We stayed here while visiting Shenandoah National Park. The beds were very comfortable and the kids liked the "closet" room. The kitchen had everything we needed, and being able to do laundry was very helpful after sweaty and dirty hikes. We loved looking out the window and seeing the cows!
The house and property was peacful and secluded. Our kids enjoyed playing in the yard. We loved the bunk beds being in a room attached to ours as our young kids still want to be close to us at bedtime. Would reccomend to anyone wanting a quiet, slow vacation.
My family loved the farmhouse! The land it sits on is amazing, with river frontage and views from the house and yard of Blue Ridge, and Massanutten. The house is well preserved making it a private superb gem of the valley.
This was our fifth time staying at this adorable farmhouse! Very cozy and clean and minutes away from Massanutten. Typically we drop the kids off to snowboard and we go explore the neighboring towns! Cute wineries, a lavender farm, and JMU near by!
What a wonderful escape in the beautiful countryside! We loved our stay at the charming Farmhouse. The house itself was well stocked, clean, and spacious. The beds were so comfy! Plenty of places for our family to sprawl out. The yard was big and it was fun to see the cows in the meadow and walk down to the river. The host was great and responded quickly. Located near hiking, ski resort, and Harrisonburg. Great property!!!!
This was our 4th stay here - the kids always have a blast! We had planned to come in the summer but Hurricane Debbie derailed our plans. Forrest was extremely helpful and we were able to make it down in November when the kids had a break from school. As always, the location can’t be beat. We can’t wait to return!
This was a great location to visit Shenandoah National Park for a few days. It was a 15 minute drive for us to the Swift Run entrance. The farm itself is peaceful & beautiful! Our kids loved the cows out front, and we enjoyed Star viewing each night.
I think 3 bedrooms is misleading… the 3rd “bedroom” is a large closet/attic off of the master bedroom, with wooden pallet beds. It was ok for my elementary age kids, but if I’d had teens or other adults expecting an actual bedroom with comfortable beds, we would’ve been disappointed. But overall it was a good stay!
Wonderful stay at the farmhouse. We had a great long weekend with grandparents. The house was clean and perfect for our purposes. The cows were fun for our girls to “talk” to each morning. The location couldn’t be better and the quiet serenity of the house was very welcome
Perfect location near the AT in a beautiful setting of pasture, crops, and calves. Just a simple farm house a little off the beaten path. A perfect getaway
We stayed at this farmhouse in Elkton while spending a few days hiking in Shenandoah NP. The location is very very convenient. The atmosphere of the home is cozy and relaxing. It is clean and well stocked with kitchen essentials. Communication with the owner was prompt and clear. I highly recommend it!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location
Nice place, bad neighbor
Property is fine - the house is clean and had great views of the mountains. Very unique to have a 3-minute walk to the riverside.
The neighbor is very rude and unpleasant. We ended our visit early after encountering him as we were taking a walk along the driveway. We communicated with the owner about the situation, and he was responsive and refunded us part of our stay.
My grown daughter and I and our dogs loved our visit here. The property is exactly as listed and spotless. We loved the cows as neighbors. The river is nearby as is the town of Elkton which is one of the friendliest spots you can find. I look forward to coming back.
Stopped on our way north . Spent most of our time at Shenandoah. WAs the perfect spot. I set up my lap top on the front porch to work while watching the gentle cows ! Kids loved it as well.
We loved the cute farmhouse and it was super clean and perfect for our getaway. Our dog enjoyed the house and fields as well. We explored the caverns and hiked in Shenandoah. Very close to these attractions and also close to several restaurants and stores. Beware the angry neighbor who shares a driveway, he is not friendly and yelled at us for walking past him.
Other than that,we had a great time!
We had the BEST time at the farmhouse. The location is beautiful, the house is clean and well stocked, and the host is so responsive and helpful. Our family absolutely loved our time here! Can’t recommend enough.
Property was even cuter than the photos. Great stay in a beautiful farm house. The location was incredibly charming and had a view of the blue ridge mountains. Cows were at a distance, but close enough to make the experience enjoyable. Very clean and well stocked, could have cooked family meals in the kitchen. Ideal for us that it was super close to the Shenandoah park entrance (15min drive)
We truly needed a place to recharge our life. Dealing with two parents terminal illness on a daily basis was difficult and quickly took a toll of both of us. After a week here in this peace and serenity, we are more than ready to return and follow through our journey. Thank you for allowing us the privilege to stay with you!!!
We really enjoyed our stay in this farmhouse. It was so peaceful sitting on the front porch every evening. The house’s location was great for accessing Shenandoah National Park. Our children enjoyed fishing and playing in the river.
The house was clean and had everything we needed. It was comfortable for our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children.) We used the small portable grill several times and sat outside on the picnic table to enjoy dinner. Such a beautiful view!
We loved the location. So close to Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns and more, yet very peaceful and quiet. The owner was quick to respond when we had a standoff with the cows. Haha
My wife and I spent 3 nights to explore the central Shenandoah Valley. This house has everything needed for a comfortable stay/
Close to several battlefields of T. J. Jackson's Valley Campaign. Bad weather on the second full day negated a planned visit to the South Fork of the Shenandoah River (on the property), but we will not miss it on our next trip.
We really enjoyed our stay; just wish we could have stayed longer.
