About this property

Superb loft in artistic district, AC, sleeps 5

Our place is in a elegant town house in the city center and in the heart of Kazimierz district which is now known for its abundant offering of quality restaurants and bars. Previously it used to be a Jewish district, it has a rich history and many monuments. Our apartment has a lot of sunshine and light, and on the walls I have paintings I have painted myself (Dobra). You will also find all amenities needed for a short or long stay. We look forward to welcoming you :) Dobra and Anita

Great apartment in the heart of the Jewish Quarter (Kazimierz)

We really loved staying here in this apartment. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay that felt like being at home. It is nicely decorated, clean, and much more cozy and homey than staying in a hotel. While the bed was small for us (we are used to sleeping on an American king sized bed, and this bed is sized between an American double and queen), it was comfortable and cozy in a separate room from the living room. We were there during a heat wave in Europe, and so we were so thankful to have the very-effective air conditioning unit in the living room, which did cool the entire apartment. Dobra, the host, bought us a coffee maker, coffee filters, and coffee specially for us. The kitchen was good for cooking breakfast, which we did each morning. The location of the apartment is 2 short blocks from Ulitza Szeroka, the main square of the Jewish Quarter where there are synagogues (one of them active) and an old Jewish cemetery. Nearby are many good restaurants and cafes, and literally across the street is Express, a 24-hour grocery (like a NYC bodega)--we found this to be so convenient. There is a washing machine, which we used multiple times, a large drying rack, and a heated towel rack. It was great to not have to haul one's laundry to a laundromat. Something to consider, depending on your fitness level, is the fact that the apartment is on the top floor of a 5-story walk-up. 96 steps. I counted. At first it was hard, but you definitely get used to it. Restaurant recommendations: Pierozki u Vincenta, and Kuchnia u Doroty were our favorites. The former for pierogi of all kinds, and the latter for potato pancakes. Powakowlski (very close by, very inexpensive) has great pickle soup, pierogi, and beef with horseradish sauce. Also liked the very close by Kuchnia Domowa (Home Kitchen)--cash only. Overall, we had a great time, and if we come to Krakow again, we'll plan to stay here.
