Northwoods cabin is ready for your vacation. The kitchen and primary bedroom/bathroom have been completely remodeled and perfect for your getaway.

Located 5 minutes from downtown Truckee, Northwoods cabin is 1500 sf, with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a 2 car garage. Come play at the nearby ski resorts, hike or bike in the Sierras or raft down the Tahoe River. Our cozy home is located on Northwoods Blvd two miles to Northwoods clubhouse and Trout Creek recreation center.
Sleeps 8. Master bedroom – Queen bed with private bath, Bedroom 2 - Queen size bed, Bedroom 3 – 1 bunk bed and one twin (sleeps 3). Two car detached garage. Full sized washer and dryer. Large screen HD TV and gas fireplace in living room. Wi-Fi Internet Access throughout home. Use your device and our HDMI cable to stream content to the big screen.

Just minutes to Historic Downtown Truckee, market and restaurants. Five minutes to Donner Lake, Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area, and world class cross country skiing. Only 15-20 minutes to Squaw, Northstar, Alpine Meadows and Sugar Bowl ski areas. Rental includes guest passes allowing paid access to private Tahoe Donner amenities. (Day use fees are additional). Tahoe Donner amenities include the private Trout Creek Recreation Center featuring a full gym, hot tubs and year-round pool. Seasonal amenities include the Tahoe Donner Ski Area, X-Country Ski Center, private beach at Donner Lake, golf, tennis, hiking/biking trails, and equestrian center.
Once inside the cabin, the entire house is on one level. 4 stairs at front of house.

Please note that the 30-40 foot path from the garage to the house is outdoors and may have snow on it during winter months. We love that you have snowy views from all sides unblocked by attached garage but please consider coming prepared with winter shoes. Shovels provided if you wish to clear snow during your stay.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
The recycling is picked up every other Tuesday. If you are staying on a Tuesday, please put recycling out. We will try to add a schedule soon.
Please make sure to leave one set of keys in the lockbox at all times in case of lockout. Please use the keys in the house for daily outings.
Fireplace instructions are in the brown folder.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Great home in very convenient location near the ski lifts. Great for families and people looking for a low key place for winter. It had everything we needed. Hosts were reachable in case we needed something.

Roomy place to stay for a fun ski weekend

The cabin was lovely with many upgrades installed. The hosts were very accommodating, helping us with some special requests due to our old age. The only “disappointment” was that we thought that the cabin, due to the picture, was a bit more private. Certainly not a big deal.

Perfect Basecamp

This was a perfect basecamp for our group. Big kitchen for home cooking, relaxing open floor plan. Single story was great for guests with limited mobility. Garage was priceless during the big snow storm. Easy access to mountain fun and Truckee shopping/dining. We will definitely stay again! Owners were extremely responsive and gracious hosts.

Summer Solstice in Truckee

House was great. Spacious, great kitchen. Bedrooms were big and mattresses comfy. Nice bathrooms. Enough towels, sheets, pillows, and blankets. Just wish there was some patio furniture on the back deck to sit outside. Also it was a little confusing on how to turn on the fireplace. Otherwise we would come back again.

Wonderful home by a wonderful host

Due to the floods and heavy snow, our host was super understanding with our travel situation. We loved our stay and the owner was so kind in helping us answering our questions. The home had a cabin vibe and was very clean. Loved it here!

Amazing

Beautiful atmospheric cabin, very cabin-y, kitchen had all we needed, bathrooms appear renovated recently, spacious garage for 2 cars, wide comfy driveway. Paintings / pictures everywhere were very enjoyable, even took photos of them:) loved french vintage armchairs!! Lots of space around the house itself for kids to play in snow no steep areas. Would love to stay there again!

Spacious cabin in Northwoods neighborhood of Truckee

The property was clean and spacious for our group of adults. The kitchen was well equipped and functional The owner provided ample description and pictures ahead of time of the snow around the area and potential challenges with arrival and getting around. We ended up having great weather and no issues getting in. Big thanks to everyone who had been shoveling to maintain the path through feet of snow!

Great place to stay for the price

Overall, we were very happy with the stay. The cabin is in a great location, clean and comfortable. This was especially important because we were snowed in for 2 days! The only issue was iciness on the raised pathway and steps from the garage to the house. However, David was extremely responsive. I think the fault actually lies with the property management company. It’s also a very snowy year.

Clean, convenient, comfortable home

We had a lovely stay here in Feb 2025. The home is very clean, with plenty of extra bedding and new towels. The kitchen and bathrooms look like they’ve been updated fairly recently, and the open and airy kitchen/living room area was great for our family. It’s in a quiet neighborhood near Tahoe Donner ski resort, and there was plenty of space in the yard for the kids to play in the snow. There is a large primary bedroom suite with several large windows, but there are no window treatments so no privacy, and I can imagine it’s annoying if you’re trying to sleep past 6am in the summer. And I will say that the beds are VERY firm, so maybe bring mattress toppers if that’s not your preference. The home isn’t fancy, but it’s nice and clean and comfortable and I would stay there again.

Great location and comfy stay for a family weekend.

We had a wonderful time at this property. The neighborhood is well-maintained and there was one guest pass for us to use. If you’re planning on doing laundry be sure to bring your own detergent. The only part of the stay that I would recommend you are aware of is that the garage is at the front of the property and the house is in the back and it is detached. I did slip and fall on the ice a few times so please be careful When going back-and-forth to the house if it has been snowing. Other than that it was a great property with tons of board games and books and comfy sitting space. The kids loved the bunk room!

Clean up the yard

This place can be super. It is definitely in need of some TLC. The yard had broken flower pots with no flowers, the snow poles were still in and broken trees were laying on their side. Other then 2 chairs in front of the house. There was no outdoor furniture for the back deck, with a little time it could be much nicer.

Things to improve a stay at this property

A deep cleaning should be done once per year. The blinds were all very dusty, the shelves in the kitchen were dirty, some chairs were broken down, there was only one wash cloth, the door jams for the house and garage need replacement or repair, the kitchen sink faucet needs a weight on the hose to pull it back into place, I repaired drapes and ceiling fans but one fan quit working and the owner did not respond to a request to get it repaired, the yard was full of large weeds near the sidewalk, (I removed them), screens on some doors and windows need repair or replacement and the garage was a mess. ( I cleaned it up.)

This cabin has been semi updated and is accurate to the pictures posted. It had tons of snow to play in and was in a great location close to shopping, parks, and restaurants. The house was clean and the host was very responsive about any questions. The kitchen had enough things to cook with and there was extra bedding in the house. It’s not super fancy but a great spot for family and dog friendly. You will need to bring shampoo, conditioner and a hair dryer. The beds were very firm in all the rooms, we plan to come back and will probably bring toppers. Great cabin for the price and location and host was very nice.

An okay stay

Although the cabin was beautiful and in an excellent location, the maintenance of the actual cabin left much to be desired. Some towels were brand new, but others had multiple holes in the fabric with particles of the towel falling off. The plates in the cabin were old and scuffed, and there’s a lingering smell of mildew. There is no AC, which we knew prior to our stay, but screens would be helpful in staying cool and keeping bugs out at the same time. However, separately from all these unfortunate factors, our stay was pleasant

Spacious sunny unit but a lot of broken items

The unit was spacious, sunny, clean, well stocked with basics. However, there were abundant issues with broken or non functioning items, including fan, lights, windows, etc. You are required a high deposit or a nonrefundable payment for incidentals. Considering you had to pick one, there were a lot of damages at the property upon arrival.

We love the mountains. We enjoy downhill skiing, cross country skiing, hiking, playing on the lake, and just sitting on the deck (or on the couch looking out the windows at the beautiful snowy landscape!).
We bought our property so we can spend time together and with family.

What makes this property unique

We loved the way the house is set back from the street and the views of trees from every window. We also love the amenities at Tahoe Donner, and the easy access.
