About this property

Peaceful, Oceanfront Retreat, Sleeps 8, Semi-Private Sandy Swim Area

B's at Sea is located on the Ocean Point peninsula. Linekin Bay is to the west, and the Damariscotta River to the east. Perched high on a cliff overlooking the
river and ocean, B's at Sea is a soothing retreat away from the bustle of Boothbay Harbor, yet close enough to enjoy all of its amenities. Newly updated and comfortably appointed for up to 8 guests, with 2 full bathrooms, new washer & dryer, gas grill, full kitchen with dishwasher, lobster feasting equipment, deck, all new bedding, pillows, linens, towels and beach towels, new furnishings, high speed wi-fi, cable tv, shared association sandy (at low tide) swim and picnic area 3 doors away, suitable for launching your canoe or kayak.

One queen bedroom, second bedroom with two twins, pull-out queen sofa bed, (with 2" foam topper for extra comfort) and new loft, accessed by a ship-type ladder, (spring 2016) which sleeps two on a full sized futon.

A distant foghorn or the lapping surf may lull you to sleep at night. The murmur of lobster boat engines will likely be the first sounds of the morning. The sun rises early in Maine, and so do many of the lobstering-folk! It is a pleasant, calming hum, however.

The enormous stone fireplace warms the cottage on cool nights. Firewood and starter logs provided. Several games, books, and magazines as well as family DVDs, are kept at B's at Sea for guests to enjoy.

Those more agile may get down to the water's edge and sit on the rocks, but it is somewhat of a challenging descent! Please exercise caution, and supervise children carefully. We will continue to improve the property in order to make the trek easier, and will update the listing accordingly.

About the host

My husband and I bought this cottage in June of 2015 and spent the summer renovating and restoring it. It had been unoccupied for quite some time, and had become dated and overgrown. I grew up in Maine, and have many wonderful memories of Boothbay Harbor as a child, not to mention worked during summer months waiting tables at several fine establishments in the area.

Why they chose this property

East Boothbay is classic Maine. The small village, general store, post office, historic shipyard, and shingled summer cottages make this part of the region extraordinarily special and iconic. Once again, you are close to the harbor, but also far enough to get away from the crowds!

What makes this property unique

It was apparent through the overgrowth, that the water views were fantastic, and that the place really just needed some attention. Lobster boat engines can be heard early in the morning right outside the windows, as the bright, eastern sunshine pours in!

The high level of boating traffic yields something interesting to watch at all times. Whether it be lobster fishing, sailing regattas, large luxury vessels, sightseeing cruises, or persoal watercraft, on a sunny day it is constant.
