Sweet Victorian Beach Cottage

Right in Historic Cape Charles!!! Just a minute walk to the Marina and a few minute walk to the beach, this Victorian beach house has all the modern comforts downstairs, with a huge modern kitchen, spacious living room with gas fireplace and brand new half bath, coupled with the sweet charm of a chic cottage upstairs with three bedrooms and a full bath.

Outside it has a large fenced yard with a big back patio for BBQing and hanging out. It has a private outdoor shower with a full closed in changing area and a shed packed with beach cruiser bicycles, beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, lawn games such as corn hole....everything you could need for a family fun packed getaway.

All attractions are just a walk, bike or golf cart ride away! We have a 5 passenger golf cart with utility cart available for separate rental fee and must be pre-arranged.

The house has a good size master with a Queen size bed (sleeps 2) as well as a family suite that has one room with a full size bed (sleeps 2) and another with bunk beds (sleeps 2).

Our property has a washer/dryer combo unit great for small loads and we provide all the fresh linens and towels you could need!

Great town. Loved the Cape. Sweet little house. Water is not drinkable and the bathroom sink drain did not drain. Overall a great stay.

I must clarify that the water is drinkable, the house is hooked up to the town water just like all the houses in historic Cape Charles, so it is absolutely tested to be safe drinking water. However, we personally do not drink it, which is why we provide a water cooler and 5 gallon jugs of fresh drinking water as we did for you.

Perfect set up

We had a great stay. Owner was very easy to reach, although we had everything we needed it was nice knowing she was responsive if something arouse. The setup of the house was perfect for our group and was as expected from the listing. Would absolutely book again. The option to add on the golf cart was amazing. The house was clean and spacious. Great beach house

Property was in a great location, easy access to the beach and the golf cart was awesome! Outdoor shower was very helpful with getting the sand off the kids. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Great time

We had a great stay! The location is perfect to take a quick golf cart ride to the beach or to the downtown area. The house was a great place to wind down and the outdoor shower helped keep the sand out of the house. The owner was great to communicate with the entire stay.

Great Week Away

We really enjoyed our stay. The outdoor shower was a major bonus! The house was tidy, had ample towels and beach towels to borrow, washing machine, games, books, coffee, no clutter and Lenore was super responsive throughout our stay. We rented the golf cart for a couple days, which was fun and made traveling around town very convenient.

Great stay

Our family had the best time in Cape Charles. We loved that we could park our car for the week and golf cart everywhere. The house was a short ride to everything- the beach, restaurants, put put golf, etc. We loved having an outdoor shower for easy clean up for the kids after our beach days.

Wonderful place for a relaxing vacation

We had a great trip to Cape Charles. The host was so kind, communicative, and provided everything we'd need for a great visit. Really helpful to have all of the beach gear at the house, so we didn't have to pack it. The house is a great size for a family and in a great location for exploring the beach and the town. Highly recommend!

Family getaway

Overall stay was enjoyable, house was clean and accommodating. Check in and out were easy, host was communicative. House is an older home that had been partially renovated, the upstairs is cooled by window AC units as well it is not a true 3 bedroom. Upstairs bathroom is okay, not the best for bathing children, needs updating. The appliances are all in need of upgrading, the washer/dryer unit was not functioning which was a huge inconvenience for us, as we specifically only rent where we can do laundry, as well the dishwasher broke mid way through our stay.

Hi Meredith, we stand by our description of our house. It is older, historic, built in 1901 and we love that. Renovated downstairs and classic upstairs. It clearly states a master BR and a family suite with two BR’s on the same wing. House has central air throughout…window units are for custom comfort. We apologized and gave you credit for the appliances. Some things are unavoidable unfortunately. It is certainly unusual to have two appliances break during the same stay, but they are being replaced. Happy that overall your stay was pleasurable!

Home had everything we needed, plenty of space for our family to hang out and play games during rainy days, the entire home was well-stocked with toiletries, towels and the like. Perfect for a Fun Visit

The house was well equipped, clean and a great space for a family visit, especially with COVID still raging. We were able to have dinners with family at the well appointed dinning table, as well as spend time on the little patio. Having a washer/ dryer was a great bonus and if you need groceries, the store is not even a ten minute car ride. We would definitely stay here again!

Lenore & Rocco have been vacationing in Cape Charles since 2013 when they took their first family vacation there and fell in love!!! They knew then that the 23310 was a very special place. In 2017, they purchased the "Jay House" with the thoughts of one day retiring...but within 6 months knew they didn't want to wait and made Cape Charles their home in 2018 full time. Since then, they have moved out to the waterfront to a more rural area and now enjoy sharing The Jay House with other families. They are also the owners of Love + Rosemary, a well known catering company on the shore and Edible Picasso Co. a cafe/store in downtown Cape Charles.

Why they chose this property

Lenore & Rocco's favorite thing about their home on Jefferson is the big modern kitchen and living room space, gorgeous yard and it's location...close to everything but somehow away from the crowds.
