This is a unique property built by a well-known meditation teacher as a healing retreat. Completely isolated, it is a hexagon with glass walls and a cellar. The property is 40 acres and set in the Little Yarra Valley offshoot of the Upper Yarra Valley. Our house is located on a high island of the valley with views that stun. We have approx 700 metres of Little Yarra River frontage with several acres of rain-forest (wet sclerophyll). There is also a pine forest and walks everywhere. We even have an old gold mine!
STYLE - The house is made from wood, much of which was originally cut from the property. I like to think it is a bit 'African Safari', it is the perfect excuse to escape the city and enjoy a more peaceful way of life.
WHY IS THE HOUSE UNIQUE? - Everyone who comes to the house adores it. They gasp at the views, revel in the serenity and marvel at the connection to nature. We have 200 kangaroos on the lawn and wombats by the pool at night as well as two resident kangaroos that visit often.
In addition to staying at our lovely house, we also provide the following so you can really enjoy your stay: - A magnificent horizon pool setting with barbecue - WIFI
THE KITCHEN - A walk-in pantry with all of the basic cooking condiments including locally produced olive oil, salt/pepper, spices, herbs, flour, sugar, tea, coffee etc. - Dishwasher - Bread-maker, slow-cooker, juicer. - Microwave - Double Liebherr fridge
THE BATHROOMS - Main bathroom completely renovated with a spa and double vanities - Ensuite bathroom - Our water is all natural from the tank. The pressure and supply is excellent
THE BEDROOMS The house has four large bedrooms each has a 4 queen bed.
The master bedroom looks out over the valley and is truly a beauty to behold. The other bedrooms look over the garden. The kangaroos come onto the lawn in the morning and you can watch the clouds pass up the valley and even see snow on Donna Buang on the colder days.
HEATING & COOLING The house is fully centrally heated, and has fans in every room for the warmer months. There is also a lovely open fireplace to cosy up to in the cooler months.
THE POOL Our pool is amazing and huge. It is nearly 25 metres long and 10 feet deep (to mix my measures) at the deep end. The deck around the pool is expansive so there is plenty of room for entertaining during your stay.
THE LAUNDRY Modern laundry with all the amenities.
OUTSIDE THE HOUSE Apart from very large decks all around the house and pool, there is a terrace with large modern barbecue. We have large outdoor tables on the front and rear decks as well as the pool deck.
The garden is planted with rare and exotic plants and large established trees as well as a substantial orchard.
ACTIVITIES Wineries, micro-breweries, restaurants, shops and country living are all at your doorstep. There are approximately 16 wineries within a 30 minute drive of Warburton.
The start of the popular Warburton Trail is also nearby. This is 29 km of gravel path for bikes, walking or horse-riding. There is also the aqueduct trail, close access to national forest and drives and trails on the property.
Other sporting activities include: - Golf at the Warburton Golf Club (10 min drive) - Cycling (local bike hire) - Hot air ballooning at Healesville - Nancy's of the Valley cafe at Yarra Junction - Oscars restaurant at Warburton

Outstanding property with unrivaled views. Fully equipped kitchen with all the extras . Kangaroos , koalas and horses. A magical adventure for adults and children. Response to questions within minutes . Within easy reach of the numerous landmark towns and nature areas . We loved stay.
The house was fabulous for two families of teenagers. Huge swimming pool, stunning views, loads of wildlife on the property including kangaroos, wombat, koala, black cockatoos, donkeys and horses. If you are lucky, two friendly golden retrievers might come to visit as well. Louise is very helpful, the house is well equipped with everything you need. Couldn't have been happier.

We choose this property for its location. It's flora and fauna. It was everything we wanted for a relaxing recharge weekend. If only we could have stayed longer.

Why they chose this property
Our view is world leading, unhindered by anything but trees, paddocks and mountains. We look out over the fabulous upper Yarra Valley and the experience all starts on the beautiful 3/4km tree-lined drive. There are plenty of paths through our own paddocks, dry forest and rainforest as well as a pine forest with plentiful pine mushrooms. The bush along our river is said to hold the original aboriginal track and the water is always abundant, fresh and clear. In the area there are regular markets, wineries, pubs, restaurants, cafes, many long tendered walking tracks, bike hire, horse events, ballooning and . .. anything else you heart desires.
What makes this property unique
On the property we have 100's of kangaroos that come in and around the property so you will be able to see them up close. However we do recommend that you do not try to pat them, as they are wild. Also, you will experience many other uniquely Australian Wildlife during your visit to Kangaroo Manor.
