Nice place. Host needs to improve things.

I wondered why there were no reviews for this property and aftercstaying there, think that either we were the first guests or no prior guests wanted to leave a poor review. First off, the property is located in the Krystal Beach Hotel even though not in the description. This means you will be staying in a very nice hotel that has a generator. In a country with constant load shedding, this is a fantastic luxury. The owner is a very nice lady who I think doesn’t understand the concept of these forms of rentals. There wasn’t a coffee maker as described but fortunately we had brought our own French Press, the TV upstairs didn’t work and no instructions were left for how to log on to wifi, operate cable TV or any of the other things we usually see in a house “manual” at other rentals. There were a significant amount of personal items in the unit. Family photos, religious items and even a pamphlet for a celebration of life for her recently deceased husband. The latter is sort of a bummer for people on holiday. The very small bar refrigerator is old and has the circulation fan assembly hanging down from what must have been an attempt at repair. It needs to be replaced and/or a proper fridge installed. Inside were a take away box with food, open milk and condiment containers. On the table were three orphaned coffee packets and an open bag of rusks. The stove had two pans on top, one with oil like someone had popped corn in it. There were food caked dishes in the cupboard. No kitchen rubbish bin. The stairs appear very steep and are a bit tricky. Upstairs many of her clothes were left in a closet, a mobile phone and a half jug of water. Toiletries were almost non existent. She left a new body scrubber and a bar of soap but on the vanity were a few half used hotel style tubes of hand lotion. Just too little for a guest and too much personal items left in the unit. We felt like someone kicked granny out of her apartment just so we could stay there. Not a pleasant thought. Again, a great location, constant electrical power and fantastic views. Just a very poorly equipped and supplied rental. There are many rentals at Gordon’s Bay at Harbour Island for significantly less than we paid for this unit. Lastly, the communication was inadequate compared to every other unit we have rented online. The owner was very kind and courteous so it is hard to leave this review, however I feel this candor is necessary for prospective renters.
