The cabin was nice and it’s a true ski in /ski out property… Just a Short little walk to the slopes and click in and start riding… the cabin was cozy, even had fire starters and some wood to have a nice fire… we definitely will come back!
Beautiful home, very clean, but expect not to be able to drive your vehicle all the way up the hill to gain access to this home while Beach Mountain is blowing their snow, and they do not have the road scraped or salted.
The owner did not inform us that the rental did not have water until the day before. We were already en-route and could not find any availability similar on the holiday weekend. After talking with neighbors the pipes were an issue for weeks which the owner was aware of but did not disclose. The trash bins were overflowing and not taken off. The unit was not cleaned. We arrived and the cleaners were not even there at 4:30 which we still had to wait on. We arrived to find empty gallons of water from the previous rental. Having to find a rental and/or stay somewhere without water is something I consider unacceptable when still being charged a substantial amount.

Guest was offered a full refund prior to checking in, he insisted on wanting to stay anyway and provided him with half the money back, he was without water for one day.
This was a great location and space for our family ski trip. The chalet was very clean and had everything we needed. The host was very helpful and responsive. Such a great experience! Thank you for sharing your chalet with our family!
We had an amazing trip. The house was super cute and clean. Exceeded all of our expectations. Will definitely rent again. Owner was very prompt with replies to any questions we had.

Replaced the 3 light bulbs that were out and had cleaning people take care of the area under the sink and dust found in some of the house corners. After speaking with guest he stated that best route would have been to just call owner on such minor items instead of placing it in a review.

From The Beach to The Beech
I came up for a short skiing holiday from Orange Beach, AL with my family. The weather turned colder so they blew snow on the slopes and we had a great time. The views from this chalet are awesome sitting at the top of Beech Mountain. It is not a true ski in/out because you have to walk down the road to gain access to a blue run. Then the walk back up it a couple of hundred yards. The chalet was clean and nice with a few minor things wrong but overall it was a nice stay.

The property is 1 house away from the slopes, there is an allowed easement/access between the houses making it a ski in ski out chalet.

A very unloved house
This is s a place that looks good in pictures but fails to provide adequate linens, kitchen utensils, paper goods, or any sense of welcome. Parking in the winter is almost nonexistent. It was a lot of money for very little.

We’re never asked for additional linens, we provide paper goods adequate for the stay, there are plenty of kitchen utensils as this our second home and come and stay periodically.
Parking is available for full size vehicles, due to snow it makes it more challenging to park when town has not plowed the road.
You can’t make everyone happy.
Our family has skied for many years and I had always wanted to star in a "round" chalet ski cabin. This one fulfilled ALL my expectations! It was tastefully decorated with all things "mountain cabin" related. Comfortable furniture in the den and very comfortable beds. Well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. All the linens carried out the "mountain cabin" theme also. The location was excellent. It was listed as ski in/ski out, which it truly was. We had just a small glitch with this. There had been a 6" snowfall in the couple of days before we got there so it took a little shoveling to access the slope. It would be a good idea to provide a metal shovel in place of a plastic shovel for this job. We also loved the wood burning fireplace! A great experience and we would surely rent this chalet again! We didn't have any reason to message the owner as everything was just as the description said.
This rental was exactly what was promised. The views were amazing and our family had an incredible time skiing in and out of this beautiful chalet. We weren't quite prepared for the difficult drive up to the house (especially since the ski resort had been blowing snow all afternoon), however, our host was quite helpful when I messaged him on VRBO, and even called me to make sure we made it up ok. We got some snow chains and it made things much easier. The town does an excellent job of clearing the road in the morning, making access much easier. We also met one of the neighbors who offered to help us get out if the need arose. If you plan to stay here during the winter months, definitley plan to arrive before nightfall so your trip up will be easier....or ensure your vehicle is equipped with 4 wheel drive or snow chains.
Beds were comfy, living room was cozy, and the beautiful Christmas tree welcomed us when we arrived. We loved our stay here and honestly can't imagine another ski vacation without staying right on the slopes!

Just your average bad vacation week
Great vacations cannot be appreciated without having a bad one. At first glance the exterior of the home is a complete eyesore...knee high weeds...scattered trash...fogged windows and then you step foot on a severely neglected deck with rotten spots warning you to be careful where you step. The interior of the home is a complete 180...beautifully furnished...floor to ceiling knotty pine paneling everywhere...all bedding and furniture of high quality and very comfortable. Great first night...then my husband woke up the next morning to dripping water on the downstairs master bed. He then called the homeowner to let him know of the leak to which he stated he would fix it AFTER WE LEFT. My husband then called VRBO customer service and then after they contacted the home owner, the home owner stated he tried to contact a plumber...sure he did. He messaged us through the VRBO app on Monday that the plumber would "try" and get by after lunch Tuesday. My husband instructed the home owner for the plumber to contact us with an ETA so we could be there as we have our fur babies with us and to let him know the downstairs master bath tub leaks as well. After staying within 30 minutes from the house all day Tuesday...never any contact from the plumber. With not one single bedroom window that will open in ANY of the bedrooms, we abandoned using the downstairs bedroom as it was a musty humid mess after plumbing leaks. After a couple of days in the upper 70's, being in a house with no windows that open, it tends to get toasty. God bless my husband's patience, he owns rental properties and knows all to well that "stuff" happens. The internet NEVER worked our entire stay, plumbing leaks and no windows that open...it surprised me that he didn't blow his top..LOL...especially dealing with a homeowner that acted like he was the one being inconvenienced. My husband even went the extra mile to temporarily fix the leaking shower with ZERO thanks from the homeowner. It's a shame that VRBO doesn't allow guests photos...trust me..these are worth a million words.
This house, or most importantly the homeowner, has given us an unforgettable stay that we will laugh about 10 years from now.
Thanks Anthony :)

Just your average bad renter you get once every 2-3 years!!!
First of all my home is not a luxury resort, it is a cabin that I rent out for guests to enjoy through Vacation Rentals By Owner aka VRBO. I think that you got real value for your money! Weeds do grow and are taken care of on a as needed basis, as to the plumbing leak the plumber was called but was not able to come on the day he promised, he offered to come the next day but you said not to bother because you had fixed it. The Router had gone out due to a storm that came through the day before your arrival and has been replaced by the internet company.
I let you “furry babies” stay where most places don’t allow pets and they left a furry mess for my cleaning lady to clean!!
The deck is repaired and painted every year prior to ski season.
At least you’re honest in stating that the interior is beautiful and comfortable with high quality furniture.
It is my home and not a hotell!!! For someone who stated owns many rentals you were not very understanding!
Thanks for your review!!
This is our second time staying here and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more. The weather was perfect - cool and sunny - and the back deck views were amazing. MBR was very comfortable, and we just love the wood fireplace. The kitchen also had everything we needed. Look forward to our next stay here next chance we get!
