Was planning on spending alot of time on the deck but pics were a little deceiving. Could barely see the ocean to the far left and far right while standing.

The living room and master bedroom carpet had at least 40 stains and smelled like dog urine. The kitchen had 1 dish towel and 1 dish cloth. 1/2 of the opening windows did not have screens. Mini-blinds and screens were moldy.Rain gutters had trees growing in them. Bath towels were paper thin.
Stayed 9 nights in Aug 2026
Response from VrboOwner on 1 Oct, 2026
Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. We’re sorry the carpet condition, limited kitchen linens, window screens and blinds, clogged gutters, and worn towels fell short of expectations. We’ll share your feedback with our team so these issues can be reviewed and addressed promptly.

The Halpern House is a very special place. There were many comforts of home and also lots of charming touches. We enjoyed the direct access to a beautiful beach. While the place is not upscale or sleek, it has a magical quality that seeps in with the many thoughtful amenities. It is like being in a treehouse with ocean views. Very quiet and private. We enjoyed our stay.Emma at Meredith properties was very responsive and helpful.
