Lupine Guest House is located 2 blocks from the ocean : Rockport Harbor. You will find the quarters to be bright, newly renovated, airy, and relaxing. There is a private deck and yard with gardens to enjoy. The kitchen is fully updated with everything you need. The living space is uncluttered and soothing. As is common in New England in Maine, there is no AC, however you will find the breeze that blows in through all the windows to be refreshing. The location is in a desirable, child friendly, residential neighborhood.
Within a pleasant 15 minute walking radius you will find restaurants, a gourmet food market, a take-out seafood shack and an amazing wine shop. The scenic walk starts the moment you step outside, within minutes you'll find yourself overlooking Rockport Harbor. At Walker Park, push a small child on a swing while viewing the sailboats waiting on their moorings. At the Rockport Marine Park, check out the view and the small sand beach. You can also launch your boat, kayak or SUP board. Or, sit and enjoy a tasty bite at the local food truck.
There is so much to do and see. Walk or bike Beauchamp Point. Lupine Guest House is a short drive to Camden Hills State Park with exceptional hiking and incredible views. Megunticook Lake is within a five mile drive. You can view 4 lighthouses in one day, from Owl's Head Lighthouse to Curtis Island Light in Camden. Set your sights on a beach, relax in the fresh salt air. Each beach has it's own characteristics, sandy or rocky, high tide and low tide all bring a new experience.
Sail world renowned Penobscot Bay on Schooner Heron out of Rockport Harbor, or other schooners out of Camden Harbor. You can stay on land and just look out over the bay from the top of Beech Hill Preserve, just 1.5 miles from the Guest House. Downtown Camden offers unique shopping and restaurants. Downtown Rockland offers a vibrant art scene and delicious food. Rockport is the quiet getaway, close to it all.
Acadia National Park is an 1.5 hour drive north. The Maine Botanical Gardens are 50 minutes to the south. A ferry trip to Islesboro is a 20 minute ride, bring a bike and tour the island for the day. North Haven and Vinalhaven Islands are 50 minutes away by ferry, try it and experience island life.
Other ways to fill your day include a visit to Cellardoor Vineyards, Farnsworth Art Museum, Center for Maine Contemporary Art, catch a music show hosted by Bay Chamber Concerts or the Strand Theater.
Visit Rockport for an occasion: Camden Conference, Camden International Film Festival, or the Toboggan Nationals at the Camden Snow Bowl are just of the few annual events in the area.
When you are ready to relax and put your feet up, head back to Lupine Guest House for an evening in. Make dinner in the fully equipped kitchen and curl up to a book. About the host
Hosted by Maud Abess

I moved to Maine from the south in 2003 and haven't been able to leave New England since. The seasons are beautiful, each offering their own fun activities. In the summer and fall, the air is magical. The winter never allows enough time to sled and ski. I love living in small town Maine. Everyday, I am thankful I am able to live here.
