Stay and Be Home - Artful & Charming Guest Suite

We have lived and raised our children in this charming historic home. Bill and I are both artists. He is music and I in the visual arts. I grew up just miles from here in the town of Harleysville, Bill in West Chester, PA. We met in 2007 while volunteering at the local theatre. The home has been the perfect setting for family get-togethers. In fact, we were married on the gazebo on the water. As you can see in out owner photo - Bill and I literally took the plunge off of the gazebo to the delight of our wedding guests. Our daughter was married in the beautiful creekside grove in the back of the property. The property keeps us inspired and is captivating. One of the hidden treasures of this area. Since our children have left the nest we have been looking for ways to share it's unique energy with others. We also love to travel and have been hosted by some truly amazing people through the social travel networks. It was when we reflected on the people we have met in our travels and rich experiences that we experienced staying at other people's homes that we decided to offer the guest suite to other travelers. If meeting new people is part of your ideal travel wants, we are interested in engaging with our guests to the extent they would like.

This home is rich in history and rich in story. It has water all around it. A shallow creek running on the North and a lake on the South. The waters converge at the back of the property. Even though the home was run down (now renovated), the first time I walked onto it in 1993, I knew it was something special. And although, we cannot verify that George Washington actually slept here, we can tell you that we discovered that this property and a neighboring farm was the brief home of George Washington's troops (including General Pulaski) when they retreated from the Battle of Germantown on Oct. 17-19, 1777. We have come to find many more interesting local stories in this area. We chose this home for its privacy and yet wonderful proximity to activity: small towns like Skippack, New Hope, Valley Forge and more. It is simply the best of both worlds.

Imagine yourself sipping coffee by the lake as the sun makes its entrance on the day. Or enjoying the herons, hawks and birds flying over head. Wildlife is drawn to the beautiful waters. The fishing is outstanding. The lake is private and was stocked with lots of large fish. The outdoor spaces are just wonderful and the indoor spaces are farmhouse comfortable. There is a kitchenette where you can make light meals. The master suite is a real treat offering lots of room and electric fireplaces in the bedroom and the well-appointed bathroom. A large soaking tub offers to soak away the stresses of your journey. Help yourself to the bath salts!
