Charming, spacious, and inviting, Spruce House is a cozy, updated circa 1900s 1 ½ story home conveniently located just steps away from Middlebury’s quaint town center, the perfect base for exploring Northern Indiana’s bucolic Amish Country, the renown rails to trails Pumpkinvine Nature Trail, the Quilt Garden Tour, the Heritage Trail, shopping, arts, food, and fun. Newly restored with warmth and personality, Spruce House features the comfort of a relaxing, private home-away-from-home to enjoy with family and friends. Beautiful, convenient updates include a cheerful, fully equipped kitchen with all expected appliances, laundry room with washer/dryer and plenty of room for gear, three large bedrooms (including ground floor main bedroom with large walk-in closet/dressing room) to sleep six adults or family members (sorry, no pets) on comfy, new mattresses, large bathroom with walk-in shower, double sink, and miles of mirror. Dining room/library area seats six in comfort to enjoy a meal at home whether cooked in the adjacent kitchen or carried in from one of the many local eateries. Or go out on our friendly little town and experience the offerings of family-friendly eateries, local microbrew, coffee shops or fine dining restaurants only a block away. While you stroll Middlebury’s downtown, take in the unique locally-owned shops and business, or stop in at the Chamber of Commerce for more helpful information to explore the regions many attractions, parks, trails, antiques, arts and more.
College sports fans will appreciate the easy 40 mile drive to University of Notre Dame games in neighboring South Bend, In. Others who prefer the "sport" of shopping may choose the seven mile trip to seek the deals at the Shipshewana Flea Market, explore the wide variety of the 100 plus shops spread through out the charming town next door, attend an event at the Michiana Event Center (the MEC) or take in a live performance at the Blue Gate Theater.
Once back “home”, enjoy the privacy-fenced, jewel-box backyard complete with outdoor, covered dining area, gas grill, deck, fire-ring and lawn furniture. Enjoy a campfire with complementary fire wood or rock away your cares on the front porch swing in this friendly, quiet neighborhood.
