

Beautiful cozy respite

This place is perfectly situated on the lake with just enough privacy and beautiful views. Far more spacious and nicer than even in the pictures. Perfect for a cozy intimate gathering with lots of space to spread out inside and outside. Owners were responsive and helpful although we didn't need them for much since everything we needed was there. Would definitely book again!

Girlfriend get away

We are a group of six professional women from around the country that gather yearly to relax, catch up and support each other, cook together, ( enjoy adult beverages). We were looking for six bedrooms, property on the water, spacious and well equipped kitchen and within 3 hours of the airport. This property checked off the boxes. We love to cook together and filled coolers before arriving . We never got into our vehicles in our Wed to Sunday trip. The pontoon was a bonus, and we enjoyed leisurely trips around the lake, wind permitting . The weather was warm enough for a few of us to hop in for a swim. We enjoyed the covered porch and having a fire as well. The property owners were quickly responsive. Things other renters might want to know which may or may not be important to you : the property is very close to I 94 and within ear shot of traffic. Some of the beds were less comfortable than others, impacting light sleepers which we admittedly are . All in all we had an amazing time and are considering this property or another by these owners next year .

Grape Stomp Retreat

We had the pleasure of renting this property over this past weekend during the Carlos Creek Grape Stomp. It was absolutely nothing less than fantastic! The accommodations were spot on with the pictures and in my opinion were even better in person. The owners were absolutely fantastic with regards to communication and seemed genuinely happy to have us in their home. We plan to return soon to enjoy this incredible space!

The joy we get when we hear children laughing and playing lifts our spirits and is a reminder of our own grandchildren. It makes our work worthwhile.

Why they chose this property

Graystone Lodge is perfect for groups wanting to spend time together both inside and outside. We love the outside of this house because the yard is the perfect size for tossing a football or playing a bean bag toss game. It is also set up in a way that makes it easy to watch and play with kids on the Rainbow play system or have fun swimming in the lake. There are so many places to be outside and watch the changing weather and sunrises and sunsets. The inside has so much room to come together to eat, play games and share a good time. There is also great space to take in a can't miss game on TV. We are excited to share our home with guests.
