Simple clean house built on the dock - If you are looking for an adventure and the most amazing views as you sleep, eat, and relax, this is the place for you!. Shower on the dock, swim around your house and climb the ladder and relax on your lounge chair or hammock. Our stay at the Dock House was definitely more GLAMPing than camping. We had a great breeze which allowed for us to sleep with the windows open and no mosquito net needed. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have experienced in Belize. (We have been traveling to Belize for years and typically stay in places under $200/night). We had breakfast both mornings and really enjoyed it! Very peaceful 2 days up north. 10/10 recommend!

Natural luxury

Waking up to the most beautiful sunrise out your bed window was amazing. The hosts made you feel like part of the family and did more than was asked. If you are looking for nature and being taken care of, this is the place for you.

This family is the sweetest family on the entire island. "Chat n Chill" has its name for a reason. Be sure to pet the family doggo!! Shes a cutie. Camping over the water was such a unique experience which takes an adjustment period. The only concern is the road getting there..... its a dirt road thats extremely bumpy for a solid 50 minutes. If you want the liveliness of the Town of San Pedro then this is not the place for you. If you want tranquillity, peace and quiet, and to just be able to "chill" then stay here!! Grab a cocktail, enjoy some nachos and drink out of a coconut while relaxing on the dock :) I'll def be back, especially now that I know more of what to expect from the island itself.

Beautiful Beach House on the Water!

My husband and I felt so relaxed staying in this charming beach house at the end of the dock, right on the water. The sunrise and sunsets were amazing! We fished from the dock and were close to areas for snorkeling. Daniel made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We hope to return!

This is our favorite spot on the entire island of Ambergris Caye. Henry and Daniel are the most amazing hosts ever. It truly is paradise. We will be back.

Amazing place with more than amazing staff

We stayed 7 days at this small cottage on the dock and we absolutely LOVED our journey. I have to say that Daniel (one of the worker) is the highlight of our stay and the whole place wouldn't be the same without him He is always greeting us no matter what time of the day, making sure we have everything we need, smiling all the time, and always available for us. He made us feel like very special Also, thank you to the owner for letting us use the pool since the beach was full of seaweeds Thank you to Isis who's cooking is delicious I highly recommand this little paradise on earth We went there for a honeymoon and would do it again !

Incredible

There aren’t even words for this spectacular place! My husband and I stayed here for a week and it did not disappoint! We were the only guests at the time. Everything about the dock house was incredible! The fresh breeze, the waves, the sunrises and the fish were all amazing! The property felt private and our hosts were very accommodating! The food at the Chat n Chill was delicious and they helped us organize some snorkelling tours with Coral Divers, they even got my husband some coconuts and had a huge water dispenser in the cabin for us. The drive to town was an adventure we enjoyed as was the road North to Tranquility bay! We loved it here and would come back in a heartbeat! Thank you, for sharing this slice of paradise with us!

Incredible Spot!

This place is amazing! We stayed in the cabin at the end of the dock. The place was very clean and in the most beautiful quiet setting. For most of our trip, we were the only couple here. We found the more off the beaten (bumpy!) path location to be exactly what we wanted for some rest and relaxation, yet perfectly located for the guided fishing and snorkel tours we booked. We fished off the dock with great success as well. The real hi light of this place is Daniel, Isis, and Henry who manage the property, cook at the Chat and Chill, and are wonderful advisors for activities or tips regarding your stay. Daniel is wonderful and made great recommendations for a snorkel guide. Isis is an incredible cook and made us delicious and simple meals when we asked. We did get a Conch while snorkeling and Isis made us ceviche with our score, yum! The care the staff take in maintaining this place is obvious and it is very well maintained. Do note that the owners/host are off site. The communication was slow when there were questions or inquiries. But the on-site staff really is who will help you if you have any needs anyway. It wasn’t a problem for us. We will be back next year. This place is a COMPLETE GEM.

3rd Time, Still A Charm!

This was our 3rd time staying in the Dock House at the Chat and Chill. What can I say? It’s been so lovely we have come 3 times, 3 years in a row. We love the low key, no frills, all fun that this place is. Daniel and his family keep this place so well kept and wonderful. They are incredible hosts who are so attentive and kind. Isis’ cooking is simple and wonderful: she home makes her tortillas! Highly recommend her breakfasts too. Daniel has some great tips for places to eat, see, and discover! We had the best private snorkel trip experience with one of Henry’s friends he recommended who took us to Hol Chan and several other dive spots! If you want a cool and quiet experience, with nice people and good vibes this place is for you. It is close-ish to camping with shared bathroom on the beach (very clean!), and a refreshing outdoor shower, so do note the listing description. If you want a bumpin’ party spring break vibe this is NOT the place for you. Stay closer to town! Safe to say we love this place and hope to return for a 4th visit!Up North Tips: In D Wild is a close restaurant serving great local food specials cooked by locals (ask for the Creole Shrimp), we loved going here for food and drinks. Daniel is friends with the owner! Up North is a new spot to eat, drink, and play games like golf, axe throwing etc.Take a trek to Tranquility Bay resort, way up north! You won’t regret the views and bring snorkel gear! Road is rough but worth it!

Awful. Waste Of My Time & Money

I stay at properties with many remote owners/hosts around 3-4 months of the year in the Caribbean and Latin America. I understand that local labor is relied upon to manage things and how sargasso/sargassum is a massive issue beyond a host’s control. But communication is totally within the host’s realm. 1. There’s major construction going on in the area. Unless you naturally get up at 4:30-5am every day this is not going to be a relaxing stay with trucks continuously hauling stuff at least from 5am-10am (I wasn’t there later than that) during the day. Host neglected to give me any heads-up this was happening. 2. The beach/water was unusable due to sargasso/sargassum sea weed decomposing on the sand and in the water. The water was literally as dark as a mangrove swamp. There was zero point reserving this location 45 mins north of San Pedro with a beach when there were a plethora of closer/cheaper listings available sans beach. But like the noise, of course the host neglected to give me any indication I couldn’t use a major feature of his property. 3. The cleaning fee for two nights was very high, almost the same cost as a nights’ stay but the beach toilet trash bin was full when I got there on Monday 4pm and still full Wednesday when I left at 9:30am. *shrug* 4. Zero host communication from check-in to check-out, even when I messaged the fridge outlet was broken and water leaked all over the wood and rug. Host clearly not interested in anything than being paid.

Paradise perfection

I don’t even know where to begin with how wonderful our stay was in this dreamy little Cabana on the dock. We loved every minute of our time there relaxing and getting to know Daniel. Our our disappointment was that we didn’t book a longer stay! We loved fishing from the dock, jumping in the water, just relaxing and making new friends. We’ve been home in Alaska for 3 days now and we’re already planning next year’s trip. If you’re looking for a place to completely unplug and unwind, this is your spot! We cannot thank Max, Daniel, Isis and Henry enough for making our time away from home the perfect vacation.

Secluded getaway

This place was awesome! We stayed here for our honeymoon and we could not have been more pleased with everything. The Chat N Chill was only open for lunch, but they made sure that their guests were well fed when they needed a meal. Isis is a great cook and introduced us to one of our new favorite foods, fry jacks! Daniel really made our stay extra special. He helped us with casting our net to catch sardines for fishing bait and showed us awesome tricks like how to choose the right coconut to drink from and how to open them up. What a G! Overall, our hosts made us feel super comfortable. Not only that, but the location was absolutely key. San Pedro is a little busier than we normally prefer, but it really felt like we were on our own island if we wanted to be. We chose this stay because we love to fish, and nothing could quite beat fishing right outside your bedroom every evening. 10/10. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat!

Amazing getaway to relax and enjou

We LOVED our stay! We had the place to ourselves. Henry and Isis made us feel so at home and their service was impeccable. The food Isis made was so good and clearly made with pride and love for what they do! I would highly recommend for anyone not want to be in the hustle and bustle of San Pedro but want to enjoy the island.

Best birthday ever!

We stayed in the Dock House, 150 steps way out on the end of the pier. It was romantic and very private with gentle sea breezes and the mesmerizing sound of waves. The staff on shore was there for our every need. We particularly liked the ceviche and the morning omlettes. It was away from town and really had the feel of being a bit rustic with elegance on a private island. We would go there again in a heart beat!

It was the perfect location for us since we wanted to fish and snorkel yon our own. We were able to both with a short drive north. Henry, Isis and Ms Julia were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We miss them and Belize already!

WOW!

It was better than advertised! Located 10 miles north of town center, it was like we were on our own little island. Very peaceful and relaxing. Falling asleep and waking to the sound of waves underneath us was incredible. The staff were great, food was amazing and the drinks were cold. We plan on coming back.

Great quiet escape!

Tamara and Jeff were great! I loved the property. Unfortunately the weather was not wonderful but that’s just part of the adventure. We would definitely come back again. On a side note, someone wrote in the guest book to visit Iz at El Norte for excursions. I highly recommended you do not. Although Iz came across very friendly, he hit on my girlfriend so much it made her extremely uncomfortable and his excursions we felt taken advantage of. Just be careful!

Wonderful break from the every day hum drum of life

My husband surprised me for my 40th birthday for a 3 night 4 day stay at this location. It was wonderful to be out on the water and enjoy the views and the sights and the smells and just take in a breath of fresh air! The staff was more than pleasant and helpful in every way and very loving It was like having a family there with us and a home away from home! We look forward to returning to this beautiful piece of the world!

Wonderful Hosts and Peaceful Cabin

This property is the perfect place for those looking to get away and relax! There are many great activities to do in the neighboring town of San Pedro and the staff as well as the hosts go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience possible! Warning: If you are expecting to be in and out of town frequently this might not be the place for you as a taxi can cost $50 one way and a golf cart ride is 30-45 minutes. however if you are fine being out of town (which in my opinion doesn't have much to offer besides daily activities) then this is the perfect place for you!

Relaxing and quiet experience over the water!

Wow...this property surpassed our expectations. Turns out you do not need to go to Bali to stay over the ocean! We knew going into this that there was no plumbing in the unit so we prepared ourselves for roughing it a little bit, but that was not accurate. The unit had everything that we needed to enjoy our stay. The outdoor shower was AMAZING!!! Listening to the waves at night was very calming. Watching the fish in the lights off the dock at night was the cherry on top. The staff was great and super accommodating. They were available as much as you wanted them to be. I would highly recommend this place for a unforgettable experience.

Amazing bungalow over the water

The Dockhouse is EXACTLY like it is described in the listing. The pictures don't do it justice. Like staying on a boat but no rocking about. The sound of the water below and the ever changing views from all the windows. AMAZING. So quite in August . Very private. Henry and Isis are around sometimes Isis cooked for us Henry dealt with our luggage and helped us with securing luggage on golf cart. Sweet couple. They take care of the property very well. We stayed 3 nights - 4 days. Most relaxing, peaceful time. Left there to stay in San Pedro for a week. Wished we had stayed longer at Dockhouse. It was hard to leave. It is quite a long bumpy ride from town, but well worth it to be out of the hubbub of San Pedro for a while. Can't wait to go back. Thanks Jeff for sharing your amazing property.

Private Getaway

The property was very well kept and beautiful location. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It is a little ways from town, if you wanted to go there daily but the seclusion and peaceful setting was a huge reason we chose this place. The dock house was very cute and such a cool experience to sleep over the water listening to the waves and feeling the cool breeze. You'll have to make sure to look out the window at night to watch the Tarpon swimming around which was really cool. My only tip is to ensure you're packing cash as the restaurant on the grounds is cash only. But a super cool experience and great place to stay.

Property was originally Son & Sea Camp, a Christian Summer Camp for the Children of Belize. The property now consists of a Casita on the beach and two houses on the dock as well as Chat~n~Chill restaurant featuring great food and drinks right on the beach of the Caribbean Sea

Why they chose this property

We love being away from the traffic and congestion of San Pedro. Ten miles north of town, easily accessible with rental golf cart or water taxi. Far enough away to have peace and quiet, but close enough to drive in to town for shopping or a meal

What makes this property unique

You are literally sleeping over the water. The house is constructed on the dock. The most amazing views in all of Belize. The peace and quiet of camping.
