Relax and unwind at Shelby’s Lodge, a spacious and family-friendly holiday home in the heart of Venus Bay. Tucked away on a quiet crescent, this easygoing coastal retreat is perfect for families, groups, and pet lovers looking to enjoy a relaxed seaside break.

The Space

Shelby’s Lodge sleeps up to 10 guests across 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, including a master bedroom with a Queen bed and private ensuite.

The open-plan living area is bright and inviting — a great spot to enjoy a movie on the TV, curl up by the indoor fireplace, or gather for meals at the family table.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook your favourite dishes, including a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, and all cookware, dishes, and silverware.

Step outside to the patio and BBQ area, where you can relax with a meal or enjoy the garden and backyard space — perfect for pets and kids to play.

Long weekend away

Although the house was good and reasonably equipped the outdoor furniture was poorly maintained and some of the benches were unsafe to sit on. The garden area was fenced but not pleasant. Inside, the ceiling fan in one bedroom could not be used for safety reasons and the stove top did not work well.

Comfortable Beach House for Family Holiday

We had 10 people stay at the house quite comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped, board games for kids, main living area was great for the number of people we had. The house is about 1 km from the beach, so if you have young kids you still need to drive. We were lucky enough to have hot weather, however the end 2 bedrooms didn’t cool very well with the air conditioning in the living room, although they did have fans. One bedroom had a portable air conditioner. Our only other comment would be that the house just needs a good spring clean.

Comfortable and suitable for our needs

House was suitable to our needs with a good layout. Easy to walk to the inlet regularly. House obviously not used for a while and needed a bit of fresh air through. Minor plumbing issue reported but remained unrepaired at the time of vacating. Likely difficult to get plumber in that area.

Lovely & enjoyable

The house is cosy and very spacious. Half of our group stayed at Meeniyan motel, occupying 4 rooms there; but we mainly had meals and activities at the beach or at this house; it can accommodate 20 people comfortably. We’ve had so much fun singing karaokes and playing board games there. The price is reasonable and the agents are very helpful, answering my many questions in details (as it’s the first time we’ve rent an entire house for holiday). The kitchen looks like just got renovated, very new, and having lots of pots, cutlery and cooking utensils, so convenient! The fridge is so big and there are even the washing machine and clothes dryer there too. Everything was beyond our expectations. We would love to come back. There was only one problem with the house - the mosquitoes! Therefore Mosquito-cream or insect-repellers is a must to bring next time!

Good value for money

A spacious house in the second estate of Venus bay. Overall it is in good shape. However, bed frames can use an update. Overall, it's a clean well served unit that leaves you to enjoy the area without much of care. We loved our stay and would come back

Amazing beach, house needs a touch-up

Amazing Location,beach is incredibly beautiful. The town is lovely too, with a general store that has an amazing array of products. The house is nice but is let down a little by not being perfectly clean and an absolutely terrible bed in main bedroom that was awful to sleep on. Overall value was good though so if you don't have a huge budget it is not a bad option.
