The house is amazing. We loved our stay here and the view. The location was perfect for my family! Loved being close to town and Cherokee. Thank you for sharing your home!
The views were our favorite part. Gorgeous views from huge sliding glass doors and windows. The house was immaculate except for the master bathroom shower and the spare bedroom carpet. We loved the drive up the mountain to access the house (just not at night!) The furniture was modern and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we cooked the whole time we were there. We used the front porch and the deck every day, drinking hot chocolate or eating hot soups. The master bedroom was lacking a closet, but all in all, the whole experience was wonderful, from check in, to the day we left. Evolve made it simple to check in and I communicated with their host several times before our trip. We would DEFINITELY stay here again!
This was perfect for our family of 6 with 4 boys. They loved the foosball table and the trundle bed. Plenty of room and access to numerous places to see.
Beautiful home with amazing views of the mountains from living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom. Wonderful deck for evening sunset and early morning coffee. Nicely furnished and conveniently located to other locations.
Other than the very narrow mountain road to get to the cabin, it was magnificent! perfect mountain home with beautiful sunrise views- complete with toys for the kids!
We had a great time! The house was so clean and check-in was so easy. The view is stunning! We will come back to stay again!

Beautiful House
This house was magical! The morning view was spectacular and I will never forget it. The house itself was very clean upon arrival and had everything we needed for a week. The master bedroom was spacious and our kids enjoyed the bunk beds in the smaller bedroom. The living room had plenty of seating and was cozy with a fireplace.
The drive up to the house is not bad at all! I have been on some scary roads in that area and this one was steep but paved and not busy.
The house was AMAZING! I expected a great view from the pictures but the pictures don’t do it justice! The house was clean, ready on time and had everything we needed for several meals prepared at the house. The loft was perfect for tweens that need some privacy but open enough to stay connected to family time. The house was big enough for my parents, my husband and I and our two tweens. We hoped for a walking path to the water but the view was enough of a trade off. I would recommend this house! The drive up is narrow but wasn’t an issue in a full size truck.
We enjoyed the view across the valley and river as the sun rose, the clouds that gave the Smokies their name settled in the valley. One morning they rolled right up the hills and embraced us for a while. We watched the sunsets from the front porch swing while the clouds and sun played tag. The drive up and down was enjoyable, letting us know that we were no longer in the flat lands. The home was fully outfitted, clean, prepared…. Everything that we needed as a base. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
The house was spotless, beautiful and easy to get to. We loved the quiet and the views, and the comfortable furnishings. We appreciated all the condiments, spices and coffee supplies available, although we didn’t use them. I will add the only downside is the water closet for the master is tiny. The commodes seemed unusually short and not built for tall people, and both my husband and myself are above average height. I think taking that door off the water closet would give so much more room and keep hips and shoulders from bumping the door handle. Other than that it was perfect.
The house was amazing, so were the views, the reason I gave it only 3 stars was because while the rental agency was great to work with, the owner of the property made the stay very uncomfortable with all the little post-it notes she had hanging everywhere! “Don’t do this, don’t touch that, don’t move this, don’t adjust this, don’t open this door” etc..... also, while the instructions I received from the rental agency said one thing, the printed instructions the owner had said something different, as well as a request to NOT contact the rental agency contact unless of an emergency, however when I booked the property the rental agency was the only entity I was in contact with the entire time. In my opinion if someone is going to be THAT particular about renting out a property, they probably should not rent it out.
Otherwise the property was very nice, fully stocked kitchen and great views.

Great House but Wildfire Interrupted Trip; Road Issues
The house is beautiful — well-stocked, clean, great view as others have said. We won't ever go back because of some major issues due to a wildfire:
1. There is only one narrow neighborhood road to get to the house. The road is steep and often hugs ravine curves (beware anyone who gets carsick!). So, if something happens (tree limb, accident, fire), getting in or out can be delayed—or you can get stuck.
2. The house is not set up for a power outage. There was a very close wildfire during our stay that cut power & water (electric pump) to the house. There's no generator or water on site, and even though the local contact offered to bring some flashlights, local emergency crews were not letting people in—and that's not the vacation we'd paid for. (We had 2 elderly folks and 2 young children with us. If we wanted to rough it, we would have happily gone camping for hundreds less.)
3. The rental agency refused any refund for the night we had to evacuate—full or partial. The agreement had a natural disaster clause, which is standard at a lot of places so just be aware of this as a possibility. Stuff happens!
Honestly the best part of our trip was the whole fam bonding over checking into a hotel with just the clothes on our backs. Thankfully, the fire crew said no one was hurt & they got it out in 1 night. So a good story to tell. But this won't be one we ever go back to. Next time, we'll be camping in the state park!
PS: Not the best place for young kids if you want a yard!

Hi K, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- The road leading to the property is narrow but wide enough to accommodate emergency vehicles and semis carrying building materials. This is typical in the Appalachian Mountains, where winding narrow roads are common for accessing homes. To help guests plan their route accordingly, we provide a map on the listing showing the approximate location. This allows guests to research routes and determine if the roads leading to the property meet their needs.- The electricity went out due to fallen trees and electric poles. Duke Energy was able to restore power by the next morning. Although we don't have a whole-house generator, we do offer LED lanterns and flashlights in case of an outage.- Regarding the fire, it was a controlled brush fire set by the local fire department, which unfortunately got a little out of control due to the wind carrying embers across the road. Our guest contact offered to take you around the other side of the mountain to gain access to the property since there wouldn't be GPS or cell service. However, you declined and opted to return to town, intending to try again later. Subsequently, you contacted the guest contact, asking if there was a smoke smell. They advised that while it was possible to smell smoke, the wind had changed direction, so it might not be persistent. At this point, you chose to secure a hotel room for the night.- Regarding your request for a refund through Evolve, they reiterated the unforeseen circumstances/force majeure policy outlined in the rental agreement. Unfortunately, this situation was beyond our control, and we made every effort to accommodate your group to ensure the most pleasant guest experience possible.- The photos on the listing showcase the backyard, including an aerial photo displaying the entire property, providing guests with a clear understanding of what to expect and the size of the yard. We've previously set up a badminton net and held games so the yard is spacious enough for family fun. We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking to ensure they find a property that best suits their preferences. We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays.

Wonderful, but remote
This property is located high-up a mountain with spectacular views from hits two story windows in the common area or master bedroom, but it is very difficult to get up to it. The access road is gated, but only provides a single lane to travel with the edge of the mountain barely off the single lane road. This creates huge problems when one car wants to go up to their house and another wants to come down. With over a dozen homes off the access road during peak seasons I would imagine it is very difficult getting up and down the road without issues.
The home was very difficult to keep warm as the bedrooms are down a narrow hallway and the master had huge windows which were great for a view, but they are clearly much older and leaked a ton of cold air into the room. When we ran the fireplace in the common area it would heat the room into the low 70's, but that drove the bedrooms to be near freezing it seemed as the thermostat is in the common area didn't run for hours. I would recommend upgrading to a Nest system where you could add multiple sensors to your thermostat or setting up the bedrooms as a separate zone.
Also, I tried to reach out to the management company about the trash center being closed on Sunday prior to check out. You have to be out by 10:00 am, but the trash center doesn't open until 1:00 pm. I did not know what to do with the trash so we ended up going Saturday morning to the trash center and then taking the trash bags from Saturday and Sunday morning with us until we stopped for gas on our way home. If you are going to allow guests to check out Sunday there should be plan for this, but even if there isn't there is no excuse for the property management company never calling us back. What if power had gone out? There was no hot water? The key box wouldn't open? We would be totally out of luck with no one answering the phone or calling back.
Overall, the property was well furnished, had everything we could need, and was very comfortable. It was worth staying at once, but next time we'll pay the premium prices to stay in town.
Property location was more than what we paid for, people were priceless.
Other than both toilet sizes were for children and need to be replaced for taller ones, the property location and contents were to our liking.

Comfortable stay
The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The pictures online are a good representation of the property, with the exception there is a house to the left (looking at the house) so you have to keep the blinds closed in the master bedroom.
The water pressure was great in the master shower as well as comfortable bed.
There really was a little bit of everything you need for the kitchen.
The views were really amazing and it was nice to watch through the windows and see them from the bedroom, kitchen or even living room.
WiFi could be a little quicker later in the evening, the football game and movies would buffer while watching.
The drive up to the house is paved so not bad during non winter conditions.
Loved loved being able to watch the sunrise/views in the morning. You can not see the sunsets with where the house is setting.
We would definitely rebook and stay here again if we stay in NC. It was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay!
