Special place
We had so much fun celebrating my daughter’s wedding here. The house is spacious, welcoming and cozy. We enjoyed playing records, Nintendo, making bouquets in the dining room, visiting and enjoying the patio and yard. The barn came in handy when it sparred to rain. Thanks so much for the hospitality!
Great, quiet location with beauty all around. Great Barn and lots to check out!

Beautifully Restored Property
We had a lovely stay at this gorgeous farm house. Hosts were very responsive and the house itself was very well stocked with all the necessary supplies. The bathrooms were stunning! I wish the weather would have been better to enjoy the outdoor spaces.
Stay at the Farmhouse with multiple couples, all family members, to attend a wedding. Plenty of room for everyone. The large deck in the backyard is a great place to socialize. Was a great stay.
The property is beautiful with a ton of historic charm. Lots of space for large groups to spread out and relatively close to a lot of major towns you would like to visit. A great jumping off point for day trips! Highly recommend to others. I’m sure we will be back to visit again in a few years.
Brought a group of friends here to help me celebrate a personal milestone. The property manager was super helpful and responsive. Everyone loved the house and had a great time. Couldn't ask for much more.
Hosted the whole family there - 6 adults, 3 little kids. Nice kitchen for cooking, nice baths. Nice, comfortable mix of old and new. Stairs to bedrooms are steep and without hand rail, so need to be careful and may not be suitable for kids and old folks.
Our stay was perfect. Great work space for baking & decorating Christmas cookies. Only problem was a decaying mouse somewhere in the kitchen. Also, I'm wondering why I was charged for 3 nights when we only stayed 2 nights?
Eight of is stayed at this property for a long bachelorette weekend, and it was lovely. Great location if you want a bit of the beach and the city, which are both about 30 min away. The house looks just like the listing but with a beautiful garden in the summertime. One day it was raining, so we stayed in and got cozy watching movies and playing games, which I thought the house was perfect for. I would definitely stay here again.

All about family
Such a historic home...my history! Found this home when I was home during the covid shut-down, while search my family's history. It became my dream to stay there with my cousins and show it to my Aunt who remembers staying there with her cousins. Very nice updated kitchen and bathrooms. Comfy beds too. And yet the home and barn retain their historic characteristics and architecture. I definitely enjoyed my stay.

We arrived to a beautiful, clean farmhouse. The pictures in the advertising doesn’t do it Justice. The house, outside area is absolutely beautiful. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. I can’t say one negative comment on the house or our stay. Our family was able to have everything we needed for our stay for our sons wedding.
This is a tired, old farm house that should have been torn down fifty years ago. The pictures and descriptions didn’t come close to accurately describing this place. We paid for three nights but went to a hotel after one night. If we had more time we wouldn’t have stayed even one night.

Hi Gary, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following: - We strive to provide our guests with a great guest experience, so we were both surprised and disappointed to hear your feedback and want to take a moment to address your concerns. - We were unaware of any issues or concerns during your stay and wish you had reached out. We take our listing accuracy seriously and use professional photographers so we can be sure that our images accurately reflect our property, and guests can decide before booking if the home, decor, and furnishings meet their expectations. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
We were impressed with our stay. The house was clean and so functional for our large group. The bathrooms were big, the kitchen was great to prepare a meal in. We enjoyed sitting outside on the deck and walking around the property, having a bonfire in the evening. It’s a beautiful setting, relaxing. We enjoyed coffee on the deck listening to the birds. The windows in kitchen allow for more bird watching. The only thing I would mention is to put different pictures on the site, the pictures they post does not do the house justice. It’s a beautiful house with a lot of character and updates. The landscaping and flowers are amazing around the property. We plan on staying again.

A perfect West Michigan getaway
We loved our stay at the Fox Briar over the 4th of July holiday! There are a variety of different spaces to hang out. The huge porch deck and gas grill was perfect for cooking dinner and relaxing after the beach, and it was great retiring to the large dining room for late night card games while spinning records. The space and decor are well thought out and created a really comfortable space. Some of the bedrooms are tight, but it didn't bother us since we didn't spend much time there. We really loved the huge upstairs bathroom and neat shower. We didn't make use of the barn but it was worth taking a look around and admiring the architectural features. There's a large grassy area for a bonfire as well. The house itself was very clean and well kept. The host was responsive to any inquiries before and during the stay, which was much appreciated. Overall a great property and we'd love to book again!
We were a group of 7 that were here for a bachelorette party. This house was perfect for us. Everyone was blown away with how wonderful the house was. Everything was just as described and we had so much fun here. We went back and forth over the weekend to Grand Rapids, but had so much fun at the house just talking, drinking wine, and listening to the record player that was at the house. Thank you for being such a great host, we loved every moment!
Cool property. Great kitchen and grill for steaks. Needs a big stew pot but other than that the kitchen was fully stocked. The barn is fun, very cool place to explore and throw darts. Bathrooms were well renovated and well-stocked.
I booked this property to celebrate our marriage with close family and take pictures. We were married earlier in the day. The property manager watches the security camera and sent someone to the property to question/harass us. We booked the property for the 2 of us who were staying there but he was concerned we were having a “party” and going to cause “damage” to his property. He said people have done that in the past. The property owner and management company then called multiple times that night which ruined our experience. We felt so harassed we didn’t even spend the night in the home.

From the owners: "The guest booked the home for only 2 adults but invited a dozen guests over to the home without permission. The extra guests parked their cars on a wet lawn during a rainstorm resulting in $1000 in landscape damage.
A neighbor notified me that many cars were parking at the property, so I turned the camera on briefly to determine what action I should take. I called the guest once to understand the situation, leaving a voice message since the guest did not answer. The guest never returned my call during their stay.
The home has clear, upfront rules. The listing, email communications, and signage in the home state that no parties or gatherings are permitted on the property without permission. Failure to adhere to the rules may result in a fine up to $500 and/or eviction from the property.
For the privacy of our guests, the one exterior security camera remains disarmed during a guest stay. If a neighbor or police officer reports a party, large gathering, or many cars are parked at the property then the camera may be briefly activated to assess the situation.
Since the guest was unresponsive, the property maintenance man dropped by to introduce himself and understand their situation. The maintenance man felt uncomfortable by the guests, so he left. The property management company, Evolve Vacation Rental, also called and finally connected with the guest.
After check-out, the guest and I spoke over the phone for 30 minutes to share experiences, feelings, clarify misunderstandings, and find resolution. Even though a rule was broken and property was damaged, I agreed upon a partial refund, covered their lawn damages out of pocket (accidents happen), and did not enforce the $500 rule violation. During the call, the guest stated she felt heard, validated, and appreciated the reimbursement.
I am saddened to see the guest has submitted a review that does not acknowledge their contributions: broke house rule and damaged property. I am also discouraged to read a misrepresentation of my personal character, the use of the security camera on premise, and the overall communication during and after their stay.
For any prospective guests reading this: The Fox Briar was restored with the purpose of being shared—a safe place for families and friends to create lasting memories. If you are interested in an event or inviting guests not included in the original booking, I am happy to accommodate and just require you to reach out for permission."
