Homewood Cottage, Talbingo

Homewood Cottage is now available for holiday stays. The cottage is in a great location within walking distance to the local shop and an easy 2 min stroll to Talbingo Country Club and nine hole golf course. A childrens playground is also located across the road. The cottage is suitable for both families or couples - whether you are looking to water or snow ski or just enjoy the peace & quiet and take in the beautiful surroundings. Sit out on the large wrap around deck and enjoy the view. Bedrooms 1 & 2 both have a queen bed, while bedroom 3 has two sets of bunks. Kitchen has an upright stove, fridge & microwave, together with a slow cooker and sandwich press. Bathroom is older style with a shower over large bath. For convenience, a second toilet is located next to the laundry which has a front loader washing machine and dryer. A second lounge/TV room is located off the kids bunk room complete with TV & DVD player.

Steve & Lisa are great hosts and everything listed in advertisements were there. This is a great location and big deck to soak in stunning views. Would definitely recommend staying here and will be back for sure

A terrific place for a break - super clean, serene and great views. Close access to snowfields at Kiandra and Yarrangobilly- must see. Will definitely be back.

Very enjoyable

The house is very clean and cosy, it had all the cooking utensils we needed to prepare the meals. It was very cold outside, but the heaters worked fine in the house, so we were comfortable. There is a fire pit surrounded by garden chairs in the backyard, and we enjoyed sitting by the fire at night. The area is lovely and very quiet and peacefull.

Disappointed!

Upon arrival, I was met by a letter box askew upon the front fence, a backyard which needs mowing, an overgrown firepit full of ash and unburnt remnants of wood and charcoal plus a variety of large items of junk scattered around. Indoors, it is obvious that some renovating has been done to a somewhat-acceptable standard. However, with the shower over a very high-sided, narrow bath with rounded base to balance upon and the ‘all-around shower-curtain with tap handles poking through it is extraordinary! Furthermore, climbing over the sides of the tub without even a grab-rail is hazardous. In short, such a ‘bathroom set-up’ and no ventilation would certainly fail an OH&S inspection. Similarly, the fact that some doors to the outside of the building are permanently locked and therefore unavailable in an evacuation emergency is an OH&S issue. Given its location, it is obvious that following a major tidy-up, once essential maintenance is undertaken, renovations are completed and with some attention to presentation, "Homewood Cottage" has the makings of an excellent holiday rental.

Best place to stay for two family with kids

Although its far from perisher valley there are also lots of places to explore. We had a great time and my kids were very happy

Best spot in Talbingo

We travel to talbingo often and this is the best location and house we have stayed at. The house is light fresh and airy with 2 living areas giving the adults some space. Close to park, shops and club. A great place to stay!

Beautiful spot, lovely house

The house is in a great spot, close to the lake and close to play fields and a playground. It has a lovely huge deck, and is warm and cosy. While an older style property, the interior is done really nicely and there is a handy breakout room for kids. It had everything we needed for a very short stay.

Great booking and check in process. Property could have been cleaner, but really it was ok. Some fly screens are broken, and some doors were difficult to open. Everything we needed was there, which is great. Suited us perfectly.

A very nice property...very comfortable and neat and tidy...nice kitchen and bbq area.

This property was very nice and comfortable to stay at, I would have liked a drying area for ski gear other then that very happy with the place.
