Also you can rent a golf cart and take the road. Golf carts can be rented hourly, daily, or weekly. Please inquire with the resort on availability and rates. You can also rent your own cart in town if you want to shop rates. The roads up north can get quite bumpy and are an adventure in themselves. They tend to get pot holes. If they don't get graded enough. During rainy periods, they can get standing water. There are very few paved roads on the island, apart from closer to town. Check with the resort of road conditions.
There is a small restaurant at the resort that makes delicious food and the best cocktails, you can order food to your unit, eat in the restaurant, poolside or have a romantic dinner on the beach, or get food from San Pedro and cook yourself. Grocery delivery can also be organized through the resort for a fee. Our location is secluded in a beautiful northern part of the island. The golf cart ride will take around 45 to 50 minutes and a van transfer will be quicker. The island has many beautiful locations to explore or just relax at the resort by the pool or on the beach.
I collect Local Government taxes and fees, which will show up on your booking. I pay this amount directly to the resort/Government and have no control over this.
Do not hesitate to ask any questions about the unit, resort, or surrounding area. Ask me about Ambergris Caye, San Pedro, and Belize. I can answer questions about travel, excursions, and tours. I want your stay to be enjoyable and stress free, so communication is key.

This was a perfect place for us. The pools were gorgeous and the bar and restaurant had great food and drinks. The apartment was spacious for 2 people and we loved our stay
Great location, the resort grounds are beautiful and the staff were all very accommodating. The room was cozy, AC worked great, could have used a full size coffee pot but other than that it was a fantastic stay.

Thank you for your comments. I wish you had let us know during your stay if you had any issues, and we could have helped resolve them. The road unfortunately gets bumpy during rainy periods which we can't control, but any issue with the unit we could look into with communication and a bit more detail. Unfortunately even though we communicated with you to check in, before, during and after your stay, you never responded. We will look into the issues you listed.

Disliked: Location
Apartment is in good condition. The condos ammenities are OK.Beach is clean. But, 9 miles from San Pedro in terrible roads to get there make it really hard to enjoy. It takes 1.5 hours ro get there from San Pedro in a golf car.Jason and the staff do they best to make you feel at home..But, rhe fact is that this is way to far if you want to go explore the island.

Thank you tor your review. Unfortunately Jorge ignored all my communications prior to their arrival. He did not read my manual and did not contact the resort or even look at the location. He told me in the U.S, 9 miles takes 10 mins by car. He arrived late at night into San Pedro without communication and messaged me asking where to go and how to get in contact with the resort. The drive in normal conditions 35 to 45 minutes depending on how adventurous you are. And the beautiful location is a plus for most people. I did offer him a refund as he wanted to be in town, but after visiting San Pedeo he said he liked our resort more as it was too busy in town and the drive wasn't bad during the daytime. A lot of accommodations have seawalls in town now and no beach, another plus for our northern location. It is important to know the area you want to stay in and book accordingly.
We did enjoy our stay. Overall the resort is great! Staff are amazing. We rented a golf cart and didn't mind the drive into San Pedro despite the rough patches and potholes in the roads. We just considered it part of the adventure. We just had a few issues within the unit. We had to have housekeeping help with padding the mattress. It is very hard and has no cushion left. My husband actually slept on a patio chair cushion on top of the mattress. Even with the padding provided (a 2nd mattress pad and a thin blanket... there was already one mattress pad on the bed) sleeping was pretty rough. The futon has also seen better days and is not comfortable to sit on. We used the other patio chair cushion on the futon when we were sitting down. Lastly the refrigerator is very loud. I noticed a previous review about the refrigerator as well and didn't think much about it, but it is definitely loud. With all that being said, we still enjoyed our stay immensely and absolutely fell in love with Belize. We will definitely be returning!

Thank you Loretta for you review, we are so glad you enjoyed yourself so much, that you will return, there is no better compliment. I am sorry you found the bed mattress and sofa cushions not as soft as you prefer. We always have additional padded mattress pads available but have never had anyone request them to make it softer. One guest requested the manufacturer of the mattress as she said it was the best sleep she had, had and wanted to purchase the same one for her home. I suppose everyone has different tastes. We hope to see you back in beautiful Belize.
Sapphire Bay is a lovely, very well-maintained and secure resort. The staff are the most friendly and helpful people we have met. Everyone works hard to make your stay enjoyable. Eddy, in the office, booked excursions and our flights to Belize City for us. Wilbert, worked at the Tiki Bar and anywhere else he was needed. Felt like family!9c is a nice, clean, little unit. Everything two people need. Water and coffee was supplied. TV was appreciated as there were a few cooler nights. It's not ocean front which was actually good as we had some windy days. There are 3 pools that are spotless! We had a balcony that overlooks the pool and we enjoyed eating our breakfast in the sun each morning. The location is remote but we loved exploring the area and had great fun snorkeling, driving our cart to Secret Beach and up north to other resorts. San Pedro is only 40 minutes away so easy to explore and have meals there as well. Jason, the host, was responsive to any questions we had and supplied us with ample information prior to our visit. We are in our 60's and very active and the resort does have an older, but active clientele. We enjoyed meeting people as it's a very friendly community and many people stay long term or return each year. So, if you are looking for a quiet location as a home base to enjoy excursions, explore on a golf cart and meet great people 50 you will enjoy this location.

Thank you Eric. We are so glad that you had such a wonderful stay in my unit and that you enjoyed the location, beach, resort and my unit so much. We hope to welcome you back in the future.
We loved this location, further from crowds but enough restaurants and things to do to keep us busy and entertained. When we booked we didn’t realize that this rental also comes with daily cleaning and some of the best resort staff you’ll find. Was perfect for spending the day on their beach, using their kayaks and enjoying both the tiki bar and restaurant. Surrounding restaurants were great too! My boys ages 8 and 13 had a great time!

Beautiful Resort. A little bit more quaint than a "Resort". Which is a plus! Sand walkways - three pools - restaurant was excellent!(but very quiet - a little music please) Front desk, grounds folks, and everyone was very good and helpful - (Sheila, Kenya).

It was a leisure hosting you. We are so glad you enjoyed our piece of paradise. I will pass on thanks to the staff. Hope to see you back in the future.
This is a wonderful resort north of San Pedro and Ambergris Caye. It's well maintained, and the staff were truly amazing! Our room was a tad smaller than we realized but it worked great and coming during the normal off-season we pretty much had the place to ourselves, including the use of the (2) regular pools. You can easily rent a golf-cart from here to cruise to such spots as Secret Beach or the Truck Stop. It was a great location for a fun family vacation and thanks again for offering it up!

Thank you for a great review Michael. We are gald you had such a great time. You we such wonderful guests. We hope you see you back soon.
Loved that we were away from the hustle n bustle..the unit was on the edge of the often wonky wi-fi, but so what-we were there to "unplug" loved the staff, made so many new friends. When I read some of the comments of others, I was grateful for the comforts and also the "wildness" of Sapphire Beach. Tankless hot water, the nearby mercados with fruit, the help of the staff when I couldn't get the coffeemaker to work..I wished I could be blessed to live here year round..can't wait to return...

Enjoyed our stay at the property, all staff were amazing and knowledgeable. Knowing now how far from town it is I may choose to stay closer but that’s only because how I like to vacation. There was nothing I could say negatively about the property or listing.
Perfect spot for resting . Amgios Del Mar picked up every morning for my dives . The amenities were good and the A/C worked like a dream . Thank you -

Thank you Nataliya for your review. We are glad you had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed hosting you.
At certain times we along with all of Belize, the Caribbean and parts of Mexico and the U.S have experienced the sargasso coming ashore. The grounds staff work tirelessly throughout the day to keep the beach clean. And do a very good job compared to many other resorts and in town. And you can swim in blue waters by the reef and other areas.
It seems to be dying down thankfully as it tends to do after at this time.
We hope to welcome you back in the future.

About the host
Hosted by Owner
We love to travel and fell in love with Belize. The country and it's people.
We always try our best to make someone's vacation as perfect as possible, just like we would like for us when we travel. Please don't hesitate to ask questions for your planning.
Why they chose this property
We fell is love with Belize. The history, the Mayan ruins, the people and the countryside and animals.
Belize is English speaking. Takes U.S dollars of Belize Dollars for everything. The country is stable. It is opening more up to tourists but still not taken over by large multinational hotels chains.
Most of the accommodation is smaller owner owned resorts.
Our resort was one of the only areas we found that had a private beach. The north part of the island is less developed. Further south there are more rocks and man made sea walls with elevated beach areas. The world's second longest reef lays just off shore from the resort.
The resort is a good distance from town. You need to take transport to and from town. Or you can rent a golf cart to get around or ride bikes. The road can get bumpy especially after rain. Our location is beautiful and secluded and other resorts dotted along the coastline.
Some people say it is far to get to the resort but it's semi remote location is part of it's appeal for many, and the ride is picturesque. If you rent a golf cart or get a taxi it is an adventure drive through small resorts and local terrain. Please ask about road conditions if renting a golf cart. There are no lights on the road at night.
You can enjoy prepared food from the resorts small restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. (Check on the restaurants hours based on season)Have it in the restaurant, at the bar in your unit or even on the beach. Or you can have the resort or go yourself into town and purchase supplies and cook in the unit. Make your own cocktails with the units blender.
What makes this property unique
Please contact me for any information you may need on our unit, the resort, Ambergris Caye and Belize. Any travel information etc, I will answer as much as I can.
I want your stay to be everything you wish for.
The location is beautiful with the Caribbean on one side and Belize jungle on the other. You are far enough away to feel relaxed from the hustle of life but can get access to most things you need.
Free use of bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, for guests, in a first come basis.
The Resort will take over the booking once you have booked. They are excellent at preparing you for your visit and making sure your stay is great. I collect local Government taxes and fees that I pay directly to the resort/Government. I will still be available to communicate with and you can ask any questions you have.
