Looking for a secluded getaway? Gowan Ross Cottage offers a serene escape in the charming Blue Mountains village of Mt Wilson. It features weatherboard construction and original timber flooring with both open and slow combustion fireplaces. It is surrounded by both rainforest and garden with large established oak and plane trees. The seclusion will help you unwind from the daily stresses or relax after a day exploring the mountains, canyons and garden.

Gowan Ross Cottage is situated on the rural property known as Gowan Ross, which is halfway between Mt Wilson and Mt Irvine. It is one of Mt Wilson's few remaining working properties and is home to the only permanent residents with young children in Mt Wilson. It has a number of fruiting chestnut and walnut trees as well as raspberry and blueberry bushes. Is boasts 40acres of combined rainforest, garden and pasture and is home to a small number of Devon cattle. There are a number of hiking tracks close by with spectacular views over the Wollangambe river.

* Please note that only registered guest numbers are allowed at the property. Sorry NO Pets allowed.

Beautiful quiet stay

Set on the eastern the side of the Mount Wilson – Mount Irvine range, this stay was beautiful and quiet, surrounded by a lovely garden and trees.The house is well equipped, warm and inviting.

We enjoyed our stay here - plenty of space, beautiful garden, clean and comfortable home. Note, the street is not labelled on google maps so be extra sure of where you're going before you set out if using google.

Great cottage

Cottage is beautifully presented, with all the items you would need for the weekend or short stay. Plenty of space for all the family. Suggest to have a sign where the driveway splits at the tree as we arrived late and was uncertain as you can't see the house from the driveway

Stay at Gowan Ross

Hi, my friends and I would like to say that we did enjoy staying at the Gowan Ross property and loved the cozy feel of the property and definitely had a relaxing stay. You guys nailed the getaway christmassy feel! However, it was disappointing that an important sign directing to the cottage was not in place or mentioned in the welcome pack that it was blown away. We were only told this had been blown away in our call, as we were really lost in the pitch black darkness and were relying on the faint signal from standing at the main cottage to have our call go through. I would also notify future guests that even though there is an emergency phone number there is basically no reception in the area so calls won't go through at all. Thank you,Merry Christmas!

Hi Sophia, yes we must apologies about the pointer sign, the resident wombat likes to rub up against it and has knocked it over.! Fortunately we give detailed directions in the text message that goes out to all guests 48 hrs prior to arrival and we ask that you read those so you have no issues, this info has images etc and we have never had an issue before with someone arriving. Sorry you had an issue. It is truly a lovely home on the mountains and the perfect place to relax ! Best regards the Booking Team - iRIS PROPERTY
